Free Friday Tutorial Senior Years by Gillian Rouge

It's another Free Friday Tutorial and we are using the stamp set Senior Years.  It's appropriate.  My husband John turned 70 on the 18th.  Let me say I am younger than him and we'll stop at that!  The tutorial today is by Gillian Rouge.

Basic Black scraps for sentiment

Designer Series Paper: 2 1/2” x 1 3/8” (cut two using Stitched Rectangle Dies)

Instructions:

Using Tuxedo Black Memento ink, stamp the man and woman onto the die-cut Whisper White rectangles and on the bottom of the larger Whisper White piece for the inside of the card (see photo below.) Stamp the inside sentiment also. Color the images in with Stampin’ Blends. For the shadow/background around the images, use the Pool Party Light Stampin’ Blend, then fade out the edges using the Color Lifter.

Emboss the Crumb Cake panel with Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder and attach to the front of the card base with Dimensionals.

Attach the two DSP panels to the card front with Dimensionals.

Attach the two Whisper White Panels to the card front with Dimensionals, being careful to avoid the areas where they will overlap the DSP.

Use scraps of Basic Black to stamp and heat emboss the sentiment several times, and cut apart as shown on card. For the ‘ITS UPS…’, mask off the ‘AND DOWNS’ when inking up with Versamark, and add the three dots with a white gel pen.

Attach the sentiment pieces to the card front with Dimensionals.

Attach the large Whisper White panel to the inside of the card.

Add embellishments to the card front as desired.

Floral Essence Retirement Card

Two of my friends and team members retired recently.  It took me a while to get cards made for them.  I love how these cards turned out.  I hope they do.  I'm excited for them!  I see girl lunches in the future for a group of us!  Here is the card I made for them.  It actually does look better in person!

Floral Essence Retirement Card by Jo Anne Hewins

Kaye is a lover of purple.  That's where I started.  The base is Gorgeous Grape measuring 4 1/4 x 11 and folded at 5 1/2.  The next layer is Granny Apple Green that is 3 3/4 x 5.   Finally there is a Whisper White layer measuring 3 5/8 x 4 7/8.

Stamp the largest flowers from the Floral Essence stamp set in Gorgeous Grape.  Change the orientation of the stamp.  It's OK to stamp off the edge of the layer.  Now stamp the smaller flowers in Highland Heather working them in among the larger flowers.  Stamp the center in each flower with Daffoldil Delight.  Note that both flower sizes have their own center that fits it.  Add in leaves in Granny Apple Green.  Some seem to be attached to flowers and some leaves are just out there.  Fill in some of the empty spaces.  Color the leaves with the Light Granny Apple Green Blend.

Color all of the remaining white with the Light Pool Party Blend.

Wrap the White Baker's Twine around this layer 3 times.  Add to the card.

Floral Essence Retirement Close Up by Jo Anne Hewins

For the label, stamp the sentiment in Gorgeous Grape.  These words are in the Well Said stamp set.  Cut out the label with the Stitched Shapes Dies.  Cut with the sentiment toward the left of the label.  Stamp a couple leaves and color in.  Stamp another flower in Highland Heather on white scrap.  Cut out and add to the label.  Add the label with dimensionals.

Floral Essence Retirement Inside of Card by Jo Anne Hewins

The sentiment on the inside of the card is from the Tasteful Textures stamp set.  Add a flower in Gorgeous Grape.
