Cards- Get Well

Back on Your Feet Week - Day 2

This week I'm featuring the Back on Your Feet stamp set from page 83 of the Stampin' Up! 2019-2020 catalog.  If you would like to see the card from day 1 go here.

My card today is made using the turtle.  He just might be my favorite!

Back on Your Feet Turtle Card by Jo Anne Hewins

For this card begin with a card base of Thick Whisper White cut at 5 1/2 x 8 1/2, score and fold at 4 1/4.

The Granny Apple Green gingham check is from the Brights 6 x 6 Designer Series Paper.  It measures 2 x 5 1/2.

Stamp the word SIGH... randomly near the top and bottom of the card front.

Tie some of the Granny Apple Green Textured Weave Ribbon around the card and tie in a knot.

Stamp the turtle in Memento Black on a piece of Whisper White.  I used the Light and Dark Granny Apple Green, the Light and Dark Soft Suede, and the Light Old Olive Blends to color the turtle.  Cut out with the largest circle of the Stitched Shapes dies.  Add with dimensionals.

Back on Your Feet Turtle Sigh Card by Jo Anne Hewins

Stamp the word SIGH... again on a strip of Granny Apple Green scrap in black.  Notch the end.  I curled it up just a little at the end.

Finish it off with some of the green Gingham Gala Adhesive Backed Sequins.

Here's the inside of the card.  I did stamp and color the turtle on a piece of white scrap and cut him out.  I didn't want the color to bleed to the back of the card.

Back on Your Feet Week - Day 1

This week I have decided to feature the stamp set Back on Your Feet found on page 83 of the new Stampin' Up! 2019-2020 Annual Catalog.

Do you remember how you knew in a conversation that someone was getting old?  Yes, they talk about their aches and pains.  I hate to say it, but I'm around those kind of people about all the time now.  Yes, I'm retired and age just keeps on creeping up on me.  That's why I laughed out loud when I saw this set.  I ordered it as soon as I could.  If you aren't in my shoes, you know someone who is.  That's why I think Back on Your Feet deserves a week.  Here's my card for Day 1.

Back on Your Feet Card by Jo Anne Hewins

I already know who is getting this card.  I don't mean to be calling her old.  We all have our down times at any age!

The card base is 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and folded at 4 1/4.  Stamp the OUCH! and the SIGH... in Crumb Cake down the sides of the card base.

Add a piece of Daffodil Delight Designer Series Paper that measures 3 x 5 1/2 to the center.  This comes from the Brights 6 x 6 Designer Series Paper.

Stamp the giraffe in Memento Black on a piece of Whisper White.  Color with the Light and Dark Crumb Cake and the Light and Dark Daffodil Delight Blends.  Cut this out with the largest oval from the Stitched Shapes Dies.

Run Linen Thread around the card 2 times and tape down behind where the giraffe will be.  Add the giraffe with dimensionals.  Put a Linen Thread bow just over the oval.  Take 2 lenghts of the Linen Thread that are about 8 inches.  Tie knots down the row.  Don't pull them too tightly.  I rolled a glue dot to put behind each knot.

Stamp the saying in Memento and cut the words apart.  Add with dimensionals.

Back on Your Feet Inside by Jo Anne Hewins

Here is the inside of the card.  Just stamp the saying and the giraffe.  Color the giraffe just the same as the front.

This card is so cute and it's pretty easy.  I think my friend will really like it!

I'll have more cards using Back on Your Feet on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.  Don't miss out on Back on Your Feet Week!

Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge #554 Needle & Thread

Welcome to another Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge.  This week we have a sketch.

CCMC554

Don't you just love this sketch.  At first I thought it would be hard, but it was really easy just to plug in some flowers.  I chose to use the stamp set Needle & Thread from page 39 in the Occasions Catalog.  There are also some great samples with this bundle on page 38.  Yes, this set does have the Needlepoint Elements Framelits Dies that coordinate.

CCMC#544 Needle & Thread Lemon Lime Twisy by Jo Anne Hewins

The card base is Lemon Lime Twist measuring 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and folded at 4 1/4.  Do you see the beautiful stitching on the base of the card?  It's made using the framelits!  I put the larger flower and leaves on the top left and the little curlies at the bottom right.

The Needlepoint Nook Designer Series Paper also coordinates in this suite.  I used the largest of the Rectangle Stitched Framelits of the four that nest together.  Add to the bottom center of the base.

The largest flower is stamped in Berry Burst.  These stamps are part of the Stampin' Up! offerings of the Distinkive stamps that show so much detail.  They are marvelous.  The three smaller flowers are in Balmy Blue.  the greenery is actually one large stamp with a space for a flower.  I just cut it in half and used one with the largest flower and another with the lower right flower.

The saying is from the Needle & Thread set stamped in Berry Burst on white scrap.  Cut this out with the Rectangle Stitched Framelits.

So here is the inside of the card.  It's all part of the Needle & Thread set and is stamped directly to the insert.  Easy!

I made this card first in Whisper White.  Here is that card.

CCMC #554 Needle & Thread Card in Whisper White by Jo Anne Hewins

Everything is exactly the same except for the base.  I just can't decide which card I like best.  I, myself, am drawn to the Whisper White, but I know the Lemon Lime Twist is much more colorful.  Which do you like?

I haven't seen a lot of samples with this bundle.  I think it is so pretty.  Take another look at it.

Thanks for joining me today.  I appreciate that you spent a little of your day with me.  I would love to be your demonstrator if you don't already have one.  Let me know how I can help you.

An Easel Card with Dandelion Wishes!

Hello and welcome to Kylie's Demonstrator Training Blog Hop for March 2019.  Thank you so much for joining the hop.  I know you will find lots of great cards and ideas!  My name is Jo Anne Hewins and I'm from the USA.

Today I'm sharing a card using the Dandelion Wishes stamp set.  I just got this set recently and I'm happy to use it!  I have an easel card.

Dandelion Wishes Easel Card by Jo Anne Hewins

Here is a picture of it opened and from the side.

Dandelion Wishes Easel Card Side View by Jo Anne Hewins

These are just so much fun to make.  They really are not that hard!

Start with a card base of Coastal Cabana that measures 4 1/4 x 11.  Score this at 2 3/4 and 5 1/2.  Fold the card in half and then the score half way down is folded down so that you would have a mountain as it sits on the card base bottom.

Next you'll need another piece of Coastal Cabana that measures 4 1/4 x 5 1/2.  That's the standard US card front.  Run this paper through the Big Shot with the Dot to Dots Embossing Folder.  This piece attaches to the front of the card base, however, you will only attach the bottom half of this paper.  Only put adhesive on the bottom of the card base front.  You can see how that would look in the picture above.

Dandelion Wishes Easel Card Close Up by Jo Anne Hewins

Use the Rectangle Stitched Framelits for the front of the card.  Use the 4th rectangle in for the one in Coastal Cabana.  The 5th rectangle in is for the Whisper White layer.

Stamp the large dandelion on the white layer using the Stamparatus to make sure that you get a good dark image.  Use Smoky Slate ink.  A sponge dauber is used to sponge Coastal Cabana ink over parts of the dandelion.

Attach the two rectangles and then tie Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon around the lower part.  Make your first tie and then put a glue dot under the knot.  That will hold the knot in place and help tying the rest of the bow.  Add this panel with dimensionals.

If you feel that the top part of the card needs a little more support add a rectangle of Whisper White or Coastal Cabana to the back.  It would measure 4 x 3.

Dandelion wishes Easel Card inside by Jo Anne Hewins

For the inside of the card, stamp the dandelion seeds across the bottom in Smoky Slate.  The words are from the same set.  Stamp on a white scrap and punch with the 1 3/4" Circle Punch.  Add this with dimensionals.  When you open the card rest the front behind this circle to hold the card open.

You might have to include directions to the recipient of this card on how to display it.

Here's a video to show how to make this card.

Thank you so much for taking Kylie's Demonstrator Training Blog Hop today.  You'll see some wonderful stamping inspiration!

Stampin' Dreams Blog Hop for December Sneak Peek!

Welcome to the Stampin' Dreams Blog Hop for December.  You are currently visiting Jo Anne Hewins from the USA.  I hope you enjoy my project today!

Image may contain: text

It's almost time for the new Occasions Catalog to begin.  Right along side it will be the Sale-a-Bration Brochure!  These are both live on January 3rd.  Today you get a Sneak Peek at some of the products coming!  New catalog time is so exciting!  Here is my card for today!

Needle & Thread card by Jo Anne Hewins

The Needlepoint Nook Suite can be found on pages 38 and 39 in the Occasions catalog.  You will love it!  I'm using the Needle & Thread stamp set and the Needlepoint Elements Framelits Dies.

Let's talk first about the dotted images that you see on my Thick Whisper White card stock base.  Oh My Goodness!  This image is part of the framelits dies.  I ran it through the Big Shot twice, once at the top and a little to the right and once at the bottom and a little to the left.  I am so in love with this!  I love it on white!

The saying is on another feature of the framelits from this set.  Isn't it cute!  The saying is from the Needle & Thread set.  I stamped it in Fresh Fig.  I added it to the card with snail down the center.  You can see that I have some items poke out from under the saying and some on the top.  Think about that when adhereing.

Needle & Thread card close up by Jo Anne Hewins

The leaf features are from Old Olive card stock.  I tried to leave the cut outs in some of the leaves.  These all stick out from under the saying or flowers.  There is one stamp with leaves.  Stamp in Old Olive on Whisper White.  There is room there to stick in the largest flower.  Instead I just cut that apart and added some from the top and some from the bottom.

The flowers are stamped in Fresh Fig, Pool Party, and Blushing Bride on Whisper White.  The three small flowers can be cut out all at one time using the Needlepoint Elements Framelits Dies.  I love that feature!  The detail on these flower stamps is fantastic!

To finish off the card add some of the Old Olive Linen Thread.  Yes, you are going to want this!

Needle & Thread inside by Jo Anne Hewins

The saying on the inside is part of the Needle & Thread stamp set.  I had flowers left over, so I added them.  Why not!  I always finish off the inside of the card.

Needle & Thread by Jo Anne Hewins

There is just a loveliness to this card I just can't quite discribe.  If I didn't feel well, it would make me smile!
