It's Hazel's Second Birthday! And Taco Fiesta!
March 15, 2023
Can you believe that Hazel is two??? Where did the time go! I'm using a video that I found that makes the cutest taco. I wish I could take credit, but no. This taco was designed by Di Barnes. You can find her video here. I'm making a Book Binding Fold today. I just love those. I've made several lately.
The taco on this card is 3D. It is attached with a wobble spring. You can find these here. The taco is so cute wiggling on the card! Here are the things I used, but it's all on the video mentioned already!
Needed to make the taco for this card are:
Decorative Circle Punch using Pale Papaya cardstock for shell
Hedgehog Builder Punch using Granny Apple Green and Parakeet Party for lettuce
Whale Punch using the drops in Basic White for the sour cream
Tailor Made Tags dies using Basic Black tag holes for the olives
All That dies using Polished Pink for tomato pieces (Yes that kind of a funny color, but it's got to match!
For the book fold:
Pale Papaya cardstock 4 1/4 x 11. Score at 5 1/2 and 6 3/4. Fold in half. Fold back the next fold. Glue down the area it makes.
For the spine area, you'll need Polished Pink 1 1/8 x 4 1/8 and paper 1 x 4 from the Delicate Desert Designer Series Paper. Stamp designer paper first with the candy stamp from the Taco Fiesta stamp set. Add the layers.
For the large area, the paper is cut to 4 1/8 x 4 1/8 in Polished Pink cardstock. Stamp the 4 x 4 layer of designer paper in the same way as the thin piece. Add these layers to the card front.
Cut a piece of the Enjoy the Journey Designer Series Paper with the largest square from Stylish Shapes dies. Add with dimensionals. Here's where you'll actually add the taco with the wobble. Just pull the backing and stick on!
The saying is from the A Grand Kid stamp set. Stamp in Polished Pink on Basic White and fussy cut it out. Glue.
For the inside cut a 4 x 4 piece of Basic White. Stamp the horse from Taco Fiesta in memento black on a piece of white scrap. Color with the Polished Pink Combo Blends and the Pale Papaya Combo Blends. Draw a straight line down part of the white layer with a Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker. Fussy cut and add the horse with dimensionals.
The saying is from A Grand Kid.
Don't forget to decorate the envelope.
While at Walgreens I found a Taco Pez Dispenser. I had to have it! To make a bag I needed a whole 12 x 12 paper. I used a matching paper from the Enjoy the Journey Designer Series Paper. Score at 6 and fold in half. Add a piece of Tear & Tape down the side. Fold over and stick down the side. Add a piece of the Tear & Tape at the bottom.
Stamp, color, and cut out another horse. Add a short length of black twine from the Baker's Twine Essentials Pack by adding a piece of tape just on the inside of the bag. Add a small piece of tape at the bottom. Add the horse with dimensionals hiding the end of the twine.
Add some M&M's with glue dots to look like candy coming from the horse pinata.
Tie some of the Polished Pink Open Weave Ribbon for handles. I punched small holes. I was afraid that the ribbon might pull through with a lot of handling. I did put some tape over the ends on the inside of the bag.
Slip in the extra candy so there will be some to eat.
So you have a have a picture of our beautiful birthday girl. What a joy she is to us!
Thanks for joining me today. Hope you enjoyed the card, envelope, and bag. Hazel did!
