Welcome to the NC Demo Blog Hop where our theme this month is Cute as a Bug!
I'm so glad that you are here! Our hop comes out on the last Sunday in each month at 8:00 pm ET. You may have just come from Tonya Bowers' blog. I know you liked her projects! I want to encourage you to visit them all. You will be inspired.
I chose to use the Honeybee Home stamp set and the Honeybee Blooms dies. You can still get the two of these as a bundle. That's a 10% savings! This card is also a birthday card for my sister Martha. Hope you had a great day!
This card has a book binding opening and I think it's pretty cute. The base is from Thick Basic White measuring 4 1/4 x 11. Score it at 4 1/4 and 5 1/2. Fold as always in the middle and then fold it back at the next score. Go ahead and glue down the small space.
I'm using the Perfectly Penciled Designer Series Paper for my card. The stripe piece is cut to 1 x 4. The larger piece measures 4 x 4.
I used the Layering Circles dies for the Daffodil Delight circle. Cut the largest circle. Run this through the Cut & Emboss Machine with the Hive 3D Embossing Folder. Glue to the card near the bottom center.
The flowers on this card are actually part of the Perfectly Penciled DSP. I colored it with blends. Use Dark Daffodil Delight for the center of the flowers. I used the light one and kind of lightly added a little color up from the center and left the tips white. The stems and leaves were colored with the light and dark Granny Apple Green blends.
I fussy cut the flowers. There was a small area that would not fit on the front so I snipped it off and added it inside the card. I added this cut out to the card with dimensionals. Just move the flowers around until they fit on the card and look right to you.
For the sentiment I used the Charming Sentiments bundle with the Sentiment Silhouettes dies. These dies actually fit around the sayings in the stamp set. If you don't like to fussy cut, these might be for you! Glue this to the card since the flowers are already on dimensionals. I think I did add one at the very end where the sentiment extends past the flowers.
Well you must remember the theme of the blog hop, so here come some bees. The Honeybee Home stamp set has three different bees and I used them all. Stamp them in Memento Black and color in with the dark Daffodil Delight. I did add some more black using my Basic Black Stampin' Write marker. Use the Honeybee Blooms to cut out the bees and add to the card on dimensionals. Add some Wink of Stella to the wings of the bees.
Finally wrap some of the Metallic Mesh Ribbon around the card and tie it into a knot. That ribbon made me think of the wings of the bees.
The inside shows where I placed the rest of the flowers from my cut out. This sentiment is from the Charming Seniments stamp set. It's not a birthday saying, but a needed one for my recipient. I'm glad we have that saying.
Thanks for joining me today. Tina Lesson is up next and you'll definitely want to check out her project.
