Craft Room

My Craft Room Tour

For years I've been saving for cabinets in my craft room.  Last fall I began the transformation.  I love how everything came together.  I had a video for you.  Mind you, I put this off because I was afraid I couldn't do it.  It is far from perfect but hopefully you'll get the idea.  Here are a few pictures of my craft room.  The room is 13 x 15 1/2 feet.  I'm going to put a before picture and then the now.

I had the closet taken out on this wall.  This allowed me to have a desk behind my table.  I still have my table in the center of the room and I work mostly from there.  It faces my TV.  Now I can just turn around and I have pads, inks, markers, blends, stamp set, designer paper, and card stock all within reach!  I am in love!  My file drawers with card stock and designer paper are my favorites!

I'm still trying to refine this area, but I still have a place to take pictures, my Cut & Emboss machine, and cutting for classes.  My small Cut & Emboss machine is on my table.  I don't think I showed my table.  It's usually a big mess.

My table faces this wall.  Of course I have to have my TV.

On the fourth wall I have a row of upper cabinets that are place along the wall down low.

Here is the video and I apologize if it gets shaky or not quite where it needs to be.  I did my best.

Before I had a lot of bookcases around my room.  I could see all of my junk.  It's so much more peaceful for me to see my beautiful cabinets.

For my 12 x 12 paper these are the plastic sleeves that hold my paper.  Go here.

For the hanging folders for the 12 x 12 paper, I used files from Stamp-n-Storage.  They are very strong.  Find them here.

Also from Stamp-n-Storage, I used the Combo Holder for my ink pads, markers, and ink refills.  Find it here.

Find the Blends Holder here.  It's also from Stamp-n-Storage.  I have 2.

The rods for the punches came from Ikea.  I haven't been to Ikea in over a year.  I looked on the site and this looks like it.  I do not know if they are the same.

I think that does it.  It's perfect for me.  I hope you like it too.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.  If you need a demonstrator, I would love to earn your business.  See my information below about the Paper Share.  Time is running out!  Go here!

Craft Room Clean Up

For lots of reasons my craft room was in the worse shape ever!  I wish I had taken a before picture, but it would be way too embarrassing!  For one thing, I've had a booth at a local emporium for several years.  I decided to close it.  I'm trying to eliminate some of my stress.  I had my bookcase I used as a display and lots of items I had made sitting around.  I had been suffering from knee problems and had supplies from 2 different classes still out.  That never happens.  I had been to a retreat and never put items away when I returned.  Let's just say everything converged at once. I'm sure you don't want to hear it.  I spent several days cleaning and rearranging my craft room/ office.

Let's just say, I don't have anything fantastic, but it works for me.  It's just so nice to have a change in a room where I spend so much time.  I'm doing something for my business almost every day.  So, here is my craft room.

Craft room 1

Are you one of those people who see the world in Stampin' Up! colors.  I am.  My walls are Pear Pizzazz.  Green is my thing.  This is what I see from my work table.  You can see the display book case.  It came from Hobby Lobby.  I use a lot of black book cases.  They came from Target several years ago.  This was before I heard of the shelves from Ikea.  These have been good for me.  I put my card stock in hanging files.  I love this and I can keep my scraps in the same folder.  I file mine in alphabetical order and by colors, not families.  It works best for me.  Above the book case, I have magnetic boards from Ikea.  Once again, they were bought several years ago.  I don't think they have them anymore.  They might have silver.  Yes, I have the TV on most of the time.  It's probably the Hallmark channel or HGTV, something mindless that I don't really need to pay a lot of attention.  I like to work with the door open if possible.  There are bird feeders I can see from my seat.  Birds can be quite entertaining.

Craft room 2

This is the other side of the room from my work table.  I have a set of the plastic drawers, probably one of my first craft purchases many years ago, under the table. The table under the window has my Big Shots, heat tools, framelits and thinlits, extra Paper Pumpkin kits, score tool, trimmers, MISTI ( sorry Stampin' Up!), Stamp-a-ma-jig, embossing folders, and a few other needed card making supplies.  The book cases, one on top of the other, holds supplies like plastic bags, adhesives, embellishments, craft bags, and on and on.

Craft room 3

This is the back corner of the room.  The book case in the corner holds my current stamp sets, my color caddy carousel, punches on the wall, box of clear blocks, daubers, 12 x 12 Designer Series Paper, etc.  Do you see the doorway that leads to another doorway?  This leads to my classroom.  I've taken over my son's bedroom. This room is also Pear Pizzazz.  I have been placing items in here that I plan on selling or giving away.  Don't look at that!  I can have 12 people with no problems.  I can rearrange and have 16.  It's a tight fit, but it works.

Classroom 1

This is what you see when you first come in.  It's on my list to work on displays and put in new stuff.  It will happen.  I just don't know when!  The tables are really heavy. I bought them from church when they went to lighter round tables.  The chairs are from Sam's Club.  I do have Stamp n Scrubs, scissors, piercer tools, and other supplies available to use during classes.

Classroom 2

This is the view from the other side of the room.  This is a wall of magnetic boards from Ikea.  I use the magnetic clips.  I got mine at Walmart.

This is the quick tour.  I am proud of it.  Now I will admit that there is a large closet behind my work chair.  IT IS A MESS!  I decided to wait a little before I clean it.  You have to create some time, now don't you!  I'm working on the cards for my June class now!  Between the two of us, making cards is a lot more fun!  I'll be sharing some of those cards in the future.

Thanks so much for taking a look at my rooms.  I feel very blessed.  It's not fancy, but it works for me.  See you tomorrow!
