Unbounded Love Bundle Just a Simple Card and More

Recently, I had a Luv 2 Create team meeting.  Our group was small with it being summer and vacation time, but we had a great time together.  One of the things I like to do is decorate a bottle of water for each place.  I just love coming up with a little something.  Here are some of the bottles.

I usually mention that they can clip off the decoration and make a card from it.  That's what I did and I thought I would share it with all of you.

I decided to use a card base of Night of Navy 5 1/2 x 8 1/2, scored and folded at 4 1/4.

The first layer is one of Balmy Blue, 4 x 5 1/4.  Emboss with the Eyelet Embossing Foldera.  Do not glue it to the card front until the label from the bottle has been added.  Put dimensionals under the area that was previously curled a little.  Trim the excess from the sides of the Balmy Blue.

Clip off the decoration from the bottle.  I used the patterned papers from the Mediterranean Blooms Designer Series Paper.  The strip that goes around the bottle measures 1 1/2 x 9 1/2.  I adhered the strip to itself using Seal tape.  It might help to run down the length of the strip with a Bone Folder.   That will make it curl a little.

The next layer is cut using the Greetings of the Season dies.  These are part of the Greetings of the Season bundle from the new Online Exclusives.  These can only be found in the Online Store, but they are for everyone, not that exclusive.  Use another pattern of the Mediterranean Blooms paper.

The Greetings of the Season dies are all tags.  That means there is a hole in each.  Use a three inch piece of the Petal Pink ribbon from the Petal Pink & White Diagonal Ribbon Trim Combo Pack to run through the hole.  Give a little twist to one part of the ribbon that sticks up so that both sides of the ribbon looks the same.  Tie near the bottom near the tag with some Linen Thread.  I just tied mine in a knot.

The white label is cut using the Unbounded Love dies.  Stamp the saying from Unbounded Love in Night of Navy.  For the bottle I also tried to curl the tag.  Glue all of the pieces together.

The flowers are cut from Petal Pink using the Country Flowers dies.  The leaves are cut from the same dies using Soft Sea Foam.

Embellish with Rhinestone Basic Jewels.

That's it for today.  I think my water bottle decor made a great card!  The hard part was already done!

Happy Houseplants Kits from the Kits Collection Online Store for Stampin' Up!

Some of the best news is that Stampin' Up! will publish 2 new kits every month in 2024 for the Online Kits Collection!  I'm here to review the Happy Houseplants Kit.  It's one of the February 2023 new kits.  It is a home decor kit making 4 beautiful plant frames.  #163873, $25.

When you open the kit, you'll find 2 smaller packages, the frames and the paper supplies needed.

Happy Houseplants Kit Jo Anne Hewins Luv 2 Create Just Out of the Box

Here is a picture of the back of the frame.

Happy Houseplants Kit Jo Anne Hewins Luv 2 Create Back of Frame

The 'glass' is plastic.  There is a coating covering to be removed.  If you use the dimensionals on the pieces as shown, the glass will not lie flat.  I did not use it.

Happy Houseplants Kit Jo Anne Hewins Luv 2 Create Peel Off Plastic

The frames are a little different color than the other parts.  I like it because of that.  There is a tiny stripe to all the sides when you look closely.

Happy Houseplants Kit Jo Anne Hewins Luv 2 Create All Supplies From Kit

These are the parts.  The frames are OK for the price of the kit, but are plastic.  The mats could be a little thicker in my opinion.  I would also like to see the 4 background sheets for each plant to be a little more substantial.  There are two sheets with punch outs.

Happy Houseplants Kit Jo Anne Hewins Luv 2 Create Supplies From Kit

This shows the backgrounds and the punch outs sheets.

The directions are good.  This is a very simple kit that will not take a lot of time.  Each plant has two plant pieces to add and the plant container.  All are added with dimensionals that are included.  I did add more dimensionals that shown on the directions, but there are plenty of them.

Happy Houseplants Kit Jo Anne Hewins Luv 2 Create Making Snake Plant

The directions show using a pen or pencil to curl the parts of the plant.  I used my Bone Folder.  This kit is truly all inclusive!  Use the directions to help with placement of the parts.  I like how part of the picture is on the background piece.  That adds to the look of dimension.

Happy Houseplants Kit Jo Anne Hewins Luv 2 Create Snakeplant in Frame

Here is the completed snake plant.  It's very hard to see the subtle stripes.  When I expanded the picture, I was able to see it a little.  When curling the punch outs, look at where they will be.  I curled some so that they would curl under and some so that they would curl up.  I thought this would add more interest.

Happy Houseplants Kit Jo Anne Hewins Luv 2 Create Making Hanging Basket

This shows the hanging basket with one of the sets of leaves already added.  Again, look carefully at the directions for placement.

Happy Houseplants Kit Jo Anne Hewins Luv 2 Create Making Plant in Basket

I felt like this plant gave me a little more challenge on where to place each part.  The stems shown with the first part end up being mostly covered.  It made me wonder why they were there.  I'm sure it was to be helpful.  In this picture, you see some Linen Thread across the basket.  I added that on my own as an extra.

Happy Houseplants Kit Jo Anne Hewins Luv 2 Create Completed Plant in Basket

I added a bow to the frame.  I chose to add this to some of the other frames.  I'll show you at the end.

Happy Houseplants Kit Jo Anne Hewins Luv 2 Create Varigated Leaves

This shows the last variegated plant.  The pot is placed on the line.

Happy Houseplants Kit Jo Anne Hewins Luv 2 Create Completed Varigated Frame

Here is the finished plant.  I wanted to add more to the frames.  There is a video showing how you can add words.  Here is one example here.  I chose not to make a video.

Happy Houseplants Kit Jo Anne Hewins Luv 2 Create Display of Frames

Here is a picture of my finished frames.  I added Linen Thread to three of the pictures.  I also used the Brushed Brass Butterflies and the Adhesive Backed Dragonflies & Birds.

I'm sure that something could be done to the mats.  As an experiment I tried covering one of them.

Happy Houseplants Kit Jo Anne Hewins Luv 2 Create Frame with Covered Mat

I apoligize that this paper is retired.  It's from the holiday mini catalog that just retired.  I do think there is some perfect paper in the upcoming Online Exclusives called Flowering Zinnias that would be perfect for this.  I just have other plans for that paper.

To cover the mat, I cut my paper to 7 x 7.  Cut from the center.  On my Paper Trimmer, place the paper so that it is on the 5.  Now cut from 2 to 5.  Turn and repeat on each side.  Place the frame in the middle of the paper and miter each corner.  Fold each side down against the edge.  Once the outside is complete, cut from each corner on the inside to the corner of the mat.  Fold each side up against the edge.  I found the inside to be more difficult.  The outside would be hidden a little by the frame.  I tried to do this without securing the paper so I could take it all off if unsuccessful.  It was hard to do it that way.  That's why I suggested doing the outside edges first.

This kit is great for someone who feels they aren't crafty.  There's no stamping.  The frames should be completed in about 30 minutes I would say.  They are very pretty and would dress up a wall or bookshelf nicely.  I think one would be perfect as a gift for someone in a nursing home since it can stand.  There is hardware to hang as well.

Birthday Sparkle Kit: Overview and Some Alternatives

Hello to you!  Today I have an overview of the Birthday Sparkle Kit.  This kit was released on February 1 and I give it a big thumbs up.  The item number is #163865 and the cost in the US is $23.

Birthday sparkle

I have a video for this kit with some alternative projects.  Warning!  Mistakes were made and words were hard, but I hope you'll take a look anyway.

Birthday Sparkle Kit Just Opened Kit Jo Anne Hewins Luv 2 Create

Just out of the box, this is what you will find.  The kit is all inclusive.  You will receive a clear block.  You'll notice that I have used my own blocks.  I'll reserve this one for a customer.  You also get a Early Espresso stampin' spot.  I have used my own larger ink pad.  The stamp set is great.  Every stamp is used when making the kit.

Birthday Sparkle Kit Directions Sheet with QR codes Jo Anne Hewins Luv 2 Create

The directions are two sided.  One thing I noticed is the section with QR codes.  You can access a video for a beginner stamper and another video with the instuctions.  It's great that every effort has been made to make kit assembly a successful experience for everyone.

Birthday Sparkle Kit Completed Cards and Tags According to Instructions Jo Anne Hewins Luv 2 Create

Here are the completed projects according to the directions.

Birthday Sparkle Kit Supplies for one card with personal blocks Jo Anne Hewins Luv 2 Create

These are the supplies for the balloon card.  It could be a little bit of a challenge to get the sticks stamped for the balloons.  But I must say that assembly of the card was a lot of fun.  Stamping the designs on the individual balloons was easy.  It is a little hard to see the shapes on the gold glimmer piece, but I love how easy to just pull off stickers and add them to the project.

Birthday Sparkle Kit Supplies for candle card with personal blocks Jo Anne Hewins Luv 2 Create

This is the second card.  Assembly is easy.  There are double dimensionals with the frame and the sentiment piece so it could mean a little extra postage.

Birthday Sparkle Kit Supplies for both tags with personal blocks Jo Anne Hewins Luv 2 Create

These are the supplies for the tags.  In the video I had trouble with the cupcake.  Make sure that you stamp the words a little higher so that the cupcake paper does not cover the words.  I had thought to make the cupcake without dimensionals in order to add it to a card with dimensionals for easier postage.  This does not work with the stick.  Both of the tags are as cute as they can be.  The candle tag can be made without dimensionals to add to a card.

Birthday Sparkle Kit Alternative Note Cards Shown in Video for Tags Jo Anne Hewins Luv 2 Create

Opps!  Looks like there is a stray dimensional paper in there.  Sorry about that!  Can you find it?

In the video I show a few alternatives using the Kraft Note Cards & Envelopes and the Basic White Note Cards & Envelopes.  Additional supplies not in the kit were from the Nature's Sweetness Designer Series Paper, Silver & Gold Adhesive-Backed Glimmer Paper from the Online Exclusives, Beautiful Balloons dies, Radiating Stitches dies from the Online Exclusives, Neutrals Adhesive-Backed Sequins.  Don't tell anyone but I also used a small piece of Kraft paper from the retired Kraft 6 x 6 should you have that.  It matches perfectly.

Tag Card with gold frame:  Gold piece is 3 x 4 1/2, cut out 2nd rectangle from Radiating Stitches dies and save for another use.  Nature's Sweetness grid DSP 2 3/4 x 4 1/4.

Tag Card with gold strip:  Nature's Sweetness with gold dots is 3 3/8 x 4 7/8.  Gold strip is 3/4 x 3 3/8.

Striped Strip on White Note Card.  Early Espresso 7/8 inches wide.  White or Kraft strip is 3/4 inches wide to get the stamp to work.

Watch the video to see how I used the dots stamp to make a background and how I used the stripe stamp to get that striped strip of paper.  For one of the backgrounds stamp the words stamps and the little curly one all over.  You can stamp the envelope flap as well.

Birthday Sparkle Kit Two Projects with Left Over Supplies Jo Anne Hewins Luv 2 Create

These note cards were made using the extra pieces of the kit.  For the card on the left, I cut the balloon flag and tiny balloon using the Beautiful Balloons dies and the gold glimmer paper.  I suggest stamping the stick for the balloon first.  I didn't and I did not match the stick to the balloon very well hince the tiny gold balloon.  We cover our mistakes, right?  I used a sponge dauber and Early Espresso ink to outline the large punched out piece and the balloons.  I did not do that on the large white balloon.  I think it needs the color to stand out.

Birthday Sparkle Kit All Alternative Projects Shown in Video for Tags Jo Anne Hewins Luv 2 Create

So here are my projects.  I did not come up with alternatives for the large cards.  I really like them the way they are.  I did enjoy my time with making tags into cards and with the extra pieces.

In the video I said something about the box that you get in the Kraft Note Cards & Envelopes, but I forgot to get back to it.  Here is a picture of that.  It's a fantastic sturdy box with a lid.  Love it.  I got it together and I'm sometimes challenged for that kind of thing.

Kraft Note Cards and Envelopes Birthday Sparkle Kit Jo Anne Hewins Luv 2 Create Card in Box

Here I laid down one of the punch outs not needed for the kit.  Just decorate as you wish for a great gift.  The regular sized cards will not fit in there.

Kraft Note Cards and Envelopes Birthday Sparkle Kit Jo Anne Hewins Luv 2 Create

Here is the box with one on the cards on top.  Wouldn't that make a great decoration for the box!

I thank you so much for your presence today.  I know you are busy.  My video is long and a little bit of a disaster.  I think it's worth it.  Love to all of you and I hope you have the best day ever!

I am a Stampin' Up! demonstrator.  I'm happy to help you with anything that I can.  Just let me know.
