Countryside Inn Suite Collection Sampler Frame
May 08, 2023
I have a frame to share with you today. The frame is made using the Countryside Corners dies, Stylish Shapes dies, Around the Bend dies, Cheerful Daisy dies, and the Dainty Delight dies. There was lots of cutting, but it was all worth it. This is a 9 x 9 frame that came from IKea several years ago.
My Luv 2 Create Team met this past Saturday. We made this frame as our project.
I'll go through section by section and tell you a little about each of them.
This is the upper left side of the frame. Use the Stylish Shapes dies to cut a Basic White circle (second circle in) and a Boho Blue circle (3rd one in). Decorate with the long stem from the Dainty Delight dies in Lemon-Lime Twist. Cut 2 of the Fresh Freesia flowers and 2 stems in Granny Apple Green. Use a Blending Brush to add color to the Fresh Freesia flowers. Tie knots of the Lemon-Lime Ribbon from the Duo Ribbon Combo Pack. Glue everything. Add the knots with rolled up glue dots.
This section is the upper right. Use the Countryside Corners dies to cut a shape from the Countryside Inn Designer Series Paper. Cut two of these because you'll need another for another area of the frame. Use the 4th die in.
Use Granny Apple Green cardstock a little larger than the shape you cut from designer paper. Angle and cut the leaves using the Around the Bend dies. Cut this using the same die as for the designer paper. Be careful how you angle the die so it will match close to the sample.
Cut 7 flowers using the dies from Around the Bend. If you cut two sets, you'll have an extra one. Cut backings for the flowers using Lemon Lolly cardstock. I admit, this was quite tedious but worth it. Add the flowers on dimensionals.
The half daisies are cut from Lemon Lolly using the Dainty Delight dies. Cut centers for the flowers using Pecan Pie cardstock.
Use the other shape you cut for this lower left part of the sampler. Cut the long stem from Dainty Delight in Granny Apple Green. Trim part of it away. Cut three of the Fresh Freesia and add color with a Blending Brush. Cut three of the daisies from Lemon Lolly. Add additional color with a Blending Brush. Cut centers with Pecan Pie. Glue all of these.
Measurements for the bottom right are Basic White 3 1/2 x 3 1/2. The 2023-2025 In Color 6 x 6 Paper Stack Boho Blue piece is 3 3/8 x 3 3/8. Cut a long stem from Dainty Delight in Granny Apple Green. Trim this stem as needed. Cut 3 sets of leaves using the largest die from the Cheerful Daisies dies. Cut the largest die again using Fresh Freesia cardstock. Cut each of these flowers apart and remove any tags. Add color around the edges wuith a Blending Brush. Cut each flower out using the individual detailed dies for each flower. Blend the edges. Glue the flowers together. Cut centers from Lemon Lolly using Cheerful Daisies dies. Add the flowers with dimensionals. Cut three Fresh Freesia flowers from Dainty Delight. Add color with Blending Brushes.
Just to be honest, I kept changing this section and ended up covering up some of the leaves. Of course you fix them to please you!
Tie a bow with the Duo Ribbon Combo Pack and add with g glue dot.
The frame background is cut from the backing of a designer series pack. It measures 9 1/8 x 9 1/8. The Boho Blue layer measures 7 1/4 x 7 1/4. The Countryside Inn Designer Series Paper measures 7 1/16 x 7 1/16. Glue those two layers together and add them to the background with dimensionals or with Foam Adhesive Sheets.
Add each section with dimensionals.
Cut an additional largest die from Cheerful Daisies in Basic White. Cut these pieces apart as before. Add some of these pieces around some of the sections. I wanted this to help lighten up the dark background.
I used a 9 x 9 Ikea 3D frame for my sampler. I have had this frame for a long time so I don't know if they still have them. I'm sure you could find something online.
This was a project for my Luv 2 Create team. Here they are hard at work. I did all of the cutting for them so they had to assemble.
It was a great day followed by lunch at a favorite restaurant. Want to join my Luv 2 Create Team? I'm happy to help you!
