Wild Fern Bundle One Card and a Little Stepped Up

You'll find the Wild Fern bundle on page 21 of the January-April Mini catalog.  It might be a bundle that you have overlooked.  I here to help you take a second look.

I love the way Stampin' Up! has wonderful products that work so well together.  The Fern 3D embossing folder is a perfect pair.  The Wild Fern dies will work great with the Timeless Arrangements dies as well.  Both of these die sets have wonderful rectangles that work great with loads of the sayings that you probably have.  The Wild Ferns stamp set has some wonderful sayings!

Wild Fern Bundle Fern EF Shaded Spruce Neutrals Adhesive Backed Sequins Jo Anne Hewins Luv 2 Create

This card has a base of Shaded Spruce 5 1/2 x 8 1/2, scored and folded at 4 1/4.

The Basic White layer is 4 1/8 x 5 3/8.  Run it through the Cut & Emboss Machine with the Fern 3D embossing folder.  Glue to the card front.

Cut one of the Wild Fern dies attached to a corner from Shaded Spruce.  Figure how where you want it and glue to the card front.

Stamp your saying of choice on Basic White and cut out using the Wild Ferns dies.  Add this piece on dimensionals making sure that the borders of spruce are even on the side and top.

Use a Dark Shaded Spruce blend to color one of the white sequins from the Neutrals Adhesive-Backed Sequins.

That's all there is to it!

Wild Fern Bundle Fern EF Shaded Spruce Neutrals Adhesive Backed Sequins Modern Oval Punch Jo Anne Hewins Luv 2 Create

This card is stepped up just a little.  The base of the card is Thick Basic White 5 1/2 x 8 1/2.  Score and fold at 4 1/4.  Be sure to use your Bone Folder to burnish the fold well.

You'll need to punch 6 Basic White ovals using the Modern Oval Punch.  Find it on page 35 of the mini.  Emboss these ovals with the Fern EF.

Glue the first row at top by leaving a little space.  Let the ovals meet in the middle.  For the next row leave a little space again.  Add an oval to the center.  Use another oval and cut in half.  Add one of the pieces to each end.  The last row is a repeat of the first.  Turn over the paper and trim any extras even with the card base.  Try to make the spacing even between all shapes.

Cut another of the fern cutouts.  Place this so that the saying can be verical.

Stamp the sayin, cut it out, and add with dimensionals just as in the first card.

Color more sequins and add.

Three Cards Using the Meandering Meadows Designer Series Paper

I've been making videos for several years.  In fact I have 187 videos on my YouTube channel.  Mind you, I'm not one of the popular demonstrators for Stampin' Up!  I don't have a lot of sales.  I do have 1.62 subscribers and I'm proud of that.  I did have one video in July that has had 9,461 views as I write this post.  I don't understand it, but I am thrilled.  I don't know why this particular video is popular.  It's a video showing the One Horse Open Sleigh Designer Series Paper from the Online Exclusives.  I showed three ways to use that scenery paper without a lot of waste.  You can find it here.

There's a new group of Online Exclusives that will be released for everyone on November 7th!  Be sure to check out the Online Exclusives here.  The Meandering Meadow 6 x 6 Designer Series Paper is yet another scenery paper that you will love.  It is beautiful.  I wanted to make something to show off this paper.  I've decided to make the cards from that successful video using the new designer paper!

Here are my new cards.  All of the measurements are the same.  I've used the Courage & Faith stamp sets and the Heartfelt Hexagons bundle.  The Heartfelt Hexagons bundle was available for World Card Making Day and is still online.

This paper makes you think spring can't be far away even as we go into winter!

Meandering Meadow 6 x 6 DSP Pull to the Left Card Heartfelt Hexagon Courage and Faith Jo Anne Hewins Luv 2 Create

This is the first card.  The card base is Petal Pink.  Here are the measurements.

Card 1

Base is 5 1/2 x 8 1/2, scored at 1 1/2 and 4 1/4

Cut 3/4 inch from the bottom of the DSP to make it 6 x 5 1/4

Cut paper at 2 3/4, 1 1/8, piece left is 2 1/8

Basic White inside 1 3/4 x 5 1/4

The stamping is done in Orchid Oasis.  I did add a strip of DSP inside instead of the white.  This was from a back of another piece of the same paper.

Meandering Meadow 6 x 6 DSP Pull to the Left Card Inside Heartfelt Hexagon Courage and Faith Jo Anne Hewins Luv 2 Create

The Adhesive-Backed Sequin Trio was used for embellishments.

Here is the second card.

The base of this card is Melon Mambo.  Here are the measurements.

Card 2

Cut 6 x 6 at the bottom so that you have 6 x 5 3/8

Cut paper at 2 and 2 again leaving a 2 inch piece. Keep pieces in order on all of these cards.

Basic White inside 2 x 5 3/8

Meandering Meadow 6 x 6 DSP 2 score fold inside Heartfelt Hexagon Courage and Faith Jo Anne Hewins Luv 2 Create

Stamping is done in Melon Mambo.  The Glossy Dots Assortment was used for embellishments.

Meandering Meadow 6 x 6 DSP Bay Window Card Heartfelt Hexagon Courage and Faith Jo Anne Hewins Luv 2 Create

The third card is my favorite.  The base is Lemon Lime Twist.  I think it's my favorite because I don't like pink and I love green.

Card 3

Base is 4 1/4 x 11, score at 3/8, 1 7/8, 3 5/8, 5 1/8, 5 1/2

Cut 6 x 6 paper across bottom as that it is 6 x 4 1/8

Cut designer paper at 1/4, 1 3/8, 1 5/8, 1 3/8, 1/4, piece left is 1 1/8.  Keep the pieces in order.

Basic White 3 3/4 x 4 1/8

Use the green ribbon in the Ribbon Duo Combo Pack.  Embellishments are the Adhesive-Backed Speckled Dots.

I hope you have enjoyed these cards.  Go back and look at the video linked above.  Thank you for watching.

I don't make videos as often as I used to do them.  If there is something you would want me to do, please let me know.  Meanwhile thank you for your support.  I do love to share my cards with you!

Inked & Tiled for the Tutorial Medley Group

I belong to a private Facebook group of about 16 SU demonstrators.  Each month we design 1 card and tutorial to add to the group.  These are then compiled.  We can use these as we wish.  These demonstrators are located across the USA and Canada.  I choose to share my large tutorial with my Luv 2 Create team and with my customers.  I love being able to share these.

Inked and Tiled Card August Tutorial Medley Timeworn Tile 3D EF Painted Texture 3D EF Linen Thread Stylish Shapes dies Tinsel Gems Three-Pack Jo Anne Hewins Luv 2 Create

This is the card that I created for August.  I used the Inked & Tiled stamp set from the annual catalog.  There is a little fussy cutting, but it's easy cutting.

I'm not going to go through all the directions here, but I will link the tutorial.  Find it Download Inked & Tiled - August 2023 (1)

I hope you enjoy the tutorial.  I'll be sending out the tutorial collection for August later in the month by email.  Meanwhile, here are a few more pictures.

Fragrant Flowers Sympathy Card and a Download Tutorial

For our Tutorial Medley group this month, our theme has been using brand new product from the January-April Mini and the Sale-a-Bration Brochure!  Don't you love using new stuff!  I'm using both of those catalogs for my card today.

Fragrant Flowers Card Favored Flowers DSP Metallic Mesh Ribbon Jo Anne Hewins Luv 2 Create

This card is beautiful if I do say so myself.  We'll be making this card in my easier class this month.  I had a request for sympathy cards.  We don't want to make them, but it's so nice to have a few made up to use.

Since I have the tutorial written, I won't go into all the details here.  To download, Download Fragrant Flowers Tutorial

I will post a few more pictures for the card.

Favored Flowers Designer Series Paper for Sale-a-Bration

There's just one more day until our January-April Mini Catalog and Sale-a-Bration begin.  I get so excited this time of year.

Today I have a simple fun fold for you using the Favored Flowers Designer Series Paper from SAB.  This paper is so pretty!  If you are a lover of flowers, you will have to have this paper.

Favored Flowers DSP Country Gingham DSP Something Fancy Jo Anne Hewins Luv 2 Create

The base of this card is Petal Pink CS cut 4 1/4 x 11.  Score at 5 1/2 and then cut off 1 1/4 from the front of the card.

Cut a piece of the Fragrant Flowers paper to 4 x 4 and glue to the front of the card.

Favored Flowers DSP Country Gingham DSP Something Fancy Opal Rounds Close Up Jo Anne Hewins Luv 2 Create

For the saying use a piece of Basic White cut to 1 x 3.  The saying is stamped in Mossy Meadow ink using the Something Fancy stamp set.  Cut a flower out with paper snips.  There are dies in the Fragrant flowers bundle that can cut out the flowers for you.  It does leaves a black border around the flowers.  In this case, I didn't want that border. Add the saying with dimensionals.  Add the flower.  Part will need to be glued to the saying.  The part extending over the saying will need more dimensionals.

Embellish with Elegant Faceted Gems.

Cut a piece of the Country Ginghams Designer Series Paper for the inside of the card.  This pack of paper is in the mini catalog.  Cut 1 1/4 x 4.  You will see this paper from the front of the card.

Favored Flowers DSP Country Gingham DSP Something Fancy Opal Rounds Inside of Card Jo Anne Hewins Luv 2 Create

The saying is from the Good Feelings stamp set in the annual catalog.  I used the Stamparatus for this so that I would have a good solid dark saying.
