Changing Leaves Bundle Faux Step Card

I just had a Luv 2 Create Team meeting this past Saturday.  One of our projects was this faux step card using the Changing Leaves bundle.  I love how it turned out!

This card uses several items from the new Online Exclusives release.  First of all is the Changing Leaves bundle.  I'm a sucker for leaves, so this went on my order right away.  The Season of Green & Gold Specialty Designer Series Paper is also used for the card even though it isn't a Christmas card.  Don't you love it when a product can be used for more than one thing.

The base of the card is Mossy Meadow cut to 5 1/2 x 8, score at 1 1/2, 3, and 5 1/2.  You'll also need another piece of  Mossy Meadow 3 x 8, scored at 4.

Find the larger parts of the base and fold these in a mountain fold.  You'll then have a valley fold and another mountain fold with the smaller areas.  The smaller parts are at the front of the card.

Use Country Woods Designer Series Paper to cover the areas facing the front.  You need a piece that is 2 3/8 x 5 3/8 and a second piece of the same paper that is 1 3/8 x 5 3/8.  Emboss both of these papers with the Changing Leaves 3D embossing folder.  You can do both of them at the same time.  Glue to the corresponding areas.

It's a little hard to see the embossing in a picture, but it adds a lot to the card!

Fold in half the smaller piece of Mossy Meadow.  Add the patterned paper to the front.  It measures 2 7/8 x 3 7/8.

Glue this smaller card to the base.  I tried to place mine in the middle, but I'm a little off.  The front of the small card is glued to the outer most part of the front of the base.  Close the card.  Use glue on the area that will touch the back of the card.

Use the Spotlight on Nature dies to cut a Mossy Meadow circle.  I used the one with the dashes and dots around the outside.  It measures about 2 3/4 across.  Now cut a Very Vanilla circle using the Deckled Circles dies.  This one is just a little smaller than the Mossy Meadow one.  You are still able to see the decorative part of the mossy circle.  Stamp the vanilla circle with the largest leaf in the Changing Leaves set in Mossy Meadow.  I used the Light Mossy Meadow blend and the Light Old Olive blend to color in the leaves.  Glue the circle to the center of the mossy circle and add to the smaller card front with dimensionals.

Stamp the saying from Changing Leaves in Mossy Meadow on a Very Vanilla scrap.  Cut this out using the Changing Leaves dies.  Add the saying gluing where it overlaps the circle and a dimensional where it extends beyond.

Cut two of the triple small leaves from Mossy Meadow card stock.  Add to the card, one in the upper right and the other over the saying.

Tie a bow of Linen Thread and add with a glue dot.

Finish with a Neutals Adhesive-Backed Sequin.

For the back stamp the large leaves stamp in Mossy Meadow on a piece of Very Vanilla 2 7/8 x 3 7/8.  Add a saying from the Changing Leaves set.
