Sale-a-Bration is winding down.  There are only a few days left.  Take the hop for ideas on using your free items.  Or, maybe you'll be tempted to make one more order and pick up some more of these free items while you can.  Don't forget that new items have been added!

DEMO_MKTL_FLY_TH_US_0124_SAB_2ND_RELEASE

The easiest way to find these freebies is to go to my Online Store here.  It may be that some items will run out since the promotion is almost over.

I'll be using one of the items that was added at the beginning of February.  The Just Kiddin' Designer Series Paper is in the annual catalog as well.  It's a cute paper filled with images of children reading, drawing, and all sorts of things.  The backside of the paper is great as well.  I'll show some of them.  I was excited to get this paper, but then I couldn't think of anything to do with it.

I have four cards to share with you.  It turns out the possibilities are endless!

Just Kiddin' DSP Doggone Friendly Crafting with You Tinsel Gems Four Pack Something Fancy Artistically Inked Paper Florist dies Everyday Details dies Sweet Songbirds Jo Anne Hewins Luv 2 Create

I'll share them one at a time.

Just Kiddin' DSP Crafting with You Tinsel Gems Four Pack Jo Anne Hewins Luv 2 Create

The base of this card is Thick Basic White 5 1/2 x  8 1/2, scored and folded at 4 1/4.

Add the stars designer paper cut to 4 x 5 1/4.  The next layer is Basic White with the measurements 3 1/8 x 4 3/8.  The the Berry Burst designer paper 3 x 4 1/4.

Simply pick a few of the children do their crafts and add with dimensionals.

The saying is from Crafting with You.  I stamped in Berry Burst and then cut the saying apart.  Life and Crafting are on dimensionals.

Just Kiddin' DSP Doggone Friendly Crafting with You Tinsel Gems Four Pack Something Fancy Jo Anne Hewins Luv 2 Create

One of the Just Kiddin' sheets show children with animals.  I decided to use the Doggone Friendly stamp set for a child just getting a new puppy.  The measurements for this card are the same as the one above.  The base is Lemon Lime Twist.

Stamp the background stamp in Memento Black on a piece of 4 x 5 1/4 Basic White.  Then cut it down to 3 x 4 1/4.  I did it this way to use the side that I trimmed off on the inside of the card.

Use the Tinsel Gems Four Pack to decorate.

Just Kiddin' DSP Doggone Friendly Something Fancy Tinsel Gems Four Pack Jo Anne Hewins Luv 2 Create

I gave of the the dogs a colored kerchief.  Ink up the area.  Carefully lay a scrap of the designer paper down on it to stamp.  Trim around the image and glue to the original image.  This is called paper piecing.

Choose the child you wish and cut them out.  I ended up glueing the child to the green designer paper and then trimming around again to help the child stand out.

The saying is from the Something Fancy stamp set.  Trim and then add to some Lemon Lime Twist cardstock and trim around again for a frame.

Use the Tinsel Gems Four Pack to embellish.

Just Kiddin' DSP Artistically Inked Stylish Shapes dies Jo Anne Hewins Luv 2 Create

This card is so easy.  One of the sheets in Just Kiddin' has scenes just ready to add to your card front.  This one is a library, a school, or maybe a bedroom.  I cut out children reading and added them with dimensionals.  I used the Artistically Inked stamp set for the hello.  Stamp in Melon Mambo and cut out with the Stylish Shapes dies.  Bingo! You're done.

Just Kiddin' DSP. Everyday Details dies Paper Florist dies Sweet Songbirds ARtistically Inked Stylish Shapes dies Jo Anne Hewins Luv 2 Create

For the last card, I used the image of a little boy with a flower.  I thought he just might be taking it to his mother for Mother's Day or a birthday.

The base is Thick Basic White.

Cut the background paper to 4 1/4 x 5 1/2.   Center the largest rectangle die from Everyday Details and cut.  This cuts out a rectangle area but leaves the holes around the cut out space.  Now glue this to the card front.

Cut the same die again using Basic White.  You can cut the white down to fit the inside rectangle for this.  After cutting, we'll build the flower.  I used the Paper Florist dies.  The stem is just a 1/4 in strip of the designer paper.  The leaf is cut with that as well.  Cut the flower from Balmy Blue.  Curl the petals with a Bone Folder and adhere the pieces.  Add a Daffodil Delight center.

Just Kiddin' DSP Paper Florist dies Sweet Songbirds Everyday Details dies Jo Anne Hewins Luv 2 Create

The saying is from the Sweet Songbirds stamp set.  I think he is so cute!

So, I hope these cards will give you a springboard for new ideas for the Just Kiddin' Designer Series Paper.  I think pairing it with stamps you might already have is a great way to start.  Which is your favorite.

Bird's Eye View Birthday Book Fair Card for Sagan

So my sweet little Sagan had a birthday recently.  She is now 6.  Did you know that it takes more than 1 hand to show that you are 6?  Of course I'm biased, but that girl is really something special.  As I write this, today is the actual day.  She should get one of my cards in the mail.  I hope it got there in time.  Sagan loves pink, so I tried to make it all pink.  There's a suprise inside.

Bird's Eye View Birthday Card 2024-2026 In Color 6 x 6 DSP Blends Everyday Details dies Jo Anne Hewins Luv 2 Create.png

This is a book fold.  Start with Thick Basic White 4 1/4 x 11, score at 5 1/2 and 6 3/4.   Fold and score at the center score and then fold back at the other score.  Use a Bone Folder to burnish the fold.

Use the 2024-2026 In Color 6 x 6 Designer Series Paper.  Cut a piece of the dotted Pretty in Pink to 4 1/8 x 4 1/8 for the front.  Cut another at 1 1/8 x 4 1/8 for the spine.  Glue.  Tie a piece of ribbon around the spine and tie into a bow.  I've given this hint before, but it's a good one.  Place a glue dot under the first tie of the ribbon.  The glue dot holds the ribbon in place so that it is easier to tie the bow.

Glue down the small area making the book fold.

Bird's Eye View Birthday Card 2024-2026 In Color 6 x 6 DSP Blends Everyday Details dies Close Up Jo Anne Hewins Luv 2 Create.png

I used this fold because I'm using the Bird's Eye View stamp set with its cute birds and the stack of books.  I love those glasses that can be used for the birds.  Stamp the bird, with glasses, and the stack of books in Memento Black on Basic White.  Color with blends.  I used Berry Burst, Pretty in Pink, Petal Pink, and Flirty Flamingo Combo Packs for each set.  Fussy cut each image.  As an afterthought, I stamped the balloon as well, colored, and cut it out.

Time out for a second.  It's a birthday, so I tied a length of ribbon around the books.  This is the Iridescent White, but it is retired I'm sad to say.  There's a little sparkle to this ribbon and 6 year old girls need that!

Cut a circle using the Everyday Details dies from Basic White.  Glue the circle to the center of the front.  Add the images with dimensionals.  Don't forget to add the balloon.

The Happy Birthday comes from the new Attention Shoppers stamp set.  Stamp in Berry Burst.  Trim and add with dimensionals.

Bird's Eye View Birthday Card 2024-2026 In Color 6 x 6 DSP Blends Everyday Details dies Inside with pocket Jo Anne Hewins Luv 2 Create.png

SURPRISE!!!  The Book Fair is coming to Sagan's school soon.  That's why the books on the front!  Stamp a different bird, the book stack and balloon in Memento.  Color with the same blends as on the front.  Tie another bow around the stack of books.  Use part of the left over sheet of designer paper.  Cut it to 1 3/4 x 4 1/4.  To be honest, I've already sent the card and I didn't write down measurements.  I might have cut that down a little.  Add Tear and Tape around 3 sides of the DSP and adhere to the bottom of the inside leaving a little border around it.  Make sure the side with no tape is at the top.  Glue on the images.  Wait on the balloon.

Bird's Eye View Birthday Card 2024-2026 In Color 6 x 6 DSP Blends Everyday Details dies Inside with money in pocket Jo Anne Hewins Luv 2 Create.png

Use one of the Petunia Pop pieces of Designer Series Paper for the letters and the Mini Alphabet dies.  Add some of the Adhesive Sheet to the back of the DSP the size of the alphabet die and cut.  You'll need an extra O, but all of the other letters are there.  Pull off the backing and add the letters.  Unfortunately the money slipped in the pocket does cover up some of the letters.  Wink of Stella is on the balloons.

A first Book Fair is a marvelous thing.  As a former first grade teacher for 32 years, I know the special excitement of buying that perfect book.  I'm sure Sagan will be so excited to share her finds with Hazel and her mom and dad.

One more card to share.

Panda Party retired Sagan's birthday Bright and Beautiful DSP Berry Burst Card Closed Jo Anne Hewins Luv 2 Create

This is a double Z fold card using the Beautiful & Bright Designer Series Paper.  Remember, I'm using pink stuff for Sagan.  I'm also using the Party Pandas stamp set that in long retired and an old Sale-a-Bration offering.  Sagan is having a panda party.  Thank goodness that this set that has been in my retired sale stuff forever never sold.  Since the stamp set is retired and I've already shared a super great fook fair card, I'm not going to write up all the directions of this one.  Look up double Z fold and you'll find the measurements.  I did use the Stamparatus (also retired) to stamp the pandas on Basic White.  I did cut them out and glue them in place.  I didn't want the pandas to be pink.

Panda Party retired Sagan's birthday Bright and Beautiful DSP Berry Burst Jo Anne Hewins Luv 2 Create

Notice too that I have six balloons in the card for the 6 year old.  I'll try to get a picture when I give her another present tomorrow.  Sagan and Hazel are coming to spend the night!!!

Thanks so much.  IF you actually read all of this, please let me know!  I would really appreciate that.

Ice Cream Swirl Valentine Cards for Sagan and Hazel

Valentine's Day kind of crept up on me.  I needed to make a couple cute cards for the granddaughters and I needed something I could make rather quickly.  I've been meaning to use the Ice Cream Swirl bundle.  It was right there on my table.  Here's what I came up with.

Ice Cream Swirls bundle Card Duo Most Adored DSP Perennial Lavender DSP Jo Anne Hewins Luv 2 Create

Pretty cute!  Pink is for Sagan and the purple is for Hazel.

Ice Cream Swirls bundle Most Adored DSP Jo Anne Hewins Luv 2 Create

The base for this card is Thick Basic White 5 1/2 x 8 1/2.  Score and fold at 4 1/4.  Cut 1 1/4 inches from the front of the card.

The Most Adored Designer SeriesPaper is perfect for the card.  This paper is part of the choices for Sale-a-Bration.  For the front the paper is cut at 2 3/4 x 5 1/4.  For the right side of the inside of the card the paper measures 1 1/2 x 5 1/4.

For the ice cream cone, use the dies from the Ice Cream Swirl bundle.  The die will cut for two of the cones, so I was able to use that for both of the cards.  Cut from Crumb Cake card stock.

Stamp the cone using Pecan Pie ink.  Use a Blending Brush to add a little color across the top, bottom and a little down the side.

The ice cream was stamped on yet another paper from Most Adored in Flirty Flamingo.  Color every other space with a Light Flirty Flamingo Blend.  I have to give credit to the ice cream here to Patty Bennett, my upline.  Cut out the ice cream with the dies.

Glue the ice cream to the cone.  The white twine comes from the Baker's Twine Essentials Pack.  Tie the twine into a bow on the front.

Color some of the gems from the Opaque Faceted Gems with a Dark Flirty Flamingo Blend.  These are available for Sale-a-Bration choices as well.

The saying is from the Bee Mine Valentine stamp set.  Cut this out with the Stylish Shapes dies.  The heart is punched with the Bee Builder Punch.

Ice Cream Swirls bundle Perennial Lavender DSP Bee My Valentine Jo Anne Hewins Luv 2 Create

This card is pretty much the same.  The front paper is from the Most Adored DSP.  The ice cream and the side panel purple pieces are from the Perennial Lavender Designer Series Paper.

The ice cream is cut out in Highland Heather.  The more detailed die is cut from the Perennial Lavender.  Glue that to the ice cream base.

Embellishments are Glossy Dots.

Ice Cream Swirls bundle Most Adored DSP Inside of Card Bee My Valentine Jo Anne Hewins Luv 2 Create

Here is the inside of the card.

As I write this, the girls have not yet received their cards.  I think they will like them.

Submarine Life Inverted Book Fold Card

I'm so glad you have joined me today.  We'll be using the Submarine Life stamp set and Submarine Life Builder Punch to make our Inverted Book Fold Card.  I have no idea what the name of this card is so I made one up for it.  Let me know if there is a name.

Submarine Life Inverted Book Fold Fun fold Blending Brush Submarine Life Bundle Card Front with Hand Jo Anne Hewins Luv 2 Create

The Submarine Life bundle is on page 52 of the January-April Mini.  I love that it has a punch.  It punches the submarine, the propeller, and the periscope.  My son-in-law loves the Beatles and therefore, so do my granddaughters.  I had to make a yellow submarine card.

This is one of those sets with lots of stamps.  It even has sea life wearing a diving mask and a snorkel.  This gives you an opportunity to use lots of colors.

Submarine Life Inverted Book Fold Fun fold Blending Brush Submarine Life Bundle Card Open Jo Anne Hewins Luv 2 Create

This is the inside of the fun fold.  It does allow the card to stand for display.

The base for this card is Pool Party measuring 4 1/4 x 11.  Score at 4, 5 1/2, and 7.  The middle fold is a mountain fold and the other two folds will be valley folds.

Measurements:

3 Daffodil Delight panels 3 3/4 x 4.

2 Daffodil Delight panels 1 1/2 x 4

3 Basic White panels 3 1/2 x 3 3/4

2 Basic White panels 1 1/4 x 3 3/4

Basic White for the submarine, propeller, periscope, and saying.

Use a Blending Brush and Pool Party ink to add color to all of the white panels.  This does not need to be perfect.  The ocean has fluctuations in its color.

Next comes all the stamping.

For the submarine, make sure your ink pad has a good amount of ink.  It did stamp well.  Before stamping the sub, propeller, and periscope check the punch to check which way you might want to stamp.

Submarine Life Inverted Book Fold Fun fold Blending Brush Submarine Life Bundle Card Standing Inside Showing Jo Anne Hewins Luv 2 Create

Here is the inside.

Submarine Life Inverted Book Fold Fun fold Blending Brush Submarine Life Bundle Card Front Jo Anne Hewins Luv 2 Create

And the outside.  I do have a video showing all of the stamping and how to put everything together.

The saying on the outside is actually one long stamp.  I just cut the words apart and added them to the card with glue dots.  The glue dots do give just a little extra height to the words.

Submarine Life Card Stylish Shapes dies Jo Anne Hewins Luv 2 Create Sunny Day DSP

Here is another version of this card using a piece of the Sunny Day Designer Series Paper.  That's a paper from Sale-a-Bration.   You'll need to add a little something to the Submarine Life bundle and you'll qualify to earn the paper for free!  I cut the plants from Garden Green using the Notes of Nature and the Wild Fern die sets.  I also fussy cut the fish and other sea animals.

Here is the inside of this card.  Use the Stylish Shapes dies to cut out your stamped images and add these to the inside part of the card.

I hope you'll take a look at the video and that you'll try the Submarine Life bundle.

Zany Zoo Wobble Card for Sagan

Hi!  It's hard to believe that my granddaughter was 5 on April 25th.  She'll be going to kindergarten this fall!  Time sure does fly.  We've had a couple celebrations and I'm going to share a card I have mailed to her using the new Zany Zoo Bundle and the Zoo Crew Designer Series Paper.  It goes live on May 2nd when the 2023-2024 Annual Catalog goes live.

Zany Zoo Bundle Zoo Crew DSP Countryside EF Zany Zoo dies Basics Embossing Powders Sagan birthday Jo Anne Hewins Luv 2 Create

Isn't that just too cute!  This card has several new items for you to see.

Zoo Crew Suite Collection

Here is a picture of the Zoo Crew Suite Collection.  The designer papers have lots of animals doing the cutest things:  ballet, birthday, music, home activities, outdoor activities, and stuff on wheels.  The backside of the paper is in black and white.  I used one of the cards on this page as an inspiration for my card today.

The base of the card is Thick Basic White measuring 4 1/4 x 11, scored and folded at 5 1/2.

Use a piece of Basic White cut to 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 and run it through the Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine with a new folder called Countryside Blossoms.  This folder is part of the Countryside Inn Suite Collection. Glue this layer to the front of the card.

For the backstage of the card, cut the black and white paper to 2 x 2 3/4.  Glue this piece to the center of the card.  Mine might be a little more toward the top of the card to leave room for the words.  Cut the curtains and scalloped piece from Pool Party cardstock.  You can even cut curtain tiebacks with the Zany Zoo dies.  Add the scalloped top.  Trim as needed.  The curtains do extend beyond the black and white paper, but why waste it?  Add the tiebacks.

The tiger ballerina is cut using the dies.  The pages of the designer paper feature lots of animals.  The animals that are also in the stamp set will also cut the matching ones in the designer paper.  The one on my card is cut from the designer paper.

Zany Zoo Bundle Zoo Crew DSP Countryside Blossoms EF Zany Zoo dies Basics Embossing Powders Wobble Jo Anne Hewins Luv 2 Create

I ordered the action wobbles from Amazon.  Here is the link I used:  https://www.amazon.com/Hampton-Art-Mini-Action-Wobbles/dp/B01GUG2CW6/ref=sr_1_2?crid=23B5825CZN115&keywords=wobbles+for+card+making&qid=1682449989&sprefix=wobbles+for+cards%2Caps%2C587&sr=8-2

Peel off the backing from one side of the wobble and add it to the cut out.  Then peel the backing from the other side and put the cut out where you want it to appear on the card.  It's so easy!

Zany Zoo Bundle Card Pictured to the Side to Show Wobble Zoo Crew DSP Countryside Blossoms EF Zany Zoo dies Basics Embossing Powders Wobble Jo Anne Hewins Luv 2 Create

This pictures shows how the tiger is raised above the card.  You can flick it to make movement.

Use the Sweetest Cherries stamp set for the saying.  I took several of the sayings and put them together to say what I wanted.  Since I cut the words apart that was simple to do.  Use an embossing buddy over the paper before stamping.  Stamp the sayings on Basic Black in Versamark.  Use the Basic Embossing Powders to emboss in white.  Use the Heat Tool to melt the powders.  Cut out the words that you want and add with glue dots.

Fussy cut the lamb from the designer paper and add to the card inside.  See how I used the notes from the set to make the saying a song!

So there you have it.  I can't finish this post without a picture or two of Sagan.

It's Hazel's Second Birthday! And Taco Fiesta!

Can you believe that Hazel is two???  Where did the time go!  I'm using a video that I found that makes the cutest taco.  I wish I could take credit, but no.  This taco was designed by Di Barnes.  You can find her video here.  I'm making a Book Binding Fold today.  I just love those.  I've made several lately.

Taco 3D Enjoy the Journey DSP Delicate Desert DSP Stylish Shapes dies Book Binding Fold Birthday Card Taco Fiesta A Grand Child Jo Anne Hewins Luv 2 Create

The taco on this card is 3D.  It is attached with a wobble spring.  You can find these here.  The taco is so cute wiggling on the card!  Here are the things I used, but it's all on the video mentioned already!

Needed to make the taco for this card are:

Decorative Circle Punch using Pale Papaya cardstock for shell

Hedgehog Builder Punch using Granny Apple Green and Parakeet Party for lettuce

Whale Punch using the drops in Basic White for the sour cream

Tailor Made Tags dies using Basic Black  tag holes for the olives

All That dies using Polished Pink for tomato pieces (Yes that kind of a funny color, but it's got to match!

For the book fold:

Pale Papaya cardstock 4 1/4 x 11.  Score at 5 1/2 and 6 3/4.  Fold in half.  Fold back the next fold.  Glue down the area it makes.

For the spine area, you'll need Polished Pink 1 1/8 x 4 1/8 and paper 1 x 4 from the Delicate Desert Designer Series Paper.  Stamp designer paper first with the candy stamp from the Taco Fiesta stamp set.  Add the layers.

For the large area, the paper is cut to 4 1/8 x 4 1/8 in Polished Pink cardstock.  Stamp the 4 x 4 layer of designer paper in the same way as the thin piece.  Add these layers to the card front.

Cut a piece of the Enjoy the Journey Designer Series Paper with the largest square from Stylish Shapes dies.  Add with dimensionals.  Here's where you'll actually add the taco with the wobble.  Just pull the backing and stick on!

The saying is from the A Grand Kid stamp set.  Stamp in Polished Pink on Basic White and fussy cut it out.  Glue.

For the inside cut a 4 x 4 piece of Basic White.  Stamp the horse from Taco Fiesta in memento black on a piece of white scrap.  Color with the Polished Pink Combo Blends and the Pale Papaya Combo Blends.  Draw a straight line down part of the white layer with a Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker. Fussy cut and add the horse with dimensionals.

The saying is from A Grand Kid.

Don't forget to decorate the envelope.

While at Walgreens I found a Taco Pez Dispenser.  I had to have it!  To make a bag I needed a whole 12 x 12 paper.  I used a matching paper from the Enjoy the Journey Designer Series Paper.  Score at 6 and fold in half.  Add a piece of Tear & Tape down the side.  Fold over and stick down the side.  Add a piece of the Tear & Tape at the bottom.

Taco 3D Enjoy the Journey DSP Delicate Desert DSP Stylish Shapes dies Book Binding Fold Card Taco Fiesta A Grand Child Pictured with Taco Pez Jo Anne Hewins Luv 2 Create

Stamp, color, and cut out another horse.  Add a short length of black twine from the Baker's Twine Essentials Pack by adding a piece of tape just on the inside of the bag.  Add a small piece of tape at the bottom.  Add the horse with dimensionals hiding the end of the twine.

Add some M&M's with glue dots to look like candy coming from the horse pinata.

Tie some of the Polished Pink Open Weave Ribbon for handles.  I punched small holes.  I was afraid that the ribbon might pull through with a lot of handling.  I did put some tape over the ends on the inside of the bag.

Slip in the extra candy so there will be some to eat.
