Welcome to the NC Demo Blog Hop for April.  Our theme is Online Exclusives.  We post on the last Sunday of every month.  You may have just come from Tina Lesson's blog post.  Tina always has wonderful projects to share with you.  If you are just starting here, please take the entire hop.  You'll be so glad you did!

Online Exclusives

Did you know there are products available that are not in any of our catalogs?  We don't want you to miss them.  Just go to https://www.stampinup.com/ and then to Online Exclusives to see all of the fabulous products there.  Today I'll be using the Encircled in Nature bundle.

ENCIRCLED IN NATURE BUNDLE (ENGLISH)

Here is the card I made for you.

Encircled in Nature Bundle Card Blends Nested Essentials dies Tinsel 3 Pack Gems Petal Pink and White Diagonal Ribbon Combo Pack Jo Anne Hewins Luv 2 Create

The base of the card is Thick Basic White 5 1/2 x 8 1/2, scored and folded at 4 1/4.  Cut a piece of Basic White 4 x 5 1/4.  Run this layer through the Cut & Emboss Machine with the Distressed Tile 3D Embossing Folder.  Glue to the front of the card base.

There are two circlular dies that fit one inside the other.  There are little knobs on each die to match up.  Cut these out together from Gray Granite card stock.  This will make a base for the wreath.  Glue to the center of the card.

Cut the other wreath from Basic White.  We will color in this wreath using our blends.  For the flower buds use the Fresh Freesia Blends Combo and for the stems use the Lemon Lime Twist Combo Blends.  Once you have colored the wreath, glue it over the gray wreath.  Just put a few dots of glue around on the flower buds.  Hold the wreath in place for a few moments.

Stamp the double flowers stamp on Basic White.  Stamp in Gray Granite ink.  Color these in with Lemon Lime Twist blends, Fresh Freesia blends, and Daffodil Delight Blends Combo.  Cut the flowers out with the Encircled in Nature dies.  Add to the lower right of the wreath with glue dots.  That will give it a little lift without using dimensionals.

Tie a bow with the Petal Pink & White Diagonal Trim Combo Pack.  Add with glue dots.

Stamp the saying in Gray Granite from the Encircled in Nature stamp set.  Cut this out using the Nested Essential dies.  Add this label with glue dots.

Complete the card with the Tinsel Gems 3 Pack.

Thoughtful Wishes with the Radiating Stitches Dies

I'm back with another beautiful card using the Thoughtful Wishes bundle.  It's found on pages 46 and 47 in the new catalog!

Thoughtful Wishes Bundle Card Thoughtful Journey 6 x 6 DSP Radiating Stitches dies Basic Rhinestone Jewels 2024-2026 In Color Stampin' Write Markers Close Up Jo Anne Hewins Luv 2 Create

For this card, I'm using the Radiating Stitches dies.  They are found in the Online Exclusives of the online store.  My card base is Blackberry Bliss 5 1/2 x 8 1/2, folded at 4 1/4.

Add a piece of the Thoughtful Journey 6 x 6 Designer Series Paper that is cut to 3 1/4 x 4 1/2 to the center of the card.  Make sure you pick a piece with Blackberry Bliss in it.

Now take a piece of Blackberry Bliss card stock that is 4 1/4 x 5 1/2.  Use the largest die and place the second largest die inside.  You need both dies to cut the frame.  Add the frame to the card front with Foam Adhesive Sheets.  Cut strips about 1/2 inch wide.  The frame will hide the edges of the designer paper.

Thoughtful Wishes Bundle Thoughtful Journey 6 x 6 DSP Radiating Stitches dies Basic Rhinestone Jewels 2024-2026 In Color Stampin' Write Markers Close Up Jo Anne Hewins Luv 2 Create

We'll be using the stamp from Thoughtful Wishes with a single stem and multiple leaves and flowers.  Use  a Blackberry Bliss and an Old Olive Stampin' Write Marker to color directly on the red rubber of the stamp.  Color with the side of the large end of the marker and color well.  Huff on the stamp to add moisture in case the stamp has dried a little.  Stamp on Basic White.  Repeat again and then again only with the top part of the stamp.  Cut these out with the Thoughtful Wishes dies.  Add these stems just inside the frame with dimensionals.  There will be a little overflow on the sides.  Use a glue dot to secure.

Stamp the word thanks in Blackberry Bliss on a white scrap.  Fussy cut around the word.  Add with glue dots.

Complete with Basic Rhinestone Jewels.  Tie a knot witht the white ribbon from the Petal Pink & Basic White Diagonal Stripe Trim Combo Pack.

NC Blog Hop for March Retiring and Returning

Hello and welcome to the NC Demo Blog Hop.  We hop the last Sunday of each month.  I'm so glad you are here.  For this month our hop features at least one item that is retiring and one item that is returning.  You may have come from Laurie Meier's post or you might be starting here with me.  Either way, please take the entire hop.  I know you'll get some great ideas!

This is a time of year with lots of change if you follow Stampin' Up!  Both the January-April Mini and the 2023-2024 Annual catalogs are ending soon.  The Last Chance Lists have been published.  We are anxious to see what is retiring and what will be carrying on.  Sadly, some items will be leaving us.  Some items that are carrying over will appear in the new 2024-2025 Annual catalog and some just might show up in the Online Exclusives section of the Online Store.  The Online Store is proving to be the best place to find out what's available.  Let me move on.

NC Demo Blog Hop Natural Print dies Perennial Lavender DSP Flowering Zinnias DSP Tailor Made Tags dies Distressed Tile EF Linen Thread Perennial Postage stamp set Lovely and Sweet dies Front View Jo Anne Hewins Luv 2 Create

One of the things that I will miss is the Natural Prints dies (retiring).  I just love that wreath!  So my card is focusing on the wreath.  The perfect fold for a circular focus is the book fold.  It leaves one section of the card in a square that is perfect for that circle.

My base of Crumb Cake card stock 4 1/4 x 11.  Score at 4 1/4 and at 5 1/2.  Fold the base in half and then fold back at the next score line.  Make sure all is straight.  Use your Bone Folder to burnish the folds.

Glue down the small section left at the left of the card making the book fold.

For the spine of the book, cut a piece of the Flowering Zinnias Designer Series Paper.  This product is already in the Online Exclusives.  Cut the paper 1 1/8 x 4 1/8.  Run it through the Cut & Emboss Machine with the Distressed Tile Embossing Folder (returning).  This leaves some white showing on the paper, but I like that!  Glue.

NC Demo Blog Hop Book Fold Natural Print dies Perennial Lavender DSP Flowering Zinnias DSP Tailor Made Tags dies Distressed Tile EF Linen Thread Perennial Postage stamp set Lovely and Sweet dies Jo Anne Hewins Luv 2 Create

For the main part of the card, cut a piece of Basic White to 4 1/8 x 4 1/8.  Now cut the gingham paper from the Perennial Lavender Designer Series Paper (returning) to 4 x 4.  Glue all together and add to the card front.

Cut the wreath using the Natural Prints dies (sadly retiring) from designer paper from the Perennial Lavender paper.  Add to the front of the card with Mini Dimensionals.  You might even need to cut some of the mini ones in half.

The little flowers are cut from the Flowering Zinnias DSP using the Lovely & Sweet dies (returning).  There are 4 little double sets of flowers in the dies.  Use all 4 and cut them out 3 times.  Save a flower for the inside of the card.  Of course, If you want less flowers, use less.

For the flowers, place them on a Stampin' Pierce Mat.  Press down in the center to make some dimension.  I use the blunt end of one of our old pokey tools.  Add tiny dots of glue to the wreath and add the flowers.

Tie a bow of Linen Thread (returning thankfully!) with a glue dot.

For the inside of the wreath, cut the smallest tag from the Tailor Made Tags dies (retiring sadly!)  Cut this from the same designer paper used for the spine and emboss it as well.

Use the Perennial Postage stamp set (retiring) for the saying.  I used part of one of the sayings.  Stamp with VersaMark with the part of the saying covered with tape that you do not want.  Remove the tape.  Don't forget that part!  Stamp on Melon Mambo card stock.  Cover with white embossing powder and heat with the Heat Tool.  Cut this out with the tag die placing it so that the saying is at the top and bottom of the tag.

Let me take a moment here to discuss embossing powders.  The Basic Embossing Powders have been unavailable to purchase for a while now.  SU is having to change providers.  They are not available with the new catalog, but they will eventually be back.  I think it will be in the same format.

Add the tags to each other and then add to the card with dimensionals.

NC Demo Blog Hop Book Fold Natural Print dies Perennial Lavender DSP Flowering Zinnias DSP Tailor Made Tags dies Distressed Tile EF Linen Thread Perennial Postage stamp set Lovely and Sweet dies Card inside Jo Anne Hewins Luv 2 Create

For the inside of the card, I used some of the gingham paper that I have left over.  I decided to add a little strip of Melon Mambo to the top.

The saying is from the Perennial Postage stamp set stamped in Pretty Peacock ink.  Add one flower.

How About a Beautiful Frame with Simply Zinnia?

I have a beautiful frame for you today using the Simply Zinnia dies.  This one has a lot of die cutting, but once that's done, it's easy to put it all together.

Simply Zinnia Frame Flowering Zinnia DSP Lemon Lolly Balmy Blue HIghland Heather Petal Pink Fresh Freesia Daffodil Delight Crushed Curry Pretty Parakeet Granny Apple Green Gray Granite Simply Zinnia dies Jo Anne Hewins Luv 2 Create

What's even better?  I've used one of the frames from the Happy Houseplants Kit.  The frame is 6 x 6.

For my background, I used the Flowering Zinnias Designer Series Paper, cutting it to the 6 x 6 mentioned above.

I'm hoping that the pot doesn't look like an ice cream cone.  I used the Ice Cream Swirl dies for that.  Cut it from Gray Granite.  Use a Blending Brush to add a little more color.  Cut some from the bottom.  I think I cut off about 1 1/2 inches.

Leaves are cut from Parakeet Party and Granny Apple Green.  I tried to mix them throughout.  Looks like I might have used about 5 of each color.  Sponge these with Parakeet party ink.

Simply Zinnia Frame Flowering Zinnia DSP Lemon Lolly Balmy Blue HIghland Heather Petal Pink Fresh Freesia Daffodil Delight Crushed Curry Pretty Parakeet Granny Apple Green Simply Zinnia dies Daubers Jo Anne Hewins Luv 2 Create

For the flowers, I cut the 2 different flower shapes and used sponge daubers to add a little more color from the center of each layer.  Here is a list of what I used.

Lemon Lolly with Daffodil Delight sponged

Balmy Blue with Balmy Blue sponged

Fresh Freesia with Fresh Freesia sponged

Highland Heather with Gorgeous Grape sponged

Petal Pink with Flirty Flamingo sponged

For the little star like oval used Daffodil Delight and used Crushed Curry for the centers.

Use a Bone Folder to curl the petals for each layer.

Once all of the flowers are assembled just lay them out and determine where you want everything.  Add flowers with dimensionals.  Some leaves are on dimensionals and some are not.  Some leaves were trimmed a little to make them easier to add.

Start with the lower level and just add as you go.  Stick leaves wherever needed.  I curled a few leaves.

Finally add three of the little zinnia buds with leaves.  I added one near the bottom to add a little more interest there and then one from each side.

There you have it.  I'm thinking it will be easy to change out these frames and keep using them.  By the way, the background piece is cut from the backing of designer series paper.  I used nothing from the plant insert so I can just put it back in whenever.
