Christmas Treat Boxes Using the Tombstone Treat Boxes

On my Facebook Live this past Wednesday, 10.27.2021, I used the Tombstone Treat Boxes to make some beautiful Christmas Treat Boxes.  Let me show you!  I did not include the Tombstone Treat Boxes in my list of supplies at the end of my post.  I see that they are on backorder scheduled to tentatively arrive on November 15th.

Tombstone Not a Tombstone Treat Boxes for Christmas by Jo Anne Hewins

I need to have a disclaimer here at the beginning.  I used the smaller size box for the top, PLEASE USE THE LARGER SIZE FOR THE TOP!

My first box uses the Christmas Season bundle with the Seasonal Labels dies.  I cut the leaves from Pear Pizzazz and Garden Green.  The berries are cut from Merry Merlot.  The label is in Basic White cut from the coordinating dies.  The leaves needed to be trimmed to fit on the box.  I used the Metallic Ribbon for the bow.

The second box uses the Be Jolly stamp set.  For the texture added to the box, run the whole box lid through the Bark embossing folder.  I use the Brick & Mortar embossing folder for the chimney.  Use the Basic Gray pad and rub it lightly on the side of the folder that has the raided grout lines.  Run a 1 3/4 x 3 piece of Real Red through the folder.  Add a thin piece of Basic Gray to the top of the chimney.  Add the chimney with dimensionals.  The Santa is stamped on Basic White in Basic Gray ink.  Color with the Real Red combo, Smoky Slate combo, Ivory, Light Petal Pink, Light Daffodil Delight.  The bird also uses the Balmy Blue combo.  You'll have to fussy cut the Santa and bird.  Add with dimensionals.

My third box top uses the Merriest Moments Hybrid bundle.  Cut a Basic White rectangle using the Merriest Frames dies rectangle.  Stamp a large and small flower using Real Red.  Stamp two leaves in Evening Evergreen.  Cut using the dies.  The saying is from the Christmas to Remember stamp set.  Stamp the center of the flowers in Basic Gray or you can add some of the Metallic Pearls.  Add the Wonderful Gems to the rectangle with the saying.  The rectangle is attached with dimensionals.

Finally, the last box is decorated using the Angels of Peace.  Start with a piece of Basic White that has been embossed with the Merriest Frames embossing folder.  Trim this down to 3 x 4 to fit the top of the box.  You want the rectangle to stay in the middle.  Cut a white rectangle using the dies.  Stamp the angel in Basic Gray and color with Blends.  I used Ivory, Light Petal Pink, Daffodil Delight combo, Old Olive combo, Balmy Blue combo, and Light Real Red combo.  Use Wink of Stella on the wings.  Cut a piece of Gold Foil a little larger than the rectangle (about 1/8th inch).  Tie the White Glittered Organdy Ribbon around the embossed piece and tie into a ribbon on the side.  Add the gold foil with dimensionals.  Add the embossed piece to the box top.

Facebook Live 10.20.2021 Welcoming Woods

We made two cards on my Facebook Live using the Welcoming Woods stamp set from the mini catalog.  Both have essentially the same layout.  One is for fall and the other is for winter.

Facebook Live 10.20.2021 Welcoming Woods Cards Blending Brushes Stitched Rectangles dies Stitched Leaves dies Flowers for Every Season Ribbon Combo Pack Luv 2 Create Jo Anne Hewins

We'll start with the fall card.

Facebook Live 10.20.2021 Welcoming Woods Blending Brushes Stitched Rectangles dies Stitched Leaves dies Luv 2 Create Jo Anne Hewins

The base is Thick Basic White 4 1/4 x 11.  Score and fold at 5 1/2.

We are using the Pattern Party Host Designer Series Paper.  Cut to 4 1/4 x 5 1/2.  Glue to the front of the card.

Use the Stitched Rectangle dies, the 2nd and 4th from the outside, to cut a frame from Basic Black card stock.  Use Foam Adhesive Strips on the back.

Cut a piece of Basic White 3  x 4 1/2.  Set up the trees from the Welcoming Woods stamp set on the Stamparatus.  Stamp in Memento Black.  You will need to shift the paper in order to cover all of it with trees.  Use Blending Brushes to add Mango Melody at the bottom and Misty Moonlight at the top.  Blend each together toward the center.  Add leaves in Memento Black.

Facebook Live 10.20.2021 Welcoming Woods Close Up Blending Brushes Stitched Rectangles dies Stitched Leaves dies Luv 2 Create Jo Anne Hewins

Add the tree layer in the center of the card front.  Add the frame around it.

Cut a Mango Melody leaf using the Stitched Leaves dies.

Stamp the saying from the set and use the Lovely Labels Pick a Punch at the end.  Add to the card with the Foam Adhesive Strips so everything will be the same height.

Add a bow from the Baker's Twine Essentials pack and a Matte Black Dot.

Facebook Live 10.20.2021 Welcoming Woods Cards White Emboss Stitched Rectangles dies Stitched Leaves dies Luv 2 Create Jo Anne Hewins

The base is the same as above.  The paper is from the Beauty of the Earth Designer Series Paper cut to 4 1/4 x 5 1/2.  Use the 4th rectangle in from the Stitched Rectangles dies to cut a hole out of the middle.  Glue the outside of the paper to the card front.

Stamp the trees, this time in Early Espresso, just as in the first card.

Stamp the snowflakes in Versamark and emboss in white.  SU now has the embossing powders available in groups.  The Basics group has white, black, and clear.

Add this layer back into the hole with Foam Adhesive Sheets on the back.

Facebook Live 10.20.2021 Welcoming Woods Cards White Embossing Snowflakes Stitched Rectangles dies Stitched Leaves dies Luv 2 Create Jo Anne Hewins

Emboss the same saying in white on a piece of Misty Moonlight.  Add one of the Wonderful Snowflakes.  The bow is from the Flowers for Every Season Ribbon Combo Pack.  Finish off with some Basic Rhinestones.

Here is the video for you.

Facebook Live 9.29.2021 Two Fall Latch Fun Fold Cards

We made 2 great Latch Fun Fold cards on my Facebook Live on Wednesday.  Both are great for fall.  I think you'll like them.  I've got the video to post and all the measurements.  Here are the cards.

Facebook Live 9.29.2021 Beauty of the Earth DSP Beauty of Friendship bundle Beautiful Trees dies Latch Card Fun Fold Love of Leaves Wink of Stella Jo Anne Hewins Luv 2 Create

So I'm going to put the video here.

We made the card on the right first. For the cards I'll put the measurements and supplies used.

Facebook Live 9.29.2021 Love of Leaves Layering Circles dies Wink of Stella Latch Fun Fold Card Jo Anne Hewins Luv 2 Create

Cajun Craze is the base of this one.  You'll need one that measures 5 1/2 x 6 1/2 and score at 4 1/4.  The other Cajun Craze piece measures 3 1/4 x 3 1/2.  Score this at 1/2 on the shorter side.

Measurements for the Basic White card stock are 2 1/8 x 5 3/8, 2 5/8 x 3 3/8, and 4 1/8 x 5 3/8.

I used the Love of Leaves and the Quiet Meadow stamp sets.  Colors used are Cajun Craze, Merry Merlot, Old Olive, Crushed Curry, and Soft Suede.

Facebook Live 9.29.2021 Love of Leaves Layering Circles dies Wink of Stella Latch Fun Fold Card Close Up Jo Anne Hewins Luv 2 Create

The circles were made using the Layering Circles dies.  Embellishments are made with Wink of Stella and the Bumblebee Gingham Ribbon.

The latch part comes when the layer on the right fits under the circle label and over the left fold.

Here's the inside of the card.

Facebook Live 9.29.2021 Beauty of the Earth DSP Beauty of Friendship bundle Beautiful Trees dies Latch Card Fun Fold Inspired Thoughts Jo Anne Hewins Luv 2 Create

The second card we made had a base of Early Espresso.  The first piece is 5 1/2 x 6 1/2, score at 4 1/4.  The second piece is 3 1/2 x 4 1/2, score on the 3 1/2 inch side at 1/2.

I used the Beauty of the Earth Designer Series Paper for this card.  Measurements are 2 1/8 x 5 3/8 for one and 2 7/8 x 4 3/8 for the other using the multicolor fall paper.  I also used the sky paper for the inside of the card.  It measures 4 1/8 x 5 3/8.  I like a thin border around my card.  If you want to get more use of your DSP, then you might want to lower all the measurements by 1/8.

I used the tree from the Beautiful Trees dies.  You'll need two of them.  Cut from Early Espresso.  Put some of the Adhesive Sheets on the back of the card stock.  This will turn your trees into stickers.

Use the Layering Circles dies for the circles.  The sentiment is from the Inspired Thoughts stamp set.

Facebook Live 9.29.2021 Beauty of the Earth DSP Beauty of Friendship bundle Beautiful Trees dies Latch Card Fun Fold Inspired Thoughts Close Up Jo Anne Hewins Luv 2 Create

For the inside of the card, use the Happiest of Birthdays stamp set.  Place the stamp on the Stamparatus to make sure you get a dark image.

Use the video for the directions.

I think this should give you what you need to know.  You can adjust the latch part of the card to the design you want to use.  On the second card I adjusted the size to fit my tree.

Hot Chocolate Holder Featuring Mini Jam Jars Facebook Live 9.8.2021

So glad to see you today!  Last week I blogged a hot chocolate holder using the Painted Christmas Designer Series Paper. It featured the use of the Mini Jam Jars found in the annual catalog.  There was a request for a video.  Thanks for that.  It's nice to know what you want!  For the video I used different products.  I used the Nature's Meadow Designer Series Paper.  I think it turned how very well!  I've also used the Nature's Harvest bundle.

The fall is also a time of gift giving and showing others how thankful you are for them.  It may not seem like it right now but cooler weather will be on the way.  Hot chocolate is always a great idea!

If you want the measurements for this project please go here to my earlier blog post.  It's all there!  I also have links for the Hot Chocolate I ordered and for the wooden spoon I used.  These links are also on my YouTube video!

Here's the video!

Here's a few more pictures of my project!

NC Demo Blog Hop for April, 2021 Pleased as Punch!

I love a punch!  Don't you?  Welcome to the NC Demo Blog Hop for April where we are Pleased as Punch to have you here.

Join us blog
You might have just come from Amy's blog or maybe you are just beginning here.  We are so glad to have you.  Be sure to visit everyone on the hop.  I can't wait to visit myself and see all the ideas.

I'm actually using two of the new punches in our upcoming catalog, the Elegant Tag punch and the Flowers & Leaves punch.  Why not put them together in one card!

NC Blog Hop Pleased as Punch by Jo Anne Hewins

I'm using some of our new In Colors as well.

The base of the card is Evening Evergreen that measures 5 1/2 x 8 1/2.  Score and fold at 4 1/4.  Stamp the large flower stem from the Flowers of Friendship stamp set around the outside of the card front in Evening Evergreen.

The next layer is Polished Pink.  It is cut to 3 1/2 x 4 3/4.  The Basic White layer is 3 3/8 x 4 5/8.  Use the Tasteful Textile Embossing Folder with this layer.  Adhere these layers to the center of the card.  HINT:  You can punch out the flowers from the center of this layer.  I got two punches out of it.  No one will ever know!  That's using the Flowers & Leaves punch.

Using the Elegant Tag punch, punch out 4 from the Soft Succulent card stock.  Emboss all of these with the Tasteful Textile EF.  Space all of these out on the card front and glue them on.  They will extend a little past the layers already placed.  That's fine.

NC Blog Hop Pleased as Punch Close Up by Jo Anne Hewins

Now, you need to make 4 flowers.  In total, you will need 8 of the largest flower and 4 of the smaller flower.  These are all from Polished Pink.  Sponge around the petals with a sponge dauber and the pink ink.  Curl up the petals with you Bone Folder.  You will also need 12 of the largest leaves.

Assemble the flowers.  Each layer of petals is placed a little askew from the layer below.

The centers of the flowers come from the Pansy dies.  The die I used will cut 3 center pieces at a time.  Each flower uses all three.

Glue a flower in the center of each tag.

The saying is from the Pansy Patch stamp set.  Stamp in Polished Pink on a 1/2 inch strip of Basic White.  Notch the ends.  Add this in the center of the card on dimensionals.  Pull out any leaves so they are on top of the saying, but not covering any words.

NC Blog Hop Pleased as Punch Inside by Jo Anne Hewins

Here is the inside of the card.  The saying is again from Pansy Patch.  Stamp 2 Polished Pink smaller flowers and punch.  Punch some leaves from Evening Evergreen.  Add all to the inside.

Here is a video showing how to make the card.
