Cards-Thinking of You

Let's Take to the Sky!

When it comes to Stampin' Up! I want it all!  Don't you!  Well, guess what, I just can't have it all.  For today's card I have used the Take to the Sky Designer Series Paper.  I did not use the Adventurous Sky bundle.  I think that I made a beautiful card with the paper alone.

Take to the Sky DSP Book Fold Perennial Postage dies Industrial Trinkets Basic Gray and Smoky Slate Pearls 2023-2025 In Color Jute Trim Jo Anne Hewins Luv 2 Create

I cannot take credit for using the Perennial Postage dies to make the stamps.  I saw a card using 6 of them and immediately thought about the Book Fold and how pretty 4 of the stamps would look.  I did a quick search of Pinterest and couldn't find that card again.  I'm so sorry about that.  I have found it.  Go to stampitupwithjamie.com.

The Book Fold is my favorite fold.  It's perfect if you want a square surface area.  My base is Copper Clay 4 1/4 x 11.  Score at 5 1/2 and 6 3/4.  Fold in half and then fold back at the next score line.

I used a Night of Navy backing for my designer paper for one reason only.  I wanted my sky paper to measure 4 x 4 in order to save paper in case we made this card in a class.  Oh, I guess I do have a second reason.  I love thin borders!  The Night of Navy piece for the large square is 4 1/8 x 4 1/8.  The navy for the side is 1 1/8 x 4 1/8.

For the large square, the designer paper is 4 x 4.  The paper for the side piece is 1 x 4.  Glue the pieces together and to the card base.

Let's talk about the side piece.  I used the 2023-2025 In Color Jute Trim.  Personally I feel this trim is too bulky so I divided it into strands.  I took two of the strands and tied them around the side area and into a knot.  Now glue the side piece shut.  If you wish you can tie the trim around the navy and DSP layer before you glue it down.  I think that's what I did for the sample.

Take to the Sky DSP Perennial Postage dies Industrial Trinkets Basic Gray and Smoky Slate Pearls 2023-2025 In Color Jute Trim Close Up Jo Anne Hewins Luv 2 Create

Take the smaller square die from the Perennial Postage dies and cut four different scenes from the designer paper.  I also used one inside.  The Night of Navy background is 2 7/8 x 2 7/8.  Glue the papers so that the open spaces meet to make them look like stamps.  Add dimensionals or Foam Adhesive Sheets to the back and add to the center of the square area.

The saying is from the Thoughtful Wishes stamp set.  I used a long piece of Basic White because it made me think of airplanes that sometimes have signs after them.  Stamp in Night of Navy.

Embellish with Industrial Trinkets and with the Basic Gray & Smoky Slate Pearls.  These embellishments are big.  That's why I placed them on the flat area of the card.

Here's the inside of the card.  Night of Navy 4 1/8 x 4 1/8.  Basic White 4 x 4.  This saying is also from Thoughtful Wishes.

It's hard for me to make masculine cards, but I think this card could go either way.  It turned out just the way I wanted it!  I hope this card has inspired you!  It's one of those that might look a wow, but isn't that hard to make.  I take the time to write out directions and hints because I want to find that kind of post.  It does take time.  I'm not sure that it is read by many, but it's here for those who want it.  I do sell Stampin' Up! supplies and would love to help you in that way as well.  Now go stamp something!

Country Birdhouse and Country Flowers

I hope you are enjoying your new Stampin' Up! catalog.  There's a mega suite located on pages 48-51 called the Country Woods Suite Collection.  The Suite consists of the Country Birdhouse bundle, the Country Flowers bundle, the Country Woods Designer Series Paper, the Country Lace Designer Series Paper, Basic Gray & Smoky Slate Pearls, Petal Pink & White Diagonal Trim Combo, and the Eyelet 3D Embossing Folder.  That's a lot of coordination going on!  I purchased the entire suite.  Not all items are being used in my card today, but there's a lot of cuteness going on!  Usually you can order the suite with one order number and that is so conveniet, but, you may see when ordering that the suite is not available right now.  Don't be deterred.  Right now the Petal Pink & White ribbon is not available.  The other parts of the suite are available!  Estimates are that the ribbon will return around June 10th, but by then something else might be out.  Order what you can if you really want it!  That is my lesson.

Now isn't that so cute!  We made this card in my classes last week, or a close version of it.  I think everyone enjoyed it.

The base is Thick Basic White 4 1/4 x 11, score and fold at 5 1/2.  Use a Bone Folder to burnish the fold.  The designer paper on the background is from the Country Lane 12 x 12 DSP.  I love the subtle eyelet lace of this paper.  It measures 3 1/2 x 4 1/2.  Glue to the center of the card front.

The designer paper for the birdhouse and the roof and bottom of the birdhouse is from the Country Woods 12 x 12 DSP.  Stamp the birdhouse on the Pool Party and wood paper in Early Espresso.  Cut this out with the Country Birdhouse dies.  Color the hole on the birdhouse with a  dark blend.  The roof and bottom are cut from a wood grain paper from the Country Woods paper.  The scalloped part of the roof is cut from Basic White.  Let me say here that there is another thin roof part that goes between the wooden roof and the white scallop.  Just to simplify the house a little, I left that part off.  The scalloped part does still cover that scalloped stamped part of the birdhouse.

Stamp the bird with Memento Black and color with the Pool Party and the Balmy Blue Combo Packs Blends.  I colored the beak and feet with a Peach Pie Stampin' Write Marker.  Use the bullet end.  Cut out the bird with the dies.

Stamp the saying from the Country Birdhouse stamp set in Early Espresso and fussy cut around it with Paper Snips.  Add the saying with dimensionals.

The leaves and flowers are cut using the Country Flowers dies.  The leaves are in Soft Sea Foam and the flowers are in Petal Pink.  Glue near the bottom of the card.  Color in the center of the flowers with Wink of Stella.

Add the bird with dimensionals

Cut the birdhouse holder from Early Espresso and add to the top of the card.  You might have to trim the bottom just a little.

For the inside, a saying from Country Birdhouse and another flower down in the corner.

The birdhouse is as cute as it can be, but if I were you, I'd take a look at the suite.

Unbounded Beauty Designer Series Paper Peekaboo Card

The Unbounded Beauty Designer Series Paper lives up to its name.  It's beautiful.  I have a very simple card for you today.  I have a really hard time with simplicity, but I love this card.

Let's Go Shopping Heartfelt Hexagon Punch Country Flowers dies Basic Rhinestone Gems Unbounded Beauty DSP Jo Anne Hewins Luv 2 Create

The star of this card is the Heartfelt Hexagon punch.  It's another reason this is a simple card.

The base of this card is one of the new In Colors Summer Splash 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and folded at 4 1/4.  It looks so pretty with this paper.

Take the Heartfelt Hexagon punch and punch from the bottom.  Move it over about 3/4 inch and push it all the way up.  My punch had a few tiny areas that didn't look quite smooth.  I was able to smooth it out with my fingers, but this gives me a little tip for you.  I got a piece of aluminum foil and folded it in half.  Then punch several times.  Be sure to clean out the punch each time.  Punching multiple times will sharpen the punch.  The result is nice clean lines when punching!

Choose three patterns from the Unbounded Beauty designer paper and punch 2 of two of them and 1 of the last.  Then glue the shapes on the front of the card using the hole as a guide.  Some of the shapes will extend past the front.  Just turn the card over and trim those pieces with scissors.

Add a piece of 4 x 5 1/4 Basic White to the inside of the card.  Use the Let's Go Shopping stamp set to stamp the words in Petunia Pop right through the hole.  Center them side to side and a little toward the top of the hole.

Let's Go Shopping Heartfelt Hexagon Punch Country Flowers dies Basic Rhinestone Gems Unbounded Beauty DSP Close Up Jo Anne Hewins Luv 2 Create

Use the Country Flowers dies for the flowers.  The leaves are cut in Summer Splash and the flowers are in Petunia Pop.  The larger flower fits in the area where we have the hole.  The other two are put wherever you please.  Add some Basic Rhinestone Jewels in the center of the flowers and you are done!

This is how the inside of the card looks.  It's kind of neat to make the outside saying and the inside saying all at once!

This card features two of our new In Colors, Summer Splash and Petunia Pop.  Which do like best?

2024-2026 In Color 6 x 6 DSP and Templates on Page 22

A big hello to you today!  Life is good!  The new 2024 Annual Catalog is live for Stampin' Up!  Do you have a copy?  Did you download the catalog if you don't have a hard copy?  Well, just in case here is the link to download the annual catalog.

Stampin' Up 2024 Catalog Download   Enjoy!

Now look on page 22 down at the bottom.  For those of us who create our own designs, there are 22 templates there for you.  It's not always easy to design a card.  With Pinterest and Facebook around, there are so many designs there for you to CASE (Copy and Share Everything).  Some of us like to design our own.  These templates can help when you need a little boost with the planning.  Designing is not always easy, but I'll tell you a secret.  It gets easier to design with practice.  I stand by that.

Today I have a card for you using the third template.  It has the 3 long rectangles with a circle on the lower right.

No title - 2024-05-01T132321.451

Now this card is very close to the template shared.  Of course you decide is you want a circle of a different shape, a ribbon across or designer paper, or whatever.  Designing makes it all up to you.  Many of you might copy a card and change a little something just because you prefer something different.  You are designing!

The base of this card is Petunia Pop 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and folded at 4 1/4.

The 2024-2026 In Color 6 x 6 Designer Series Paper is cut into 3 strips measuring 1 1/8 x 5.  I wasn't having the best of days when making this card and I didn't have the space between my strips evenly spaced.  So I ended up cutting around them and starting over.  In the meantime, I felt like some Basic White would add a little relief to the card front.  I cut Basic White strips to 1 1/4 x 5 1/8.  Glue the DSP to the white strips.  Lay these strips on the front of the card and space them.  Once you see what the space should be, glue the 2 outside strips with the space from the sides.  Then glue the center strip evenly spaced between the other two.

No title - 2024-05-01T132539.186

Once this is done, run ribbon around the card.  I used the white from the Petal Pink and Basic White Diagonal Trim Combo Pack.  This ribbon is one sided.  To make both sides look the same, twist one of the ends as you are tying the knot.  I usually put a glue dot under the tie to hold everything secure.

Stamp on a Basic White scrap the saying from Unbounded Love in Petunia Pop.  Cut this out using the Unbounded Love dies.  Buy them together as a bundle and save 10%!  Add the circle with dimensionals.

The flower and leaf are cut using the Country Flowers dies.  The flower is in Petunia Pop and the leaf is in Shy Shamrock.  Add these with glue dots.

No title - 2024-05-01T132735.015

Here's the inside of the card.  Guess what!  I told it wasn't my best day.  I messed up my sentiment.  That's easily fixed.  Stamp the saying on a Basic White scrap.  Cut using the Unbounded Love dies and glue in place.  I added more leaves and a flower as well.

This card is very simple and I think someone would just love to receive it!  Give it a try.  If you don't already have a demonstrator I would love to help you.  Just let me know.

Thoughtful Journey, Perennial Postage Dies, and Thoughtful Journey DSP

I won the Thoughtful Wishes bundle from my upline Patty Bennett.  In return I had to make 6 different samples using the bundle and add them to our team Facebook group.  That's right up my alley!  So, I thank Patty.  I've been sharing these cards on my blog as well.  You can see them all if you scroll down through my posts, or I'll link them at the end of this post.  So here is the card for today.  It's my favorite!

Thoughtful Wishes Bundle Perennial Postage dies Thoughtful Journey 6 x 6 DSP Basic Rhinestone Jewels Card Standing Jo Anne Hewins Luv 2 Create

I'll explain how I made this card.  It worked so well, but let me tell you it was all by accident.  The base is Night of Navy 5 1/2 x 8 1/2, score and fold at 4 1/4.

I'm going to show you the sheet of paper I used from the Thoughtful Journey 6 x 6 Designer Series Paper.  I'm not sure how to do this because of course this paper is copyrighted by Stampin' Up!  I have my watermark on the picture, so please be aware that this is Stampin' Up! designer paper.

Thoughtful Wishes Bundle Painted Texture EF 2024-2026 STampin' Write Markers Countryside Corners dies 2024-2026 In Color Resin Dots Linen Thread DSP copyright at Stampin' Up! Jo Anne Hewins Luv 2 Create

With this paper, cut 2 1/8 inches from the top.  Now cut again from the new top at 2 1/8 inches.  With this center piece, begin at the right and cut at 1 3/8.  Do this three times.  You'll have 3 pieces from the tree section that are 1 3/8 x 2 1/8.  Try to keep these in order of how they will be on the designer paper.

Use the Perennial Postage dies and cut three postage stamps from Night of Navy CS.  Find the 4 rectangles that are together and use the second largest one.

Glue the designer paper pieces to each navy card stock postage stamp shape.  Again, keep these pieces in order.

Take the top 2 1/8 inch paper from the designer paper.  Add this to a piece of Night of Navy That is 2 3/8 by 5 1/2.  Trim away the extra DSP fromt the end.  Use the measurements on your Grid Paper to add this panel to the center of the card front and to make sure that it is straight.

Thoughtful Wishes Bundle Perennial Postage dies Thoughtful Journey 6 x 6 DSP Basic Rhinestone Jewels Close Up Jo Anne Hewins Luv 2 Create

Cut the largest die from Thoughtful Wishes from Fresh Freesia card stock.  Cut the shape in half.  You might need to trim away here and there if the shape is sticking out in a weird place.  Glue the end pieces over the  large panel you just added.  Glue the ends of the fancy shape over each panel.  To glue, I add a glob of glue on a scrap piece of paper.  Take a wedge of sponge, dip into the glue and dob it on the shape.  Try not to move it or you'll get glue on the front.  Add the middle section with dimensionals.  Here's where you snip away any stray pieces!  I love how this looks so much!

You have the bottom section of designer paper left.  Cut this strip in half at 7/8 inches.  One piece goes at the top and one piece at the top butted up next to the panel glued to the center.  Now in a perfect world these two pieces would end up being the same amount from the top and bottom of the card base.   I admit that I had to trim one of them just a tiny bit.  Trim all edges even with the card base.

Stamp the saying from Thoughtful Wishes in Night of Navy on a white scrap.  Cut out the saying with one of the Perennial Postage dies.  Add the saying with glue on the left and a dimensional on the right.  Now it is opposite when you turn the saying over to add your adhesive.

Embellish with Basic Rhinestone Jewels.

Here is the inside of the card.  On the left is a piece of the Thoughtful Journey Designer Series Paper left over from another card.  The colors worked here too.  Add the large fancy cut out in Night of Navy with glue.  They saying is from Thoughtful Wishes.

I hope that all makes sense.  I did use almost all of my paper!
