Cards - Birthday

Color Fusers Blog Hop for May 2021

Welcome to the Color Fusers Blog Hop for May of 2021.  We are using the colors Poppy Parade, Flirty Flamingo, Pool Party, and Bumblebee.  You might have just come from Melissa's blog.  I'm sure she had a very artsy sample.  I love her creations!  I'm so glad you are here.

For my card I'm using the Sweet Ice Cream bundle.  These items are carried over to the new catalog as separate items.

Color Fusers May Sweet Ice Cream Card by Jo Anne Hewins

Start with a card base of Poppy Parade that is 5 1/2 x 8 1/2, folded at 4 1/4.

The next layer is Flirty Flamingo and measures 3 3/4 x 5.  Assemble all from this layer and then add at the end to the Poppy Parade base with dimensionals or you could use the Foam Adhesive Sheets as well.

A layer of Basic White measuring 3 5/8 x 4 7/8  is next.  Use a Pool Party Stampin' Write Marker to make speckles over this layer.  Simply pull the large end of the marker over the inside of the cap toward the paper.  Now run this layer through the Cut & Emboss Machine with the Tasteful Textile Embossing Folder.  Glue to the Flirty Flamingo layer.

Punch the cone from the Ice Cream Corner Designer Series Paper.  This paper is still available until the end of June since it's in the January-June catalog.  Use the Ice Cream Cone Builder Punch.

Stamp two each of the ice cream cones in our colors for today Poppy Parade, Flirty Flamingo, Pool Party, and Bumblebee.  The bumblebee ice cream is stamped off.

Start with the cone at the bottom and one ice cream scoop.  Keep piling on the scoops until you are at the top.  I had one scoop left over for the inside of the card.

Stamp the saying on Basic White in Poppy Parade and fussy cut with snips.  Add across the card with dimensionals.

Tie a length of the Pool Party Sheer Ribbon around this flamingo layer and tie in a bow in front.  I like to add a little glue dot under the first tie.  That's holds everything in place while you finish the bow.

Add some of the Artistry Blooms Adhesive Backed Sequins in Pool Party.

For the inside of the card, punch another cone and use the left over scoop from the front.  The saying is from the Sweet Ice Cream stamp set in Poppy Parade.

Butterfly Brilliance Bundle So Pretty!

I've been enjoying using the Butterfly Brilliance bundle.  Let me show you my project.

Brilliant Butterfly by Jo Anne Hewins

I am going to miss the Seaside Spray color so much.  We made this card in my last card class and now I'm down to 1/2 sheet of this color.  So sad!

The card base is Seaside Spray 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and scored and folded at 4 1/4.

The next layer is also Seaside Spray and measures 4 1/8 x 5 3/8.  Stamp this layer with the Butterfly Brilliance background stamp.  To make sure I got a good image, I used the Stamparatus.  I stamped the image on the Stamparatus grid paper.  This helped me know where to place my card stock.  Use Seaside Spray ink.  I did add a little bit of Seal so that I could adhere my paper just in case I needed to stamp again.  Once you have the Seal down, touch the tape several times to remove some of the sticky.  That way you can get your card stock up without tearing the paper.  Once stamped, use the Tasteful Textile Embossing Folder to add interest.  Glue to the front of the card.

Use the Stitched Shapes largest circle to cut a circle from Vellum card stock.  The Layering Circles dies have a coordinating scalloped circle.  Cut from Silver Foil.

Cut the largest detailed butterfly from Seaside Spray using the Brilliant Wings dies.  Add the butterfly to the vellum down the center of the body.  Lift up the wings.  Now adhere the vellum to the silver foil.  Turn over the vellum and put the adhesive down the butterfly body.  Now you won't see the adhesive on the vellum.  Add the foil layer to the front of the card with dimensionals.

Brilliant Butterfly Close Up by Jo Anne Hewins

Add a bow of the twine from the Flowers For Every Season Ribbon Combo pack.  Use a rolled up glue dot.

The saying for this card is from the Friendly Flamingo stamp set.  Stamp in Versamark, add Silver Emboss Powder, and heat.  Use the Classic Label Punch to cut this out.  Add with dimensionals.

Brilliant Butterfly Inside by Jo Anne Hewins

For the inside, the saying is again from Friendly Flamingo.  Add another butterfly cut from the Brilliant Wings dies.

Happiest of Birthdays with Sand & Sea Designer Series Paper

It's time for the Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge #659.  We have a sketch!

CCMC659

I trying to make myself use my designer series paper instead of hoarding it.  So my card for today uses the Sand & Sea DSP.

CCMC #659 Sand & Sea DSP by Jo Anne Hewins

Start with a base of Thick Basic White that measures 5 1/2 x 8 1/2.  Score this at 4 1/4 and folder using a Bone Folder to burnish the fold.

Cut the water rippling paper to fit the card front at 4 1/4 x 5 1/2.  Glue this to the front.  Glue is really the better way to go.  It gives you just a little give to fit the paper perfectly.

Choose two different patterns and cut them to 3 1/4 x 4 1/4.

Glue one of these in the upper right corner leaving about 3/4 inch on the top and side.

Use the Happiest of Birthdays stamp set to stamp the largest saying on the second paper.  Use the Stamparatus to get a perfect dark print.  I stamped in Melon Mambo.  Add this layer over the first leaving about 3/4 on the top and side of this panel.

Add a strip of the sand colored paper that is 1/2 x 4 1/4 down the left side.  Use the sketch to help with placement.

CCMC #659 Sand & Sea Close Up by Jo Anne Hewins

There is a sheet of designer paper with seashells.  Pick some to cut apart and add to embellish the card front.  Glue most of them, but add a couple with dimensionals.

CCMC#659 Sand & Sea Inside by Jo Anne Hewins

For the inside of the card, the saying is from the Friendly Flamingo stamp set.  Stamp in Melon Mambo.   Add a few more shells in the corner.

This is a pretty easy card.  I hope you will try it!

Parcels & Petals One Last Good-bye

It's always so exciting when we have a new catalog coming!  It's so much fun to see new products and dream of what to make with them.  It's also a little sad because we have to say good-bye to some sets and dies.  Today I'm using the Parcels & Petals stamp set along with the Perfect Parcels dies.  I will admit that the parcel is a bit difficult to put together, but the stamp set makes beautiful cards.

Parcels & Petals Card by Jo Anne Hewins

The base of this card is So Saffron.  It measures 4 1/4 x 11, score and fold at 5 1/2.  I'm not much of a yellow person, but today this seemed perfect.  I should use yellows more often.  It's a pretty card.  Stamp the 3 flower stamp in the upper right and the lower left corners.  Add a few leaves with stamped off Pear Pizzazz.

The next layer is cut to 3 3/4 x 5 also from So Saffron.  Stamp the flowers all over this layer changing the orientation of the stamp to fit the flowers together.  Add leaves with stamped off Pear Pizzazz.  Drag the edges of the card across the surface of the So Saffron pad all around it.  This will give some definition to the layer.

Run some of the white twine from the Snail Mail Twine Combo Pack around the lower part of the card twice and tape to the center of the front.

Cut the detailed piece from the Perfect Parcels dies using the detailed die and the outline die together.  Add over the twine with dimensionals.

Stamp the saying on Basic White in So Saffron.  Cut this out with the dies.  Glue down.

Parcels & Petals Close Up by Jo Anne Hewins

Stamp the flowers stamp two times on Basic White.   Cut out all three layers of each flower with Paper Snips.  Add the layers together a little askew with glue dots and add to the card with dimensionals.  Stamp 4 leaves in Pear Pizzazz and cut out.  Add these.  Some can be glued and some are added with dimensionals.  Add some of the Elegant Faceted Gems to the center of the flowers.

Parcels & Petals Inside by Jo Anne Hewins

For the inside, stamp the flowers along the bottom of the insert and add leaves.  Stamp the saying in Pear Pizzazz.  If you are a stamper you know why I have the saying framed.  I did not stamp the saying straight.  This was a way to cover my mistake and save starting over.

Parcels & Petals Project by Jo Anne Hewins

I really had not used this set in a while, but I will miss it.  If you need it, it's on the Last Chance List.
