Facebook Live 8.20.2021 Delicate Dahlias for Sale-a-Bration

My Facebook Live was two days late, but here it is at last.  Thanks for being patient with me.  Today we are using the Delicate Dahlias stamp set.  This set is available for free with a $100 purchase during Sale-a-Bration in August and September.

DELICATE DAHLIAS PHOTOPOLYMER STAMP SET (ENGLISH)

Isn't it a beautiful set?  Just wait until you see it in action.

I'm going to go ahead and post the video first and I'll details and more pictures following.

I hope you enjoyed the video.  Please consider subscribing to my YouTube channel.  I would love that and you'll know when I release a new one.

Delicate Dahlias for Facebook Live 8.18.2021 by Jo Anne Hewins

For my first card, the base is Evening Evergreen 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and folded at 4 1/4.  The patterned paper is from the Painted Christmas Designer Series Paper.  It's cut to 4 x 5 1/4.

I used Calypso Coral, Real Red, and Cherry Cobbler for my flower.  I show you how I did it on the video.  For the leaves use Pear Pizzazz and Evening Evergreen.  The leaves and flower are cut out with our snips and added to the card with dimensionals.  The saying is on a 1/2 inch piece of Basic White scrap.  I used the Gold Shimmer Ribbon from the Mini catalog to tie a knot.  Add with glue dots.  Finish with some of the Gilded Gems.

I did show how to use the masking technique for the inside of the card.

Delicate Dahlias in Blackberry for Facebook Live 8.18. 2021 by Jo Anne Hewins

I just love the colors for this card.  I used Blackberry Bliss and Granny Apple Green.

Begin with a base of Thick Basic White of 5 1/2 x 8 1/2, score and fold at 4 1/4.  Again I used the masking technique for this card.

When creating your own background it's best to begin with your largest image and work down to the smallest.

Use the Scalloped Contours dies for the panel.

Finish the card with some of the Basic Rhinestones.

Delicate Dahlias by Jo Anne Hewins for Facebook Live 8.18.2021 Card

This is the last card.  The colors used are Fresh Freesia, Highland Heather, Gorgeous Grape, and Granny Apple Green.

The base is Thick Basic White with the same measurements as the other cards.

The panel is cut from Fresh Freesia card stock.

And here are all three of the cards we made today.

Color Fusers Blog Hop for August, 2021

Welcome to the Color Fusers Blog Hop for August.  We are using the colors Just Jade, Gorgeous Grape, Highland Heather, and Basic Gray.  These colors sound so delightful, don't they?  You might be coming from Melanie's post.  She is so creative.  You may be starting here.  Either is fine.  I do hope you'll complete the entire hop.  I think you'll be inspired!

I'll be featuring some of our new products that will be available to all beginning August 3rd.  Yes, the August-December Mini Catalog goes live on Tuesday and so does the Sale-a-Bration brochure.  Yes, there is a 2nd Sale-a-Bration this year!  I don't think this has ever happened before!  You can earn free product during August and September with qualifying purchases.

Color Fusers August Nature's Harvest Project by Jo Anne Hewins

This is my card for today.  It uses the Nature's Harvest Bundle.  That's the stamp set and the Harvest Dies.  Find this on pages 54-56.

The base of my card is Thick Basic White 4 1/4 x 11 and scored and folded at 5 1/2.  The front is covered with the Basic Gray and white checked paper from the Peaceful Place Designer Series Paper found on page 37 of the mini catalog.  It is cut to cover the front of the card at 4 1/4 x 5 1/2.

The Basic White label is cut using the Seasonal Labels dies.  It's amazing how well all the Stampin' Up! products can work together!  This label was added with dimensionals. Page 66.

For the flowers, cut first 3 flowers from Just Jade using the Harvest dies.  Then cut just the flowers from Gorgeous Grape and from Highland Heather (3 of each).  For the grape, trim away the piece of stem.  For the heather, cut away the center of the flowers.  To add interest use Sponge Daubers to add color to all the pieces.  Glue together.  Also add color to the stems.  Add the flowers with dimensionals.

Color Fusers August Nature's Harvest Close Up by Jo Anne Hewins

To fill in some of the areas, I added some more greenery using the Seasonal Labels dies.  I cut 4 leaf stems.  Sponge and add where you please.  Use dimensionals.

Trim the greenery across the bottom where the sentiment will go.  Stamp the saying in Gorgeous Grape on Basic White.  Cut with the Harvest dies.  Add with dimensionals on each end.

Finish the card with some of the 2020-2022 In Color Square Gems.

Next up is Melissa.  She always has a super creative take on our colors so don't miss her.  After Next Stop and the Previous Stop buttons, I do have a little announcement.

You may have noticed that I have two watermarks on my projects today.  I'll be using both in the future.  I have added this mark.

L2S Artisan Crafter watermark (1)Stampin' Up! has its Artisan Design Team.  They represent the SU company and stampers with their creativity and knowledge and hints.  We have several of these stampers on our Color Fusers team in fact.  They are stampers chosen by SU from thousands of demonstrators who applied to represent the company.  Mine is different.  As a downline of Patty Bennett and part of her Luv 2 Stamp team, she has chosen 3 people to be Artisan Crafters for her team.  I appreciate this honor.  Patty has over 400 people on her team.  We'll be posting in social media with the #L2SgroupArtisanCrafter.  We'll also have a Pinterest Board found at Luv 2 Stamp Group Artisan Crafter Team.  As part of this group I'll be sharing with you at least two projects each week using products from the August-December Mini and/or the Sale-a-bration Brochure.  I so look forward to this!  The others chosen are Leticia Hernandez and Tammy Civello.

Well Suited Comfort & Hope

Welcome to the Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge #653.  This week we have a sketch.

CCMC653

I decided to use the Well Suited Designer Series Paper for my card.  Since the colors are chose are muted, I felt this would make a good sympathy card.  We hate to need these, but they are a fact of life.

CCMC #653 Forever Blossoms Card by Jo Anne Hewins

My card base is Thick Basic White measuring 4 1/4 x 11, score and fold at 5 1/2.  Place the fold at the left.

The paisley paper from the Well Suited DSP is so pretty.  I used it to cover the entire front of the card.  Cut to 4 1/4 x 5 1/2.  I do think there is some directionality to this paper.  I made the paisleys go up and down.

Use the Stitched Rectangles for the panels.  There are 4 dies set by themselves.  Use the second largest of those.  Add with dimensionals.  Start with the far left.  Add the others using dimensionals and glue.  Add glue where the panels overlap and the paper is already elevated.

CCMC #653 Forever Blossoms Close Up by Jo Anne Hewins

Stamp the flower spray from the Forever Blossoms stamp set on Thick Basic White.  Stamp in Smoky Slate ink.  Color with the Petal Pink Combo and the Soft Sea Foam Combo of blends.  Cut out with the Cherry Blossoms dies.  Glue across the panels.

The saying is from the Comfort & Hope stamp set.  Stamp in Basic Gray ink.  Trim around and glue to the panels.  You might need a dimensional at the far right.

Add some of the Elegant Faceted Gems on the card front.

CCMC#653 Forever Blossoms Inside by Jo Anne Hewins

For the inside of the card, the saying is from Comfort & Hope in Basic Gray.  Add a strip of the designer paper 3/4 x 5 1/2.  Stamp the single flower and double leaf in Smokey Slate and color, cut out, and glue to the inside of the card on the paper strip.

Prized Peony Sympathy Card

FB_IMG_1606276450382

It's a hard fact to face, but sometimes we need sympathy cards.  That's what I have for you today.  I'm using the Prized Peony stamp set.  It's an easy card today.  Let's face it making a sympathy card is not that fun.  You have to think of the comfort it might lend to those receiving it.  Of course this card can lend itself for any occasion just by changing the sentiment.

Prized Peony Sympathy Card by Jo Anne Hewins

The card base is Early Espresso that is 4 1/4 x 11, scored and folded at 5 1/2.

The next layer is Whisper White.  It is cut to 3 7/8 x 5 1/8.

The next layer just makes the card.  You might be surprised to find out that this pattern is from the Snowflake Splendor Designer Series Paper!  Cut the layer to 3 3/4 x 5.  Stamp the large peony on this layer in Early Espresso.  To be sure that your image is perfect, I suggest that you line up the stamp on the Stamparatus.  That way you can stamp again if needed.

Use Pool Party ink and a sponge dauber to add just a little extra color to the flower and flower bud.  Use Mint Macaron ink and a dauber to add a little color to the leaves.  This won't be perfect, but it isn't meant to be.

Prized Peony Sympathy Close Up by Jo Anne Hewins

Tie a length of the Pool Party Sheer Ribbon around the card and tie a bow.  I like to place a glue dot under the first tie.  It holds the ribbon in place so you can finish tying the bow.

The saying is from the Prized Peony stamp set.  Stamp in Early Espresso.  Cut out using the Ornate Frames dies.  Add to the card with dimensionals.

Add some of the Elegant Faceted Gems to complete the card.

Prized Peony Sympathy Inside by Jo Anne Hewins

The saying for the inside is from the Peaceful Moments stamp set.  Stamp the flower again and adding just a little color as you did to the front.

Prized Peony Sympathy Project by Jo Anne Hewins

And there you go.  It's a lovely card.

I thank you for your time today.  Have a beautiful day and I hope that you have some time to stamp.  It will make you happy.  It's my happy place!
