Celebrate Sunflowers and Flowers for Every Season Designer Series Paper

Today I have a card using the Celebrate Sunflowers stamp set and the Flowers for Every Season Designer Series Paper.  I've chosen to use some colors that lend themselves to this fall season.

Celebrate Sunflowers Pic by Jo Anne Hewins

I think it's quite pretty and it's easy.  The base is Cinnamon Cider measuring 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and folded at 4 1/4.  Stamp over the card front with the large sunflower stamp from Celebrating Sunflowers.

Cut paper from the Flowers for Every Season 6 x 6 Designer Series Paper.  The center piece is cut to 1 x 4 1/4.  The other 2 designer papers are cut to 1 1/4 x 3 1/4.

Glue down the center piece.  I use my Grid Paper to help me get the paper straight on the card.  Add the next 2 papers on dimensionals centered over the piece already added.

Celebrate Sunflowers Close UP by Jo Anne Hewins

Stamp the saying from Celebrate Sunflowers on yet another pattern from Flowers for Every Season.  Punch out with the 2 inch circle punch.  Glue to the layers.  You could add a dimensional in the center of the circle.

Glue dot a bow made from the Bumblebee Ribbon and add some of the 2020-2022 In Color Enamel Dots.

Just stamp the saying and a sunflower in Cinnamon Cider on the inside.

A Jar of Flowers Field of Flowers

Last week my daughter Jessie celebrated a birthday.  Of course I had to make her a card.  Just a few days earlier, Jessie had made an announcement on Facebook using this picture and words.

Sagan, Mommy, and Daddy are excited to announce that we are having a little pumpkin due March 2021! Sagan is going to be the best big sister to a little SISTER!!! 👶🏼👧🏼👨‍👩‍👧‍👧🎀💗🎃🤰🏼🍁🌻

YES! I'M GOING TO BE GRAMMIE AGAIN!!!

One of the pictures also showed them in another field of flowers with lots of colors.  I accepted the challenge.

Jar of Flowers for Jessie Birthday by Jo Anne Hewins

I'm using the Jar of Flowers bundle for this card.

I started with a card base of Mango Melody.  Mind you, I hardly ever use this color.  Brights are not my thing.  This color was really the only choice.  It measures 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and is folded at 4 1/4.

Next, use a piece of Whisper White cut to 4 x 5 1/4.  To stamp the background, you will need to make a mask.  Do this by stamping the flowers on a sticky pad.  Make sure that part of the image is on the sticky part.  Cut this out on the lines.  This isn't the easiest image to cut.  Keep your mask in your stamp case when done just in case you need it again.  It will save time!  You will only need to stamp around the outer edges of the layer.  The middle will be covered.  I started in the lower left corner and stamped in Memento Black.  Now this ink will smudge so be careful and don't get in a hurry.  Work your way up the left edge.  Mask and stamp the image above and repeat until done.

Stamp across the right side starting again at the bottom and working your way up to the top.

Now still using the mask work your way across the top and the bottom.

Let dry a little.  Color in with the following blends:  Flirty Flamingo combo, Light Old Olive, Light Mossy Meadow, Cherry Cobbler combo, Dark Soft Suede, and Mango Melody combo.  You will need to adlib a little when coloring the images.  Trust me, it will come out great!

Jar of Flowers for Jessie Close Up by Jo Anne Hewins

Cut a frame from Mango Melody card stock using the Stitched Rectangles dies.  I've sent the card so I can't remember which dies I used.  I did skip a die between.  Cut a piece of Whisper White with the die that is between.  Add the white rectangle to the center of the card.  Add the mango frame using Foam Adhesive Sheets.  Just cut about 3/4 inch strips.

Stamp the jar in Memento Black on white.  The Jar of Flowers stamp set is a reversible set.  Use the smooth side of the stamp that shows the water level.  Stamp off Pool Party and then stamp on the bottom of the jar.  Clean the stamp and turn it over.  With a Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker color in the top two curved lines.  This will show the top of the water in the jar.  Stamp.

Stamp the stems in Memento Black.  Make sure the stems go all the way to the top of the jar.  Color in with a Light Old Olive blend.  Punch this out with the Jar punch.  Add with dimensionals.

Stamp the flower bouquet in Black Memento on white.  Color with the same blends as above.  Add a little Wink of Stella to some of the flowers.  Fussy cut and add with dimensionals.

The saying comes from the Itty Bitty Birthdays stamp set.  Stamp in Early Espresso.  Cut out the tag using the Mini Curvy Keepsakes Box dies.  Add to the card.

Attach a Linen Thread bow with a rolled up glue dot.

The little pumpkin of course refers to our announcement.  The image comes from the Gather Together bundle.

I hope that Jessie loved her card.  I'm sure she did.  I sure enjoyed making it for her!  I do love the look of a field of flowers.

Boho Indigo Product Medley Scrappy Strips

Do you love blues and vanilla?  Do you love little prints?  When I see little prints, it reminds me of my grandmother Mama Blackwell.  She was a sweet white haired lady who loved to sew.  She liked little prints with flowers.  When I look at the designer papers from the Boho Indigo paper stack, I see Mama Blackwell.  She would want to make a dress with these prints!  She might even use several of them.

My card uses the beautiful Boho Indigo Designer Series Paper from the Boho Indigo Product Medley.  It's found on page 9 of the Annual Catalog.  I used the scrappy strips technique.

Boho Indigo Scrappy Strips Card by Jo Anne Hewins

Do you see what I'm saying about this paper!  My base is Night of Navy that is 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and folded at 4 1/4.

The Very Vanilla layer is 3 7/8 x 5 1/8.

Next is a layer of Misty Moonlight that measures 3 3/4 x 5.  I had left over strips from making other cards and I thought this would be a great way to use some of them.  They'll need to be about 4 1/2 inches long.  They will hang off the side, but that's fine.  Cut one side at an angle.  Alternate putting the wider end and then the thinner end as you fill up each row.  Leave just a little of the Misty Moonlight card stock showing between rows.  Trim the sides when you finish.

Add a piece of designer paper along the left side.  It measures 1 x 5.

Add a length of the gold ribbon, included in the medley, along the seam and tape to the back.

Boho Indigo Scrappy Strips Close Up by Jo Anne Hewins

The gold decorated tag is part of the product medley.  Stamp the saying in Night of Navy ink.  Did I tell you that the kit contains the Boho Indigo stamp set and the Boho Indigo coordinating dies?  Yes, it does!

Add the tag with dimensionals.  Add a loop of the gold ribbon with glue dots.  Use the Linen Thread to make another bow and add with a rolled up glue dot.

Use Pear Pizzazz, Soft Sea Foam, and Mossy Meadow to cut 2 leaves of each design.  Add to the top and bottom of the label with glue and dimensionals.

Add three flowers with glue dots.  The flowers are part of the kit.

A Simple Card Using the Prized Peony Stamp Set

Would you like to make a simple, but elegant, card using the Prized Peony stamp set.  You just need to add a little of the Peony Garden Designer Series Paper!  Magic happens!

Prized Peony Card by Jo Anne Hewins

If you need multiples of a card, this is a great one!

Start with a base of Thick Whisper White that measures 4 1/4 x 11.  Score and fold at 5 1/2.

Add a piece of the Peony Gardens patterned paper that measures 4 x 5 1/4.  I like to use our Multipurpose Liquid Glue because it will have a little give to it for a couple seconds.  Add a little strip of the Gray Granite paper across the center.  It measures 3/4 x 4.  This just adds a little interest to the card.

Cut a rectangle from Whisper White using the Stitched So Sweetly dies.  Use the largest rectangle.  Stamp the large peony on this rectangle in Gray Granite ink.  If you are making multiples, I would suggest using the Stamparatus.  You can get a little assembly line going.  I might suggest that you use the Stamparatus anyway.  It's often large to make sure a large stamp is covered with ink.  The Stamparatus would allow you to ink it again if needed.  Add the panel with dimensionals.

The saying for this card comes from the Blossoms in Bloom stamp set.  Stamp in Petal Pink, cut it apart, and then glue to the card.

Prized Peony Inside by Jo Anne Hewins

For the inside, stamp the large peony flower again in Gray Granite.  The saying is stamped in Petal Pink and it is also from the Blossoms in Bloom stamp set.

There you go.  Simple, elegant, and quick.  Thanks for your time today!

Happiest of Birthdays and Whale Done

Today I have a card for you using the Happiest of Birthdays and Whale Done.  We'll be using the Stamparatus to help us with this one.  Here's a picture.

Seabed Happiest of Birthdays by Jo Anne Hewins

Begin this card with a card base of Bermuda Bay that is 5 1/2 x 8 1/2.  Fold at 4 1/4.

Run a 4 x 5 1/4 piece of Coastal Cabana through the new Stampin' Up! Cut & Emboss machine using the Seabed 3D Embossing Folder.  This folder is so pretty.  There's so much detail.  Make that detail pop by sponging this layer with Bermuda Bay ink.  You don't need to sponge the very center because it will be covered up.

The Whisper White layer is cut using the largest scalloped rectangle from the Stitched So Sweetly dies.

Seabed Happiest of Birthdays Close Up by Jo Anne Hewins

We are going to stamp the largest birthday saying from the Happiest of Birthdays stamp set.  I set this up on my Stamparatus so that the saying would be right in the middle of my die cut rectangle.  Use the Bermuda Bay, Coastal Cabana, and Night of Navy Stampin' Write markers to color directly on the stamp.  I'll have a video to show you how to do this.  Start with the lightest color, Coastal Cabana, and color with the bigger point.  I caution against using the point of the marker, but more the side of it.  Color in about 1/3 of the saying and stamp.  Color and stamp again if needed.  Clean the stamp.  Now, using the Bermuda Bay color in the middle of the stamp.  Repeat if needed.  Make sure that all the letters have stamped.  Clean.  Now repeat this whole process with the Night of Navy stamp set.  You have a beautiful ombre effect card.

Here's the video showing how to make this card.

Stamp off with the Coastal Cabana and stamp several of the jelly fish (I did 3) over the words.  Add the dots in Bermuda Bay.  Some are fully inked and some are stamped off.  Add this layer with dimensionals.  Cut a turtle from the Whale of a Time Designer Series Paper to add at the bottom of the layer.  Glue the top and add a dimensional to the bottom where it extends over the layer.  Add some Wink of Stella to give the turtle some glimmer and shine.

Seabed Happiest of Birthdays Inside by Jo Anne Hewins

Here is the inside of the card.  This saying is colored with the markers in the same way as the label on the front.  The jelly fish over the words is stamped off.  The other two are not stamped off.  Add more of the dots.
