Cards- Get Well

Design a Daydream Designer Series Paper Host Fun Fold Card

The Design a Daydream Designer Series Paper is way in the back of the annual catalog.  It's one of the items available if you have Host dollars to spend.  You earn Host benefits by spending at least $150.  This paper is a great value.  There are 48 sheets of 12 x 12 double sided paper.  That's 4 each of 12 designs.  WOW!  With all that paper you need a card that uses it well.  Here is my card for today.

Start with a base of Blackberry Bliss cut to 4 1/4 x 5 1/2.

Cut your designer paper to 5 1/4 x 5 3/4, score at 1 3/4.  Fold the short fold toward the inside of the card front.  That's all there is to the fold!  So easy.

You will need another piece of Blackberry Bliss measuring 4 by 5 1/2.  Score this at 2 3/4 and fold.  This piece will be added to the center of the card base with the fold to the right.  That's the opposite of our usual fold.  Make sure the designer paper fold is open for this.

For the outside of the Blackberry insert cut a rectangle using the Scalloped Rectangles dies.  Use the third smallest.  Use Old Olive.  Add another piece of patterned paper that measures 1 7/8 x 3 1/4.

The saying is from the Cottage Rose stamp set.  Stamp it in Versamark on a Blackberry Bliss scrap and then emboss using the white embossing powder from the Basics Embossing Powder collection.  Cut this out using the Stylish Shapes dies.  Add a little Stampin' Seal under where your label will be.  Add some of the Linen Thread there using the Seal to stick it down.  Add dimensionals to the ends so that they will not be on top of the thread and add the label.  Mine sticks out over the front, but you can place it anywhere you like.

Embellish with the Iridescent Rhinestone Basic Jewels.

For the inside add another rectangle cut in Basic White.

Punches and Dies in Red, White, Blue, and Green

Good morning.  My first thought was that I wanted to make a card to celebrate July the 4th, but I would just use red, white, and blue.  Of course my mind went to flowers.  You must have green with flowers, right.  So I love my card, but it doesn't cry out July the 4th.  It's the thought that counts, I hope. Here is my card.

Vintage Bottle Punch Bough Punch Hippo dies Stylish Shapes dies In Color 6 x 6 DSP Cottage Rose Heart Pearls White Seam Binding Jo Anne Hewins Luv 2 Create

Start with a base of Starry Sky that is 4 1/4 x 11.  Score and fold at 5 1/2.  Run another piece of Starry Sky through the Cut & Emboss Machine with the Hive 3D Embossing Buddy.  This paper measures 4 x 5 1/4.  Glue down to the base.

Most of my images are punched or cut from the 2022-2024 In Color 6 x 6 Designer Series Paper Stack.

The bottle is punched from Orchid Oasis  using the Vintage Bottle Punch.  Add with dimensionals.

The leaves are punched from Parakeet Party using the Bough Punch.  Parts of them are added with mini dimensionals and parts are glued down.

The flower blossoms are cut using the Cut & Emboss Machine using the Hippo dies.  These dies are part of the free Sale-a-Bration items that can be earned with purchase.  The flowers were added with glue.  You could use glue dots.

Embellish with the Heart Pearls.

The sentiment is stamped using the Cottage Rose stamp set.  Stamp on a white scrap in Starry Sky ink.  Cut using the Stylish Shapes dies.  Run some of the White Seam Binding around the card and adhere to the bottle so that the tag will cover the ends.  Add the tag with a mini dimensional on those end corners.  Tie a bow with the seam binding and put in place with a rolled up glue dot.

For the inside, the words are again from Cottage Rose.  I used some left overs to add just a little stem and flower.  I think that looks cute.

I hope you have a wonderful 4th of July week.  Maybe you'll have some time to stamp!  Our granddaughters are coming to spend 4 days with us this week!  Can't wait!

Hand-Penned Designer Series Paper and a 6 x 6 One Sheet Wonder

For my Facebook Live this week I used the Hand-Penned Designer Series Paper cut to 6 x 6.  I showed how to cut this down to make 4 different cards.  I love these cards!  It's a perfect time because selected packs of Designer Series Paper are 15% off through August 2nd.  The Hand-Penned paper is one of them.  I'll have more on this at the end of the post.  Here are the cards we made.

Facebook Live 7.14. 2021 6 x 6 one sheet wonder 4 cards by Jo Anne Hewins

So I did start with a piece of 6 x 6.  Here are all of the pieces.

Facebook Live 7.14.2021 6 x 6 one sheet wonder by Jo Anne Hewins

I'm going to put the video here and below are all of the measurements and more pictures.

Cut the 6 x 6 into 4 pieces that are 3 x 3.

One of the 3 x 3 is used as is.

Cut the second 3 x 3 in half to make 2 pieces of 1 1/2 x 3.  Pay attention to direction if that matters.

Cut the third 3 x 3 into three pieces that are 1 x 3.  Pat attention to direction if that matters.

Cut the fourth 3 x 3 piece into 4 pieces that are 1 1/2 x 1 1/2.

Since my pieces did have a direction, I tried to place them so that the pattern of the paper continued.

To frame these in black I cut these measurements.

First square is a piece of 3 1/8 x 3 1/8.

The second has 2 pieces of 1 5/8 x 3 1/8.

The third has 3 pieces of 1 1/8 x 3 1/8.

The fourth piece has 4 pieces of 1 5/8 x 1 5/8.

Additional supplies used are the Tailor Made Tags dies, Pretty Flowers Embossing Folder, Highland Heather card stock at 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and folded for the base and another piece at 4 1/8 x 5 3/8, embossed, Basic Black card stock, Basic White card stock, Baker's Twine Essentials Pack, Hand-Penned Petals stamp set, Highland Heather and Mint Macaron ink pads, dimensionals, glue.
