Detailed Dogwood Sale-a-Bration in Black and White

I think a black and white card is just classy.  The Detailed Dogwood stamp set is a free choice for Sale-a-Bration here in the US with a $100 purchase.  I can see a lot of potential with this set.

I'm using the Zany Zoo Designer Series Paper with the Detailed Dogwood stamp set.  As I said, I love a black and white card.  This one has just a little bit of color added with the Watercolor Pencils.

The base of this card is Thick Basic White 4 1/4 x 11, score and fold at 5 1/2.

Cut a piece of the Zany Zoo paper to 4 1/4 x 5 1/2.  Glue to the front.

Stamp the large stamp in Memento Black on Basic White.  Cut it out with the large die in the Meandering Meadows dies.  I love how the stamp looks in the window shape.  I'm going to let you in on a little secret.  When cutting the shape, I went just a tiny bit too high and slightly flattened the top of the oval.  That's when I decided that an extra flower at the top would look so nice.  We crafters learn how to hide a lot of our mistakes.  Cut out a flower and a leaf or two and add toward the top with a glue dot.  I curled the petals just a little with my Bone Folder.  Glue the window to the center of the card front.

Color in the picture using the Watercolor Pencils.  I used the Daffodil Delight, Pecan Pie, and Old Olive.  Use one of the Blender Pens to smooth out all of the color.  That looks so pretty.  It's really easy!

Tie a bow with Linen Thread.  Add to the card front with a glue dot down near the bottom.

Stamp one of the sayings from the Quiet Reflection stamp set.  Take a look at this set.  It has wonderful sayings that I don't think we've had before.  Stamp on a half inch strip of Basic White.  Angle each end.  Place Mini Dimensionals directly on the card front so that none of them will overlap the thread.  Add the saying.

Complete with some of the Brushed Brass Butterfly embellishments.

Here is the inside.  I inked up the same stamp and then taped off some of it.  I only wanted to get one flower.  I messed the stamping up at the very bottom.  My answer?  Just add a little strip of designer paper.  It covered it right up.  Color the flower with the Watercolor Pencils.
