NC Demo Blog Hop for September 2024 Hello Pumpkin!
September 29, 2024
Welcome to the NC Demo Blog Hop for September! Our theme for the month is Hello Pumpkin! I'm so glad that you are here. You may just be starting our little hop. If so, please continue along to see all of our pumpkin samples. I know you'll enjoy the hop. If you have come from Toni Campana's blog post, I'm so happy to have you!
I have a frame for you today using the Scenic Pumpkin Patch.
It's really hard to get a good picture with the shadows. For this picture I took out the glass because of the reflection. Of course I would put the glass in when using the frame. It's easier to see without the frame, so here's a picture without it.
This frame is from Ikea and I've had it a long time. It is 9 x 9. Of course you can adjust your pieces for the frame you have.
The Sweet Days of Autumn Designer Series Paper is part of Stampin' Up!'s new scrapbook offerings. It is 12 x 12 and has 4 double sided designs with 4 of each design in the pack. This would great if you are teaching classes! I used the Cajun Craze piece with tiny little trees in the design. Cut to 9 x 9 and glue to a piece of cardboard the same size. I used the backing from some of our specialty papers that is heavier.
The larger leaves for the background of the frame are cut using the Autumn Leaves dies and are cut from
what some might call the flip side of Spendid Autumn 6 x 6 Designer Series Paper. They are added with a glue dot near the base and a mini demensional out at the end.
The smaller cluster of leaves are cut from Thoughtful Journey 6 x 6 Designer Series Paper. The variations of the paper make the leaves look more authentic. I used the Encircled in Nature dies from the Online Exclusives for this. Give them a little haircut and glue where you like.
For the focal points of the frame, I used the Something Fancy dies to cut the Early Espresso backing and another smaller one in Basic White.
The top picture has a sentiment from the So Sincere stamp set in Early Espresso. The single pumpkin is first inked in Pumpkin Pie and then some Cajun Craze is added near the bottom of the stamp with a sponge dauber. Be sure to clean your stamp before inking it up again to keep the ink pad clean. I've added the leaves in Mossy Meadow. I thought it was neat the way you can connect the leaves all the way across. That was a happy accident!
The bottom picture has the stamp with three pumpkins. These were inked with the same colors as above. I did need to make a mask by stamping the pumpkins on a sticky note and cutting them out. Make two. Place the mask on top of the first pumpkins stamped to stamp the second group. Cover both sets of pumpkins to stamp the ground in Old Olive.
For the top picture here, ink the 5 pumpkin stamp in Peach Pie. Now add a little Pumpkin Pie with a sponge dauber right on the stamp. I felt it was a little hard to tell the top from the bottom. Notice that one of the pumpkins extends above the others. Add the stems in Mossy Meadow. Make a mask for the pumpkin cluster. Add the fence in Pecan Pie and the ground in Old Olive. There's a lot of pie in this one!
The bottom picture has a scene. Stamp a little hill with Old Olive. This hill could also be used as a cloud at another time. The house is stamped in Cherry Cobbler with an Early Espresso roof. The smaller pumpkins are inked in Peach Pie with Cajun Craze added to the bottom of the stamp with Cajun Craze. Tops are in Mossy Meadow. For the trees ink in Early Espresso at the side of the pad. Carefully ink only the trees and not the earth at the bottom. Now ink the earth in Old Olive again using the side of the pad hanging the trees off the edge. Stamp. Each tree is a different color with the center in Crushed Curry, Pumpkin Pie on the left and Cherry Cobbler on the right.
I tried adding the white with dimensionals to the Early Espresso layer but I just didn't like it. The white is glued to its base. I recommend adding each picture with Foam Adhesive Sheets cut to size. Mine is added with dimensionals and I just don't feel like it is solid enough. If I make another, I'll change that.
It was a lot of fun working with the placement of everything. It comes down to what makes you happy. There is no right or wrong. Colors used for the frame are Pecan Pie, Crushed Curry, Early Espresso, Mossy Meadow, Old Olive, Cherry Cobbler, Peach Pie, Pumpkin Pie, and Cajun Craze. In the end, I am happy with the results. If you make a frame, please send me a picture. I want to see yours! Next up is Frances Wagner. She always has a great project. I didn't use a lot of Pumpkin Pie in my sample because it's not a favorite of mine. Let's see the other creations in the hop!

Jo Anne, this is so pretty, I loved that you made a framed item. I somehow over looked that stamp set but I like it a lot now that I have seen what you ladies have done with it.
