NC Demo Blog Hop - Just Bee Cause
December 10, 2023
Boy, do we have a sneak peek for you! Some of our NC demonstrators who post in our blog hops decided to have a little card swap using the Bee Mine Valentine bundle. This bundle is included in the upcoming January-April Mini catalog. As demonstators we had access to this bundle early. It's so cute! We couldn't wait to come up with some great cards. I know you will love this hop! I've seen all the cards and they are wonderful!
So here is my card. You might notice that I don't have the large bee from the stamp set that uses the Bee Builder Punch. I used this set during a team meeting. When I started to make my card I realized there was an empty place in my stamp case. The stamp with the bee stripes was GONE! You know that those photopolymer stamps are sticky. They have a way of sticking to anything like the bottom of a paper trimmer, your shoe, under a stamp case, really anywhere. It may have happened to you. Admit it! I did find my stamp. It was still on the block I used but it had stuck to a bag containing mini blending brushes. Someone had asked about the brushes and I had gotten the bag to show them. I put the bag away and never noticed the stamp. It was in a drawer I don't open often, but for some reason I opened the drawer and found the stamp.
My card base is Thick Basic White 4 1/4 x 5 1/2.
The Bee Mine Designer Series Paper is so cute. Cut 2 pieces of the Sweet Sorbet paper with the flight lines that are 3/4 x 5 1/2. Glue these on each side of the card front. Align with the edges of the card.
Cut a piece of Basic White that is 3 x 11 and score at 5 1/2. Cover the front of this small card with the bee hive designer paper. Cut the paper to 3 x 5 1/2. If the paper is a little large, just turn over the card and trim the excess with Paper Snips. If it should be a little small, the white at the edge will show. Just trim that little bit off. We all hope that we cut everything perfectly, but that doesn't always happen.
Glue the smaller card in the center of the card base. Align at the top of the card. I use the lines on my Grid Paper to make sure that the little card is in the center and straight.
It's time to decorate. Cut a piece of Lemon Lime cardstock to 1/4 inch for the stem of the flower. I cut to a length of 4 inches. Use the Paper Florist dies for the flower. Cut the flower from Sweet Sorbet cardstock. Curl the petals with a Bone Folder glue them so that the petals all look the same size. The center is cut from Daffodil Delight cardstock. Glue it to the center of the flower.
For the saying I used the Bee Mine Valentine stamp set, of course. Stamp this on Basic White in Memento Black ink. Cut this out with the Something Fancy dies. Add with dimensionals toward the bottom of the flower stem.
Since I couldn't stamp my bee (A bee does need stripes.), I cut bees from the Bee Mine 12 x 12 Designer Series Paper. I do love to cut and our Paper Snips make cutting so easy! Add three bees to the card with dimensionals. Don't you love that they are all carrying hearts!
Embellish with a heart from the Adhesive-Backed Hearts & Flowers. They are part of the Bee Mine Suite Collection. This is found on pages 8, 9, and 10 of the mini catalog. You may not have the catalog yet, but you can contact your demonstrator. He or she might not have them yet, but they'll be happy to get you a catalog as soon as they can. You can always contact me.
Please take the entire hop! Warning! You might decide that you absolutely NEED to have this whole suite! Just remember y0u were warned!
