This month’s theme is Sweet Treat - a 3D item.
I'm so glad that you are here!
I have a treat bag and matching card for you today.  This bag has been around for a while.  I have  updated it with current supplies.  Warning!  This post is rather lengthy.  There's a video as well.

I'm using the Country Floral Lane Designer Series Paper for both of these projects.  Begin with 2 matching sheets of this paper both cut to 6 x 6.  Determine if the designer paper you are using has a  directionality.  If so you'll want to place the top of your paper so that it is along the left side of the Simply Scored.  Score at 3/4.  Turn your paper and score the other 3 sides at 1 1/2.  Do this for both of your papers.
When typing up this post I decided I needed more pictures to explain.  I had to change designer papers because I had used all of the other one.  This one is still from Country Floral Lane.  Please excuse that.  I think it's easier done than said.  This paper may show the directionality thing a little better.

Fold and burnish the folds with your Bone Folder.  The top smaller fold will be folded down.  All of the other folds are mountain folds.  One one of the papers cut out the bottom left and right corners on the score lines with your Paper Snips.  Remember that the top fold is the smallest one.  On the other piece cut from the side on the bottom score line into the next score line on both sides.

Add a piece of cardboard from a pack of designer paper cut 1 3/8 x 2 7/8 to the bottom of the piece that has the missing corners.

Glue the bottom center of the other piece onto the bottom of the first piece.  Watching the score lines.

Here it is turned to the other side.

You will glue the center little flaps next.  Put glue on the side that has the print of the outside of the bag.  You will glue these to the inside of the bag.  Glue to the same piece of paper (the one that just has the slits cut out.  This will allow that front of the finished bag to look nicer.
Glue the sides of the bag to the outside.
I added glue dots under the top folded down flap where it stuck out a little on each side.

To decorate the bag, cut a tag from coordinating designer paper from the Country Floral Lane paper.  Use the second largest more ornate tag from the Tailored Made Tags dies.
The plain and detailed leaves are cut from Mint Macaron using the Summer Shadows dies.  Glue together and add with dimensionals to the tag.
The white flowers are also cut from the Summer Shadows dies.  You'll cut 3 of the smaller flower in Basic White.  Curl the petals with your Bone Folder and attach the flowers with glue dots setting eac flower just a little askew from the others.  For the center of the flower use the Hydrangea dies.  I cut 3 from designer paper.  Use that long die with lots of flowers attached.  Glue together a little askew.  Take some kind of rounded end (I used an old paper piercer) and put it in the center of the flowers.  Push into a soft surface like the Paper Pierce Mat to get some dimension.  Glue to the center of the flower.  Add the flower with a dimensional.

The tiny tag is made using the Hydrangea Haven stamp set and the Hydrangea dies.  Use Petal Pink to stamp.  I added this with a glue dot at the hole and a dimensional out near the end.
Take the white twine from the Baker's Twine Essentials Pack and color with a Dark Petal Pink Blend.
Add a bow just under the flower and a little twine at the end of the tag.
Use the Elegant Faceted Gems to embellish.
Add the tag with dimensionals to the bag.
For the handles color White Crinkled Seam Binding with the Dark Petal Pink Blend.  I used 2 pieces about 10 inches long.  Punch holes on each side.  Pull the twine through.  Usually, you can just tie a knot and you'll be good to go.  The seam binding would pull through even with the knot.  I used some invisible tape to hold it on the inside.

I added a 3 x 3 card to accompany my bag.  There are 3 x 3 white envelopes on page 137 in the annual catalog.  They come in a pack of 40.

I cut a 3 x 6 piece of Thick Basic White cardstock.  Score at 3.  Add a piece of designer paper cut to 2 7/8 x 2 7/8.
Use the Tailor Made Tags dies to cut another tag the same size as above from Basic White.  This tag is actually too long.  I show in the video how you can shorten the tag.
Cut the detailed leaves using the Summer Shadows dies and Mint Macaron cardstock.
Cut the flower from coordinating paper using the same dies.
Stamp and cut out another small tag from Basic White using the Hydrangea Haven stamp set and Hydrangea dies.

Assemble all of your pieces and add a bow.  Again color the white twine with a Dark Petal Pink Blend.
Add more designer paper to the flap of the envelope.  That's also in the video.

I hope you'll contine on the hop.  There are some great 3D ideas and Valentines as well.  You don't want to miss any of them.

A Lovely Little Sneak Peek

As a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, I get preorder some items from the brand new upcoming 2017-2018 annual catalog.  Of course I want to use those items as soon as I get them.  I know you can't get the Lovely Inside & Out stamp set yet, unless you are a demo, but you will be able to get it in about three weeks!  You could just go ahead and sign up.  Get in touch with me if you have questions.  Here is my card for today.

Lovely Inside & Out

If you have followed me in the past, you know that I send some shut ins from church and some others cards each month.  I realized yesterday that Mother's Day is almost here.  They, the shut ins, will be looking for a card.  I no longer have my mom, but I want to honor these moms.  Maybe it's a way to honor my mom, too.  I pulled out the stamp set Lovely Inside & Out for my card.  They are made on the Whisper White Note Cards & Envelopes.  This is a great card if you are making multiples.  Here are the details.

  • Stamp the flower in the middle of the note card in Pool Party.  Add a leaf in Lemon Lime Twist.
  • The Fresh Fig flower is stamped on Whisper White and punched out with the 1 1/2" circle punch.  The Powder Pink flower is also stamped on Whisper White and punched out with the 1 3/4" circle punch.  Stamp enough flowers for all of the cards you are making.
  • The leaves are stamped on Whisper White in Lemon Lime Twist and in Old Olive. You'll need twice as many olive leaves.  You will need to fussy cut the leaves, but they are so easy.  Here's a hint:  You don't need to cut the bottom of the leaf nicely.  It will be behind the flower.  I taped the leaves to the back of each flower.  Adhere the flowers and leaves to the card with dimensionals.
  • Most of my cards had Happy Mother's Day on them.  That sentiment came from the Thoughtful Banners stamp set.  Several others will be thank you cards.  That sentiment is also from Thoughtful Banners.  They are stamped in Fresh Fig.
  • Did you notice the little triangle?  That was the first time I ever noticed it.  It's in Thoughtful Banners.  My card needed a little something else.  This is where I might have brought out Gorgeous Grunge or something like that.  I decided to try the triangle and I like it!  They are stamped in Fresh Fig.

Lovely 3

So here is the inside of the card.  Everything is from Lovely Inside & Out except the little triangles.

Lovely 1

Here are both versions of the card.  Some will be sent to customers for online orders. I made 25 Mother's Day cards.  Now I just need to address and get them in the mail!

Lovely 4

These were fun to make, quick, easy, and cute!  I very seldom make a card without my trusty Big Shot, but this card only took punches!

Thanks for stopping by.  See you later.  Click on a product below to go to my online store.  Thank you!

Create with Connie and Mary 452

It's another Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge #452.  We have a color challenge this week.  We are using So Saffron, Peekaboo Peach, and Sahara Sand.

Displaying CCMC452.png

These colors made for an interesting challenge.  After making my card, I decided to make it a Mother's Day card.  Of course you could put any sentiment you wish.   Here is my card for this week.

CCMC452 So Saffron Peekaboo Peach Sahara Sand

For this card, I pulled out a stamp set I haven't used in a long time, Petite Petals.  It also has a coordinating punch.  So here are the details on how to make this card.

  • The card base is Sahara Sand card stock measuring 4 1/4 x 11, scored at 5 1/2, and folded.  Stamp around the outer edges of the front of the card using Sahara Sand ink and Petite Petals.  I thought this added some interest to the card.
  • The So Saffron layer is 3 1/4 x 4 1/2.
  • The So Saffron diagonal stripe paper, 3 1/8 x 4 3/8, is from the Subtles Designer Series Paper Stack.
  • The basket is cut from Sahara Sand card stock using the Basket Builder Framelit Dies.  The intricate layer is sponged with Sahara Sand and then layered on the solid basket.
  • Stamp 9 flowers in Peekaboo Peach on the same color card stock and punch these out with the Petite Petals punch.  Three of the flowers will go on the inside of the card.  Put yellow centers in the flowers from the Subtles Enamel Shapes. The flowers inside have small So Saffron card stock centers.

Sketch Basket 2

  • The leaves are cut using the Flourish Thinlits.  They are on a stem of five leaves. Cut them apart.  You will need to cut two of these so you'll have leaves for the inside of the card.
  • Cut part of a Lace Doily and sponge it with Sahara Sand ink.
  • Glue down the doily and place the basket at the top of it.  Arrange your flowers and leaves.  The flowers at the back are glued down and the ones on front are adhered with dimensionals.  Leaves are glued.
  • Stamp the sentiment from Oh So Succulent in peach on Whisper White scrap. Punch it out using the Classic Label Punch.  Punch out another shape from the subtles stack.  The flowers are on the back of the diagonal paper.
  • Finish it all off with a bow of Linen Thread.

Sketch Basket 3

Here is the inside of the card.  The sentiment here is from Dragonfly Dreams.  Let's hope our mom's do have a special day.

Sketch Basket 4

These colors do combine to make a lovely card.  My list of products follows.  Please order anything you need.  I would appreciate it!  Thanks for stopping by today.
