Cards- Get Well

Hand-Penned Designer Series Paper and a 6 x 6 One Sheet Wonder

For my Facebook Live this week I used the Hand-Penned Designer Series Paper cut to 6 x 6.  I showed how to cut this down to make 4 different cards.  I love these cards!  It's a perfect time because selected packs of Designer Series Paper are 15% off through August 2nd.  The Hand-Penned paper is one of them.  I'll have more on this at the end of the post.  Here are the cards we made.

So I did start with a piece of 6 x 6.  Here are all of the pieces.

Facebook Live 7.14.2021 6 x 6 one sheet wonder by Jo Anne Hewins

I'm going to put the video here and below are all of the measurements and more pictures.

Cut the 6 x 6 into 4 pieces that are 3 x 3.

One of the 3 x 3 is used as is.

Cut the second 3 x 3 in half to make 2 pieces of 1 1/2 x 3.  Pay attention to direction if that matters.

Cut the third 3 x 3 into three pieces that are 1 x 3.  Pat attention to direction if that matters.

Cut the fourth 3 x 3 piece into 4 pieces that are 1 1/2 x 1 1/2.

Since my pieces did have a direction, I tried to place them so that the pattern of the paper continued.

To frame these in black I cut these measurements.

First square is a piece of 3 1/8 x 3 1/8.

The second has 2 pieces of 1 5/8 x 3 1/8.

The third has 3 pieces of 1 1/8 x 3 1/8.

The fourth piece has 4 pieces of 1 5/8 x 1 5/8.

Additional supplies used are the Tailor Made Tags dies, Pretty Flowers Embossing Folder, Highland Heather card stock at 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and folded for the base and another piece at 4 1/8 x 5 3/8, embossed, Basic Black card stock, Basic White card stock, Baker's Twine Essentials Pack, Hand-Penned Petals stamp set, Highland Heather and Mint Macaron ink pads, dimensionals, glue.

Back on Your Feet - Day 4

It's been a great week with samples using the Back on Your Feet stamp set.

I'll go over all the samples again at the end of this post.  Here is my card for today using the sloth.  He is really cute!

Back on Your Feet Sloth by Jo Anne Hewins

The card base for this one is Soft Suede measuring 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and folded at 4 1/4.  Temporarily attach a piece of Old Olive cardstock that is 4 x 5 1/4.  Using the largest oval from the Stitched Shapes centered on the top half of the card, cut a hole through both pieces of paper.  Be sure you have centered the Old Olive piece first.  Now take off the Old Olive piece and run it through your die cutting machine with the Layered Leaves embossing folder.

Stamp the sloth on a piece of Whisper White in Memento Black ink.  Color with the Light and Dark Soft Suede, Light and Dark Old Olive, Light and Dark Highland Heather, and the Ivory Blends.  Cut using the same oval from Stitched Shapes.

Stamp the saying from Back on Your Feet in Highland Heather on a 1" wide scrap of white.  Notch the end.  Add the sentiment to the card with snail on the left and dimensionals toward the right.

Back on Your Feet Sloth Close Up by Jo Anne Hewins

Run Linen Thread around the hole in the Old Olive layer and the bottom of the card and tie in the center of the saying.  Add a Linen Thread bow with a glue dot.

Attach a Whisper White layer 4 x 5 1/4 to the inside of the card.  With the card closed, add the sloth to the inside of the card right through the hole.

Add the saying and the word SIGH... to the inside of the card.

Finish up by adding some of the Gingham Gala Adhesive Backed Sequins.

It's been a blast using the Back on Your Feet stamp set this week.  People are always getting hurt.  I hate that, but it's true.  This is a great set to have on hand.

Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge #566 Back on Your Feet - Day 3

Welcome to another Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge.  This week we have a sketch.  I'm using the Back on Your Feet stamp set.  In fact, I'm having a week of samples using this set.  It's been so much fun!  Here is this week's sketch.

CCMC566

Here is my card using the sketch.

CCMC #566 Back on Your Feet by Jo Anne Hewins

The card base is Old Olive cut at 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and folded at 4 1/4.  The next layer is from the Dinoroar Designer Series Paper.  It measures 3 x 5 1/2.  The Old Olive layer that comes next is cut using the 5th rectangle in from the Rectangle Stitched Dies.  Stamp the little circles over it in Pretty Peacock.  This stamp comes from the Dino Days stamp set.

I used two pieces of the Lovely Lipstick Grosgrain Ribbon on the lower half of the rectangle layer.  Add with glue dots or snail.

Stamp the turtle in Memento Black on a scrap of Whisper White. Use the Light and Dark Old Olive, the Light and Dark Pretty Peacock, and the Light and Dark Soft Suede Blends to color the turtle.  Fussy Cut.  Add him with dimensionals.

CCMC #566 Back on Your Feet Close Up by Jo Anne Hewins

Stamp the saying from Back on Your Feet in Lovely Lipstick and fussy cut around them.  I cut the saying apart.  Add under the Old Olive rectangle.

CCMC #566 Back on Your Feet Inside by Jo Anne Hewins

And here is the inside of the card.  I just put a turtle in the corner with the word SIGH...
