Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge Falling for Leaves

Hello!  It's time for the Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge.  This week we are using Mint Macaron, Crumb Cake, and Blackberry Bliss.

I'm ready for fall here in the south, so I used the Falling for Leaves bundle from page 45 of the Holiday catalog.  This card was easy!

CCMC#531 Falling for Leaves by Jo Anne Hewins

Begin with a card base of Blackberry Bliss card stock.  It is 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and folded at 4 1/4.

The Crumb Cake layer is 3 1/2 x 4 3/4.  The Mint Macaron layer is 3 3/8 x 4 5/8.  This paper comes from the Subtles 6 x 6 Designer Series Paper.  I just love this paper.  It was new with the annual catalog this year.  You can get any color!  It comes in the color families!

Using the Detailed Leaves Thinlits, cut the solid leaf in Crumb Cake.  The Detailed leaf is cut from Blackberry Bliss.  Don't you just love the detail?  It's fantastic!  Adhere the two layers and then use dimensionals to add it to the card.

For the ribbon, I used the Nature's Twine.  I unravelled a 5" length of twine in the Crumb Cake, Blackberry Bliss, and Mint Macaron.  Then I put some of the strands from each color together and tied a loose knot.  Add with a glue dot.

The "Thankful" is part of the Falling for Leaves stamp set.  Stamp in Blackberry Bliss.

The saying for the inside is part of Falling for Leaves.  Add some leaves at the bottom from the same set.  I did stamp off the Crumb Cake and the Mint Macaron.

Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge #485, May Flowers Framelits

Happy Thanksgiving!  It's another Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge.  This time we have a color challenge.  We are using Berry Burst, Bermuda Bay, and Old Olive.

With it being Thanksgiving, I had to work in a fall kind of theme to the card.

I do really like this card!  These are great colors together!

Start with a card base of Berry Burst.  It measures 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and scored at 4 1/4.

The Whisper White layer is 4 x 5 1/4.  The Old Olive layer is 3 3/4 x 5.  The Whisper White layer measures 3 5/8 x 4 7/8.

Cut leaves using your Big Shot and the May Flowers Framelits.  Cut them in Berry Burst, Bermuda Bay, and Old Olive.  Place the leaves on the white layer in a pleasing way.  The easiest way to glue these down is to use the Silicone Mat.  Squeeze some of the Multipurpose Liquid Glue in the corner.  Use a piece of a sponge to put glue on the back of the leaf carefully.

Add a ribbon and bow in Berry Burst.  It's the Finely Woven Ribbon.

A Berry Burst 1/2 inch banner is added from the Color Theory Designer Series 6 x 6 stack.  Add another white banner.  The sentiment, stamped in Old Olive, is from the  Painted Harvest stamp set.  Notch the ends with the Triple Banner Punch.

I hope you have the happiest of Thanksgiving holidays.  Even if you are not in the US, it's always time to be thankful of so many things.  Did you know that thankful people are happy people?  Enjoy your family and friends!

Yet Another Painted Harvest Card!

The Painted Harvest stamp set is my very favorite in the Holiday catalog.  I'm not alone.  It's one of their best selling sets!  The versatility of the set is certainly one of the reasons.  I needed a relatively simple card to make for a swap.  This is the card.

Painted Harvest with acorns

Start with a card base of Emerald Envy measuring 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and scored at 4 1/4.

The Early Espresso layer is 3 11/16 s x 4 15/16.  Yes, that's a little weird.  The Whisper White layer is 3 3/4 x 4 3/4.  Use the Layered Leaves 3D Dynamic Textured Embossing Folder to add dimension to this layer.

A Whisper White circle is cut using the Stitched Shapes Framelits.

Stamp the leaves on scrap Whisper White.  Stamp both the detailed and solid versions in Emerald Envy.  Punch with the Leaf Punch.  You will need 4.

Stamp the acorns on white scrap.  The bottom of the acorn is Soft Suede and the top is Early Espresso.  Fussy cut them out.  You will need 3.

The sentiment is stamped in Early Espresso and is from the Blooms & Wishes stamp set.

Add a bow of the Crinkled Seam Binding in Emerald Envy.

The inside of the card is all Painted Harvest.  The words are stamped in Early Espresso, the acorns in Soft Suede and Early Espresso, and the leaves in Emerald Envy.

The card is very pretty and the best part of that it's a pretty quick card!  It's perfect for this week of Thanksgiving!

Thanks for time during this busy week.  I am happy to send you any catalogs if you don't already have a demonstrator!  Just let me know.

Quilt Builder Framelits Meets Painted Autumn Designer Series Paper

For my card today, I used the Quilt Builder Framelits.  I paired them with the Painted Autumn Designer Series Paper and the Painted Harvest stamp set.

Quilt Builder Framelits

This makes a great fall and/or Thanksgiving card.

Start with a base of Lemon Lime Twist cut at 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and scored at 4 1/4.

The Early Espresso layer measures 3 5/8 x 4 7/8 and the Very Vanilla layer is cut at 3 1/2 x 4 3/4.

Cut the quilt square from a 3 inch piece of Lemon Lime Twist.  You'll also need to use the square framelit around the outside.  This can all be cut at one time.  Just make sure the inside piece is placed with all sides equal in the larger square.  I hope that makes sense.

Cut the square from 2 different 3 inch pieces of the Painted Autumn patterned paper.  You will not need that outside square for this.

I hear that the Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets are perfect to use with this project.  I did not do that.  Glue the Lemon Lime Twist outline to the top portion of the vanilla paper.  Add some glue in each section of the quilt and place the pieces inside.  It's like completing a puzzle!  I did use the back of one of the papers also to get the three patterns.

Quilt Builder fall card inside

A small Early Espresso heart from the Mini Treat Bag Framelits is added to the center.

Along the bottom of the card, use several banners.  The patterned banners are 1/2 inch wide and notched on the ends.  The sentiment is from the Painted Harvest stamp set and stamped in Early Espresso.  The espresso heart is from the Wood Crate Framelits.

Quilt Builder fall inside

The sentiment inside is also from Painted Harvest.  Tiny 1/4 inch banners are added to the bottom.  The small heart is from the Mini Treat Bag Framelits.

Paper quilting is the only kind I can do, but this sure is fun!  You just might want to try it!

Thank you for looking at my blog today.  I appreciate your time.  I would love to be your demonstrator if you don't already have one.  Let me know if you would like a catalog!

NC Demo Hop, Being Thankful

Welcome to the North Carolina Demo Blog Hop!  I am thankful that you are here.  You might have just come from Tamra's blog.  Great ideas, right!

Of course, we turn to thankful thoughts as we get closer to Thanksgiving.  Yes, I said Thanksgiving.  Did you know that a thankful person is a happier person?  Think about how you feel when someone tells you thank you or that they are thankful to have you as a friend.  I challenge you to do just that.  Send them a card!  That's why you make them, isn't it?  Here is my card for today.

Remarkable You NC Demo Blog Hop

Stampin' Up! is bringing out their brand new Blends.  They will be available on November 1st!  Blends are alcohol markers that color beautifully.  I used them on my card for today.  It was so much fun to color!

Start with a card base of Calypso Coral measuring 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and scored at 4 1/4.

The Whisper White layer measures 4 x 5 1/4.  Stamp using Smoky Slate and the Sheet Music Background stamp.  Yes, we do have that lovely Merry Music Specialty Designer Series Paper, but it's Christmas.  You might not want Jingle Bells on your thankful card.  This background stamp is beautiful.

For the Blends, you need to stamp using the Tuxedo Black Memento Ink pad.  This ink will not run when alcohol is added.   Stamp the leaves from Remarkable You near the bottom left of the card.  Color these using the Light Old Olive and the Dark Old Olive pens.  Play with it.  You might even try some on scrap card stock first.  Some say to use the dark pen and then light.  Some say to color the whole image with the light color, add dark where you want it, and then blend again with the light.  Have fun with it!  The music might blend in with the leaf color or it might show through a little.  Either or both is great!

Stamp the flower and the leaves on Thick Whisper White.  Color the leaves again just as you did earlier.  Color in the flower using the Light Calypso Coral and the Dark Calypso Coral.  I left the tips of the flower white.  I also used the Color Lifter to lighten a few areas on the flower.

Cut out the flower and glue to the card.  I cut down each side of the largest petal in the center and put dimensionals under that petal for interest.

Some of the individual leaves were cut out and added on top of the leaves already stamped on the card.  Glue dot the end near the stem and put a mini dimensional near the top of the leaf.  Do this for several of the leaves.  I did not do it for all of the leaves.  I did add a couple leaves coming out behind the flower.

Remarkable You up close

Add a bow of the Gingham Smoky Slate ribbon.  That ribbon just makes the card.

The sentiment is from Remarkable You.  It's stamped in Calypso Coral on a 1/2 inch strip.  The beginning of the sentiment is cut off.  Notch the end.  I did put a glue dot on the left and and a dimensional on the right.

Remarkable You inside

Here is the inside of the card.  It's just as pretty as the outside, isn't it!  Stamp the 4 x 5 1/4 Whisper White layer with the Sheet Music Background stamp in Smoky Slate.  Stamp the leaves with Memento ink and color with the Old Olive Blends just as on the front.  The sentiment is from Count My Blessings.  Stamp on Whisper White and cut out with the Layering Circles.

Remarkable You with Blends

You'll be seeing more about the Blends in the days to come.  But just note, that they are something you are going to want.  You will love them!

Thanks so much for joining our blog hop.  Next up is Tracie.  You will love her project today.
