Cards - Birthday

#Simplestamping with Rooted in Nature

I have a super simple card for you today.  There's just some stamping and tying a bow.  That's it!

Rooted in Nature Simple Card by Jo Anne Hewins

The leaves in the Rooted in Nature stamp set, located on page 148 of the Annual catalog, are so pretty!

For this card, start with a card base of Mossy Meadow that is 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and folded at 4 1/4.

You will need a piece of Whisper White that is 4 x 5 1/4.  The saying is from the Rooted in Nature stamp set.  Stamp in Cherry Cobbler.

Stamp leaves!  I used Cherry Cobbler, Mossy Meadow, Old Olive, and Crushed Curry,  It's easier to start with the largest leaves and work your way down to the smallest.

Run a length of Linen Thread across the card.  I used scotch tape to hold it on the back of the card.  Add a bow of the Linen Thread with a rolled up glue dot.

For the inside of the card, the saying is from the Itty Bitty Birthdays stamp set.  Stamp leaves in the same colors as on the front of the card.

It's just this simple!  This easy card can be stamped in about 10 minutes.

Dino Days Meets Ride With Me

My great nephew Clark had his second birthday recently.  He loves trucks and he also loves dinosaurs.  I decided to make him a card with both.  Maddox also had a birthday.  He turned 8.  He is the son of my son Jeff's girlfriend.  He got the same card.  Happy Birthday to you both.

I used the Dino Days bundle with the stamp set and the Dino dies.  The Ride With Me bundle was also used.  They are all a winning combination!

Dino Days and Ride with Me by Jo Anne Hewins

For this card begin with a base of Pretty Peacock that is 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and folded at 4 1/4.  Stamp randomly around the surface of the card with the little circles stamp.  Use Pretty Peacock ink.

Near the bottom of the card, add a 1/2 inch strip of the Dinoroar Designer Series Paper.

Stamp the truck stamp in Tuxedo Black Memento ink on Lovely Lipstick cardstock.  Stamp again on Gray Granite cardstock.  Fussy cut the parts of the truck in gray and glue these to the Lovely Lipstick truck.

The Dinoroar Designer Series Paper has a sheet that has dinosaurs that fit with the Dino dies.  All you have to do is cut them out!  I did fussy cut the ones with the plates down the back.  I wanted them attached.  Tape the dinosaurs behind the truck.  I just used regular scotch tape.  Add the truck and dinosaurs with dimensionals to the card.  Don't forget to add the flying reptile with dimensionals, too.

Wildly Happy About the Stars

Hello to you today!  I have a card that I made for my daughter Jessie's birthday recently.  Now you might think that there is a lot of stuff going on, but it all has a meaning for Jessie.

Wild About You Birthday Card by Jo Anne Hewins

First of all Jessie is the mother of my one and only grandchild Sagan.  Sagan is loving pandas so they are a big part of their home.  There is a panda chair and stuffed pandas.  The list goes on.  So what is more perfect than a mother panda and her baby.  That's my Jessie and Sagan.

Second, Sagan was kind of named after Carl Sagan from back in the 70's.  Do any of you remember him?  He's the Cosmos guy.  Therefore, we have the stars and the moon.

That's the card.  I saw the pandas in front of the plants on someone else's card somewhere.  I can't seem to find where right now.  It's not original.

The card base is Night of Navy that is 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and folded at 4 1/4.  The next layer is Seaside Spray.  It is cut to 4 1/8 x 5 3/8.  Stamp the star swirls using the Stargazing stamp set in Night of Navy.  Now add the small starts from the So Many Stars stamp set.  That's also in navy.

Wild About You Close Up by Jo Anne Hewins

The leaves are cut in Pear Pizzazz cardstock.  Use the Well Written dies.  Glue to the card.

The pandas are stamped on Whisper White in Tuxedo Memento Black ink.  Go over some of the lines in the stamp with a  Light Smoky Slate blend.  Fussy cut and add to the card with dimensionals.

Stamp the moon from Stargazing on Whisper White in Daffodil Delight.  Fussy cut and add to the card.

The Happy Birthday is from the Piece of Cake stamp set.  Stamp in navy and cut apart.  Glue to the card. Wild About You Birthday Inside by Jo Anne Hewins

Here is the inside of the card.  The saying is from the Little Twinkle stamp set.  Stamp the tiny stars from So Many Stars in navy and Seaside Spray.

Wild About You Birthday Card for Jessie by Jo Anne Hewins

I say a little late Happy Birthday to my sweet girl.  I told her that I also realize that since Sagan's birth, I don't think we have any pictures of Jessie alone!

Loving the Moose!

I was so excited to see the Merry Moose stamp set and coordinating Moose punch in the Holiday catalog.  Punches are so easy to use.  I was really happy to see so many punch offerings in the Holiday catalog.  Here is my card for today.

Merry Moose September Project by Jo Anne Hewins

I also love the new Basic Pattern Decorative Masks on page 35 of the catalog.  You could miss these since they are in a small picture in the lower left of the page.

The card base is Soft Suede 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and folded at 4 1/4.  Using the tree trunk masks color with a sponge dauber around the outside of the base about 1/2 inch.  The rest of the front will be covered.  Sponge with Soft Suede.

The Early Espresso layer is 3 5/8 x 4 7/8.  The Seaside Spray layer is 3 1/2 x 4 3/4.  Use the masks and the dauber to color in the trees over all of this layer.  Use Soft Suede.

Tear is piece of 1 x 4 3/4 Whisper White across the top and add to the bottom of the Seaside Spray layer.  Stamp the saying from Animal Outing in Early Espresso to the right of the card.

Stamp the moose on Whisper White in Early Espresso.  Color with the Light and Dark Crumb Cake blends.  Punch out the moose.  Glue to the card.  Add footprints in Soft Suede.  Stamp the raccoon on Whisper White again in Early Espresso.  Use Light and Dark Soft Suede and Light and Dark Smoky Slate blends to color.  This image will need to be fussy cut and glued to the card front.

For the inside, the saying is from the Itty Bitty Birthdays stamp set.  Add another moose.

Merry Moose September Inside by Jo Anne Hewins

I wanted to show that the Merry Moose stamp set is not just for Christmas.  It makes a great birthday card, too.  We did make this card in one of my classes.  Some did want to change the sentiments so that it was a Christmas card.  That's fine, too!

Color Fusers Blog Hop for September, 2019

Welcome to the Color Fusers Blog Hop for September!  You may have come from Tami's blog post.  Wow!  What a great project!  This month, we are using Rococo Rose, Merry Merlot, Night of Navy, and Mossy Meadow as our color palette.  These colors are fantastic together!

No photo description available.

I am using the Beautiful Friendship stamp set for my project.  There is lots of fussy cutting, but it's easy cutting.

Color Fusers Beautiful Friendship by Jo Anne Hewins

This stamp set makes it so easy to make pretty cards!

I started with a card base of Merry Merlot.  It measures 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and folded at 4 1/4.   Next is a layer in Night of Navy paper from the Neutrals Designer Series Paper.  I cut it to 4 1/8 x 5 3/8.  I wanted it to cover most of the base with just a little around it.

Color Fusers Beautiful Friendship a Closer Look by Jo Anne Hewins

All of the pieces were stamped on Whisper White card stock.  Most of it was scraps that I had collected.  Who doesn't have a large amount of white scraps!  I stamped two of the hydrangeas in Night of Navy, three of the roses in Rococo Rose with Merry Merlot centers, three of the sprigs in Merry Merlot, and lots of leaves in Mossy Meadow.  There are two kinds of leaves in the Beautiful Friendship stamp set.  I stamped 4 of the three leaf group and 5 of the two leaf group.  Of course you could make this any way you want!  Fussy cut it all.  As I said before the cutting is all pretty easy.  Arrange on the card base and begin to attach.  I added the 2 large hydrangeas first and then filled in.  I used dimensionals, glue dots, and glue.

The saying is from the Very Versailles stamp set.  Stamp in Merry Merlot on white scrap.  Use your trimmer to cut around it.  I glued it down.

Color Fusers Beautiful Friendship Inside of Card by Jo Anne Hewins

Here is the inside of the card.  Just stamp using the same colors for each flower as on the front.  This saying is also from the Very Versailles stamp set.

Here is a video showing how I made this card.  I hope you find it useful.

Thanks for stopping by.  Up next is Nicolle.  I hope you will visit all of the Color Fusers group!
