Cards- Valentine's Day

Ice Cream Swirl Valentine Cards for Sagan and Hazel

Valentine's Day kind of crept up on me.  I needed to make a couple cute cards for the granddaughters and I needed something I could make rather quickly.  I've been meaning to use the Ice Cream Swirl bundle.  It was right there on my table.  Here's what I came up with.

Ice Cream Swirls bundle Card Duo Most Adored DSP Perennial Lavender DSP Jo Anne Hewins Luv 2 Create

Pretty cute!  Pink is for Sagan and the purple is for Hazel.

Ice Cream Swirls bundle Most Adored DSP Jo Anne Hewins Luv 2 Create

The base for this card is Thick Basic White 5 1/2 x 8 1/2.  Score and fold at 4 1/4.  Cut 1 1/4 inches from the front of the card.

The Most Adored Designer SeriesPaper is perfect for the card.  This paper is part of the choices for Sale-a-Bration.  For the front the paper is cut at 2 3/4 x 5 1/4.  For the right side of the inside of the card the paper measures 1 1/2 x 5 1/4.

For the ice cream cone, use the dies from the Ice Cream Swirl bundle.  The die will cut for two of the cones, so I was able to use that for both of the cards.  Cut from Crumb Cake card stock.

Stamp the cone using Pecan Pie ink.  Use a Blending Brush to add a little color across the top, bottom and a little down the side.

The ice cream was stamped on yet another paper from Most Adored in Flirty Flamingo.  Color every other space with a Light Flirty Flamingo Blend.  I have to give credit to the ice cream here to Patty Bennett, my upline.  Cut out the ice cream with the dies.

Glue the ice cream to the cone.  The white twine comes from the Baker's Twine Essentials Pack.  Tie the twine into a bow on the front.

Color some of the gems from the Opaque Faceted Gems with a Dark Flirty Flamingo Blend.  These are available for Sale-a-Bration choices as well.

The saying is from the Bee Mine Valentine stamp set.  Cut this out with the Stylish Shapes dies.  The heart is punched with the Bee Builder Punch.

Ice Cream Swirls bundle Perennial Lavender DSP Bee My Valentine Jo Anne Hewins Luv 2 Create

This card is pretty much the same.  The front paper is from the Most Adored DSP.  The ice cream and the side panel purple pieces are from the Perennial Lavender Designer Series Paper.

The ice cream is cut out in Highland Heather.  The more detailed die is cut from the Perennial Lavender.  Glue that to the ice cream base.

Embellishments are Glossy Dots.

Here is the inside of the card.

As I write this, the girls have not yet received their cards.  I think they will like them.

Pretty Pleats Fun Fold Using the Softly Stippled Designer Series Paper

Hello to you today!  The Pretty Pleats Fun Fold was designed by Sue Campfield.  She has a video and I will add the link to it here.  Sue is a gifted card designer.  I'm not going to make another video when you can see the original.

I have designed my cards for today using Sue's cards as a guide.

Softly Stippled DSP Softly Sophisticated Bundle Sale-a-Bration 2024 Pleated Card Paper Snips Perennial Postage dies Heartfelt Hexagon Jo Anne Hewins Luv 2 Create Card Duo

The pleats are on the inside of the card.  My base is Thick Basic White cut 4 1/4 x 11.  Score and fold at 5 1/2.  The paper is from the Softly Stippled  Designer Series Paper.  This paper is free with a $50 purchase during Sale-a-Bration.   It's goin on now!  Cut a piece that is 4  x 5 1/4 for the front of the cards.

The cut outs on both of these cards are from the Stippled Roses dies.  Cut them from Pool Party.  I don't know which I like best.  What ab0ut you?

The white layer is cut using the Perennial Postage dies.  Add to the center of the card front with dimensionals.  Cut the flowers from the Softly Stippled papers and glue to the panel.  The saying for these cards is from the Heartfelt Hexagons stamp set inked in Pebbled Path.  Just stamp on a white scrap and fussy cut around them.

Softly Stippled DSP Softly Sophisticated Bundle Sale-a-Bration 2024 Pleated Card Inside Paper Snips Perennial Postage dies Heartfelt Hexagon Jo Anne Hewins Luv 2 Create Card Duo

Here is the inside of the card.  The designer paper is cut 4 x 12.  You will score at 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9.  Fold back from one of the end pieces and then simply zig zag.  Make sure that your papers are staying straight.  Score with your Bone Folder really well.

Here is an open card and one that is almost closed.

Softly Stippled DSP Softly Sophisticated Bundle Sale-a-Bration 2024 Pleated Card Inside from Heartfelt Hexagon Paper Snips Perennial Postage dies Heartfelt Hexagon Jo Anne Hewins Luv 2 Create Card Duo

For the inside back panel, cut a piece of Basic White using the Perennial Postage dies.  Stamp using the Heartfelt Hexagon stamp set in Pebbled Path.   Glue to the back and then add more flowers from the designer paper at the bottom.

To complete the inside, cut 3 of the small squares from white using the Perennial Postage dies.  Cut flowers from the designer paper again.  You might have to alter the flowers a bit by cutting off a leaf here and there or whatever you need.  Each of the flowers are a little different.  Glue to the pleats  at varying heights.  Put glue only on the left side of the panels.

I think that's all I need to say.  Look at Sue's video and you'll get all of the little details.

Thanks for paying me a visit!  I appreciate it.  I do have the new catalogs.  If you don't already have a demonstrator, I'm happy to send them to you.  Thanks also to Sue Campfield who is so generous to share her fun folds with us.

NC Demo Blog Hop - Just Bee Cause

Boy, do we have a sneak peek for you!  Some of our NC demonstrators who post in our blog hops decided to have a little card swap using the Bee Mine Valentine bundle.  This bundle is included in the upcoming January-April Mini catalog.  As demonstators we had access to this bundle early.  It's so cute!  We couldn't wait to come up with some great cards.  I know you will love this hop!  I've seen all the cards and they are wonderful!

Bee Mine Valentine Paper Florist dies Bee Mine DSP Pictured with stamp set Jo Anne Hewins Luv 2 Create fun fold NC Swap

So here is my card.  You might notice that I don't have the large bee from the stamp set that uses the Bee Builder Punch.  I used this set during a team meeting.  When I started to make my card I realized there was an empty place in my stamp case.  The stamp with the bee stripes was GONE!  You know that those photopolymer stamps are sticky.  They have a way of sticking to anything like the bottom of a paper trimmer, your shoe, under a stamp case, really anywhere.  It may have happened to you.  Admit it!  I did find my stamp.  It was still on the block I used but it had stuck to a bag containing mini blending brushes.  Someone had asked about the brushes and I had gotten the bag to show them.  I put the bag away and never noticed the stamp.  It was in a drawer I don't open often, but for some reason I opened the drawer and found the stamp.

My card base is Thick Basic White 4 1/4 x 5 1/2.

The Bee Mine Designer Series Paper is so cute.  Cut 2 pieces of the Sweet Sorbet paper with the flight lines that are 3/4 x 5 1/2.  Glue these on each side of the card front.  Align with the edges of the card.

Cut a piece of Basic White that is 3 x 11 and score at 5 1/2.  Cover the front of this small card with the bee hive designer paper.  Cut the paper to 3 x 5 1/2.  If the paper is a little large, just turn over the card and trim the excess with Paper Snips.  If it should be a little small, the white at the edge will show.  Just trim that little bit off.  We all hope that we cut everything perfectly, but that doesn't always happen.

Bee Mine Valentine Fun Fold Card Paper Florist dies Bee Mine DSP Jo Anne Hewins Luv 2 Create Close Up NC Swap

Glue the smaller card in the center of the card base.  Align at the top of the card.  I use the lines on my Grid Paper to make sure that the little card is in the center and straight.

It's time to decorate.  Cut a piece of Lemon Lime cardstock to 1/4 inch for the stem of the flower.  I cut to a length of 4 inches.  Use the Paper Florist dies for the flower.  Cut the flower from Sweet Sorbet cardstock.  Curl the petals with a Bone Folder glue them so that the petals all look the same size.  The center is cut from Daffodil Delight cardstock.  Glue it to the center of the flower.

Bee Mine Valentine Card Paper Florist dies Bee Mine DSP Pictured with stamp set Jo Anne Hewins Luv 2 Create fun fold NC Swap

For the saying I used the Bee Mine Valentine stamp set, of course.  Stamp this on Basic White in Memento Black ink.  Cut this out with the Something Fancy dies.  Add with dimensionals toward the bottom of the flower stem.

Since I couldn't stamp my bee (A bee does need stripes.),  I cut bees from the Bee Mine 12 x 12 Designer Series Paper.  I do love to cut and our Paper Snips make cutting so easy!  Add three bees to the card with dimensionals.  Don't you love that they are all carrying hearts!

Embellish with a heart from the Adhesive-Backed Hearts & Flowers.  They are part of the Bee Mine Suite Collection.  This is found on pages 8, 9, and 10 of the mini catalog.  You may not have the catalog yet, but you can contact your demonstrator.  He or she might not have them yet, but they'll be happy to get you a catalog as soon as they can.  You can always contact me.

Please take the entire hop!  Warning!  You might decide that you absolutely NEED to have this whole suite!  Just remember y0u were warned!

Next NC Demo Blog Hop

Now, I know you can't order any of these supplies now unless you are a demonstrator.  So I'm going to add the order numbers just in case you are making a list of things you must have.

Love Cats Valentine and the Country Floral Lane Designer Series Paper

The Love Cats stamp set in the January-April Mini are sooooooo cute!  I shared a card with you last week with this set.  I'll add a link at the end.  That one will go to Hazel.  My card for today goes to Sagan.  She is liking blue a lot right now.  My granddaughters love cats.  They got a new kitten right before Christmas  that  they  named  Bubbles.

Love Cats Card 2 Country Floral Lane DSP Black & White Gingham Ribbon Coordinating Punch Jo Anne Hewins Luv 2 Create
Bubbles isn't black.  I don't think that matters.

My card base is Petal Pink measuring 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and folded at 4 1/4.  The next layer is Mint Macaron 4 x 5 1/4.

The Country Floral Lane Designer Series Paper is cut from two pieces of different paper cut at 3 7/8 x 5 1/8.  Cut from the short side at 1 1/2.  Cut at 2 inches on the long side of the narrow strip.  Cut at 3 1/4 on the long side of the remaining strip.  I did get these measurements online and I think that there is not enough space to properly enjoy the  Mini Macaron.  I think I would try cutting the large pieces at 3 3/4 x 5.  Do your other cuts at the same place and it will be fine.  There will just be a little more room.  Glue pieces in place.

Use a Stamparatus to stamp the cat on a Basic White scrap.  Use Memento Black.  Repeat inking and stamping until you are happy with your black cat.  Fussy cut with Paper Snips.  Add to the card where 2 pattened papers meet.  Use dimensionals.  Leave room to put a piece of the Black & White Gingham Ribbon under and tie into a knot.

Cut the words from part of one of the sayings.  Add with glue dots.

Use the Country Bouquet punch to punch hearts using the Coountry Floral Lane designer series paper.  Cut a few with your snips.  Glue some of the hearts and add some with dimensionals.

Here's the inside of the card.  Again, use the Stamparatus to get a good dark image.  Color in the heart with a Sweet Sorbet Blend.

Love Cats and the Country Floral Lane Designer Series Paper

I don't think you have to be a cat lover to love the Love Cats stamp set from the January-April Mini from Stampin' Up!  It's also easy to make a really cute card with this set and the Country Floral Lane Designer Series Paper.

Love Cats Country Floral Lane DSP Stylish Shapes dies Layering Circles dies Black & White Gingham Ribbon Close Up of Card Matte Black Dots Jo Anne Hewins Luv 2 Create

Start with a card base of Thick Basic White that is 5 1/2 x 8 1/2.  Score and fold at 4 1/4.  Burnish with a Bone Folder.

Both paper designs are in the Country Lane DSP pack.  The hearts measure 2 1/2 x 5 1/2.  The stripes are 1 3/4 x 5 1/2.  Glue both to the card front.  Tie some of the Black & White Gingham Ribbon around the card front over the seam where the 2 paper patterns meet.

Stamp the cat on a piece of Basic White.  I used the Stamparatus so that I could restamp until I had a good black image with my Memento Black pad.  Use the Stylish Shapes dies to cut out the cat using the using the second largest circle.  Cut a scalloped circle from the Layering Circles dies out of Sweet Sorbet.  Layer the two and then add to the card front with dimensionals.    Color in the heart with a Light Sweet Sorbet blend.

Stamp the saying from Love Cats in Memento Black on Basic White.  Cut out the pieces with your Paper Snips.  Add with glue dots.

Add some of the Matte Black Dots.  Let me just say here that I added the black dots after I had taken and edited my pictures.  I only redid the first picture because I was rushed for time.  It is just below the first picture of the post.  Please forgive.
