Card Base: Early Espresso 4 ¼ x 5 ½

Cardstock #2: Early Espresso 3 x 8 ½, score at 4 ¼

Cardstock #3: Whisper White 2 ¾ x 4 for insert, 4 x 4 for snowflakes

Cardstock #4: Shaded Spruce 4 x 4 for trees

Designer Paper #1: In Good Taste Dark Wood 2 pieces at 1 x 4 and one piece at 2 ¾ x 4

Designer Paper #2: In Good Taste Light Wood for largest oval of Stitched Shapes at 2 ¾ x 3 ½

Adhesive Sheets for Snowflakes and Trees, two at 4 x 4

Glue the two thin strips of dark wood from In Good Taste to the sides of the card front. This is a hamburger, long way, card. Watch your spacing around the edges.

Fold and burnish the long piece of Early Espresso card stock. Glue this piece to the card front between the two designer paper pieces. Spacing should be about the same.

Stamp the Whisper White insert. The saying is in Shaded Spruce ink and is from the In the Pines stamp set. Stamp with the four trees stamp at the bottom in Shaded Spruce. Stamp off Shaded Spruce to color the inside of the trees with this more solid stamp. Glue to the inside of the card.

Line the Whisper White card stock on one side with Adhesive Sheets cut to 4 x 4. Cut out the snowflakes using the So Many Snowflakes dies. Peal off the back to add the snowflakes. Note that some of the snowflakes will be covered with the oval, so they could possibly be cut in half.

Cut the light wood designer paper with the largest oval from the Stitched Shapes dies. With a scrap of Whisper White cut another piece with the largest oval that could represent the snow at the bottom of the oval. Glue this to the bottom of the oval. If there is room on your scrap with the Adhesive Sheets, that could be used for this piece. Glue to the center of the card front.

Add Adhesive Sheets to the back of the Shaded Spruce piece and cut out 1 large detailed tree and 2 small detailed tree. Peal the backing and add to the card.

Add several of the Snowflake Sequins on the card front.

Stamp the saying from In the Pines in Shaded Spruce on a ½ inch of Whisper White scrap. Punch the ends with the Banners Pick a Punch. Add to the card with dimensionals.

Blossoms in Bloom Easy Stamping

Welcome to another Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge #626.  This week we are using the colors Misty Moonlight, Mossy Meadow, and Cinnamon Cider.

Here is my card using the Blossoms in Bloom stamp set.

CCMC#626 Blossoms in Bloom by Jo Anne Hewins

This is a super simple card to make.  There's a few layers, stamping, and ribbon.  That's it!

The card base is Misty Moonlight that is 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and folded at 4 1/4.  The next layer is Cinnamon Cider cut to 3 7/8 x 5 1/8.

The Whisper White layer is 3 3/4 x 5.  First stamp the large cluster of flowers in Misty Moonlight ink near the bottom left corner.  Add leaves in Mossy Meadow throughout the flowers.  Stamp the saying in Mossy Meadow in the upper right corner.  Add two single flowers around the saying.  Make leaves for these flowers in Mossy Meadow.

Stamp Cinnamon Cider in the center of the flowers.  Stamp off for all of the flower centers.  The lone flowers have a different center.

Tape a length of the Misty Moonlight Ribbon across the card.  I tape from the back.  Add a bow with a glue dot.  You may want to add a glue dot under the ribbon that goes across too to hold it in place.

CCMC #626 Blossoms in Bloom Inside by Jo Anne Hewins

The inside of the cards looks almost like the outside.  The saying of course is different and there aren't any extra single flowers.  Easy peasy!

Stamping Around the World Blog Hop for January

Welcome to the Stamping Around the World Blog Hop for January.  This is our first blog hop and I'm so excited!

Stamping Around the World Blog Hop

This amazing group of stampers from around the globe have joined forces to offer you a fabulous tutorial of 10 cards.  This is our first month.  I can definitely say that I'm very proud to be a part of this group.  We decided that you just might want to get to know us a little better.   This blog hop will be perfect!  I'll get back to the tutorial a little later.

Our theme this time will be to use the same stamp set we featured in the tutorial.  This way, you'll get yet another sample for the stamp sets used.  I used the Wonderful Romance bundle.  Here is my card for today.

Wonderful Romance sentiment card by Jo Anne Hewins

I wanted to try using the technique of using blends with gold embossing.  I love how this card turned out.  It isn't that hard, but it is a little time consuming.  You'll also need the Rectangle Stitched Framelits Dies found on page 28 of the Occasions catalog.  The picture is stuck in a corner and might be easy to overlook.

Start with a card base of Shaded Spruce that is 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and folded at 4 1/4.

Cut a frame using the largest two rectangle dies and a 4 x 5 1/4 piece of Whisper White.  Set aside.

Take a piece of Shaded Spruce that is 4 x 5 1/4.  Rub the Embossing Buddy over the paper.  Stamp over this paper randomly with Versamark and the largest leaf cluster stamp.  Add Gold Emboss Powder and heat with the Heat Tool.  Now using the 2nd largest rectangle, and skip three to the next to cut a frame from this paper.

Stamp the sentiment from Wonderful Romance in Shaded Spruce in the center of a 2 1/2 x 4 Whisper White piece.  Cut using the smallest rectangle that you just used.

Add the Shaded Spruce frame to the card front centering as best as you can.  Now add the white frame on the outside.  I added this thinner one after the spruce to help keep it straight.  Put the last rectangle on the inside of the spruce frame.

Wonderful Romance sentiment close up by Jo Anne Hewins

Stamp 3 of the larger leaf clusters, 4 of the smaller leaf clusters, and 15 flowers in Versamark on Whisper White.  It's great to use up some of your white scraps.  Work in groups.  Stamp in Versamark, Gold Emboss Powder, and heat until all are done.  Use the Light and Dark Shaded Spruce and the Light and Dark Lovely Lipstick Blends to color these.  Cut out using the coordinating Wonderful Floral Framelits.  This is a lot to cut out.  This set of framelits does have 4 of the tiny flower dies so you can cut out a lot at one time!  Add these around the frame.  Don't cover up the beautiful embossing on the spruce frame.  I did put Mini Dimensionals under the outer leaf of the large clusters.  Glue the rest.  Add the flowers with glue dots.

This is so pretty in real life.

Winter Woods Thinking of You

Today I'm using the Winter Woods bundle on page 27 of the Holiday catalog as well as some other goodies from the Holiday catalog.  Here' my card.

Winter Woods and Dashing Deer by Jo Anne Hewins

There's lots of directions so let's get started.  The base of this card is Real Red.  It measures 5 1/2 x 8 1/2.  Fold at 4 1/4.

The Early Espresso layer is 3 3/4 x 5.

The background paper is from the Festive Farmhouse Designer Series Paper.  It measures 3 5/8 x 4 7/8.

Use 2 pieces of Whisper White measuring 1 1/2 x 3 5/8 for the snow.  There's a framelit with the In the Woods Framelits that will cut the hills of snow.  Place the back piece up about an inch and adhere.  The second piece fits along the bottom of the layer and will overlap the first one.

The three trees are cut from the Wood Textures 6 x 6 Designer Series Paper and adhere.  Have you tried the Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets?  These would be great to use for cutting out these trees.  I slipped the trunks of the trees a little behind the snow banks.

The deer comes from the Dashing Deer bundle.  It's on page 9.  Stamp the deer on a piece of Whisper White in Early Espresso.  Cut using the Detailed Deer Thinlits Dies.

The snowflakes are from the Blizzard Thinlits.  Cut from Whisper White.  The Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets would come in handy here, too.

Winter Woods close up by Jo Anne Hewins

The saying is from the Wishing You Well stamp set.  It's on page 35.  Stamp the saying in Real Red.

Tie a knot using the Real Red 3/8" Mixed Satin Ribbon.  Adhere with a glue dot.

Winter Woods inside by Jo Anne Hewins

For the inside, the saying is from Wishing You Well and is in Real Red.  The trees are from the Winter Woods stamp set.  I used the Stamparatus to stamp this to make sure there was great coverage.  Stamp in Early Espresso.
