NC Demo Blog Hop for October A Little Something

Welcome!  I'm so glad that you are here!  You are in for a treat as you take the NC Demo October Blog Hop.  The theme is A Little Something.  We are heading into the holiday season! Parties, dinners and just getting together with friends and family. This is a perfect time for us to share some ideas for hostess gifts and/or party favors!

May be an image of jewelry and text that says 'a little gomething'

I admit this theme had me stumped.  I just didn't have an idea.  Some days are like that.  Then I remembered that Stampin' Up! has already taken care of this.  If you look on page 126 of the annual catalog, you'll find the Scalloped Gift Card Boxes #161751.  You get 10 of these for $7.  I decided to take advantage of this.  These boxes fit together with no adhesive needed.  There is a second piece for the gift card that fits inside.  This you can adhere if you wish.

I had so much fun using the Merry & Bright Bundle for this card.

Our hostess will be so happy!

First of all, let me say that I took some inspiration from our September-December Mini catalog page 9.  I love all the samples in our catalogs.  They are a great starting point when you are stumped!

To decorate the box top, I started making my lightbulbs.  Get some Vellum Cardstock and color one side of it with a Dark Melon Mambo Blend and another section with a Dark Granny Apple Green Blend.  I cut out the bulbs from the other side but I'm not sure that that matters using the Merry & Bright dies.  Cut out three of each color.  For the top of the bulbs, use the Melon Mambo and Granny Apple Green 12 x 12 Foil Sheets.  Again, you'll need 3 of each  color.  The filaments of the lightbulbs are cut out using a brand new product.  It's part of the new Online Exclusives beginning for everyone on November 7th.  It is Silver & Gold 12 x 12 Adhesive Backed Glimmer Paper.  It was so easy to adhere these with the sticky already on the back!

Use the silver trim from the Simply Elegant Trim Pack.  Make a knot and adhere with half of a rolled up glue dot.  Thread the bulbs through the trim and position them.  Add a glue dot behind the top of the bulb.  You can also add a glue dot behind the filament.  Secure the other end of the silver trim.

Color some of the Neutrals Adhesive Backed Sequins with the dark Melon Mambo and Granny Apple Green blends.  For some reason I just couldn't stop adding these.  They just might be a little overdone.  I decided to add them on the scallops of the lid as well.  What do you think?

Did you know that Stampin' Up! has 3 inch envelopes?  They are on page 135 of the annual catalog #159233 called Basic White 3 x 3 Envelopes.  You get 40 of them for $11.  For the card cut a piece of Thick Basic white 2 7/8 x 6.  Score and fold at 3.  Add the bulbs you have already made.  The words are from the Merry & Bright stamp set.  Stamp in Melon Mambo or Granny Apple Green and cut around them.  Add with dimensionals.

Cover the flap of the envelope with the Merry Bold & Bright Designer Series Paper.  Use a piece cut to 3 1/4 x 1 3/4.  Glue to the top of the flap and then trim away the extra from the back.

What hostess gift doesn't have chocolate???  Eight of the Hershey Nuggets will fit into the box.  Cover with more of the designer paper.  Cut the strips 1 x 3.  To make adhering the paper a little easier, use your Bone Folder to curl the paper.  then use Seal, or even better Seal + down the 3 inch part.  Wrap around beginning on the bottom.

Here the box is filled with delicious chocolate.  The gift card will still fit.

Inked & Tiled Using Scraps

I don't know about you, but sometimes I am overwhelmed with scraps.  Today I decided to use some of them.  I'm sharing three cards with you that take care of using some of my scraps.  They all have the same layout.  Best of all, they are easy to make.

Scrap paper card trio cards Inked Botanicals Bright and Beautiful Countryside Inn Inked and Tiled Jo Anne Hewins Luv 2 Create

I fell in love with the Inked & Tiled stamp set.  It works so well with these cards.

Scrap paper card Countryside Inn Inked and Tiled Jo Anne Hewins Luv 2 Create

This card has a Night of Navy base that measures 5 12 x 8 1/2.  Fold in half.

I began by pulling out all the scraps from the Countryside Inn Designer Series Paper.  These scraps are not the same width.  That really doesn't matter.  I began with a piece of Basic White 2 1/2 x 5 1/2.  Swirl some Multipurpose Liquid Glue about a third of the way from one side.  Begin adding strips of paper.  They will extend beyond the cardstock.  Butt each piece of paper to the last one.  Add more glue as needed.  Once the paper is covered, turn it over and trim all of the extra away.

Mount this layer on top of a layer of Misty Moonlight that is 3 x 5 1/2.  Mount that on the card base.

Use the Timeless Arrangements stamp set for the words and Inked & Tiled for the flowers.   Color directly on the red rubber stamp with a Misty Moonlight Stampin' Write Marker and with  a Lemon Lime Stampin' Write Marker.  Use the larger end and color using the side of the marker so you don't ruin the point.  Stamp on Basic White and punch with the 1 3/4 inch circle punch.  Punch a 2 inch circle from Misty Moonlight.  Add to the card with dimensionals.

Stamp thanks on a 1/2 inch scrap of Basic White.  Notch the end and glue in place.

Embellish with the Tinsel Gems Four-Pack.

Inked & Tiled Timeless Arrangements Bright & Beautiful DSP Tinsel Gems Four-Pack Jo Anne Hewins Luv 2 Create

This card has a base of Azure Afternoon.  The scraps are from the Bright & Beautiful Designer Series Paper.  The scrap layer is glued to a piece of Lemon Lime cardstock.  It is cut to 2 3/4 x 5 1/2.  I used an Azure Afternoon ribbon from the Sheer Ribbon Combo Pack.

Inked & Tiled Timeless Arrangements Inked Botanicals DSP Tinsel Gems Four-Pack Jo Anne Hewins Luv 2 Create

This card has a Lost Lagoon base.  The scraps are from the Inked Botanicals Designer Series Paper.  That layer is glued to a layer of Crushed Curry.  I used Adhesive-Backed Speckled Dots to embellish.

No photo description available.

Welcome to the Luv 2 Stamp Group’s 2023 Blog Hop! We are excited to share projects with you again for the third year. This year we are shaking things up and bringing you all new monthly themes to inspire your next project!
Once you are done with each post, scroll down to the bottom and you will see a list of Blog Hop participants, you can click on their name to go to their post, or you can click the next button to go to the next post in line. Happy crafting!  This month's theme is Gift Tags!
I am so happy that you are here.  I have made three gift tags for you.  All look very different, yet they, for the most part, use some of the same basic parts.  I love how Stampin' Up! products coordinate so well.  I also love how you can get any look you want!
Luv 2 Stamp Blog Hop October Tags Countryside Corners dies Jo Anne Hewins Luv 2 Create Hope You Know Metallics Embossing Powders Magic Meadow dies All 3 tags
All of these tags use the Countryside Corners dies for the basic shape.  The also use the Magical Meadows dies and the Hope You Know stamp set.  Let's look at each one.

Luv 2 Stamp Blog Hop October Tags Countryside Corners dies Jo Anne Hewins Luv 2 Create Hope You Know Metallics Embossing Powders Magic Meadow dies All About Autumn DSP Linen Thread Oxidized Specialty
This tag uses the Oxidized Copper Specialty Paper and the All About Autumn 6 x 6 Designer Series Papers.  There is also a layer of  Pretty Peacock that is embossed with the Distressed Tile 3D EF.  I used the 3rd, 4th, and 5th dies in from the Countryside Corners dies.  The plants are in the Oxidized gold paper, Lost Lagoon card stock with Copper Clay berries, and All About Autumn holly leaves.  These are made using the Magical Meadow dies.  The berries were cut with Adhesive Sheets behind.  Add a bow of Linen Thread.  The saying is from Hope You Know.  It is embossed in Copper from the Metallics Embossing Powders on Pretty Peacock.  Add Copper Clay Textured Ribbon tied with Linen Thread.

Luv 2 Stamp Blog Hop October Tags Countryside Corners dies Jo Anne Hewins Luv 2 Create Hope You Know Metallics Embossing Powders Magic Meadow dies Snowflake Magic Specialty Silver Foil Specialty Paper Florist dies
This tag uses the same dies from Countryside Corners.  The largest and smallest dies for this are from the Snowflake Magic Specialty Designer Series Paper.  The center is from the same pack.  The plants, from Magical Meadow dies,  are from the silver part of the Silver & Gold 12 x 12 Adhesive Backed Glimmer paper, Silver Foil Specialty Pack, and Cherry Cobbler.  Adhesive Sheets were used on the Cobbler.  The flowers are made using the Paper Florist dies.  The White Glittered Organdy ribbon is behind the saying and also the tie at the top of the tag.  The Hope You Know saying is embossed in Silver again from the Metallics Embossing Powders.

Luv 2 Stamp Blog Hop October Tags Countryside Corners dies Jo Anne Hewins Luv 2 Create Hope You Know Metallics Embossing Powders Magic Meadow dies Distressed Tile 3D EF

This tag is a more traditional one.  The largest layer is in Thick Very Vanilla.  The other layers for this one are both in Basic Very Vanilla.  The smallest is embossed with the Distressed Tile 3D EF.  There are dimensionals between the two larger layers.  The Magical Meadow dies are used for the plants.  Colors are Shaded Spruce, Old Olive, and Cherry Cobbler.  As for the other tags, I found it very helpful to use Adhesive Sheets behind the Cobbler berries.  The saying is stamped in Cherry Cobbler.  The Silver & White Sheer Ribbon was used for this tag.

Luv 2 Stamp Blog Hop October Tags Countryside Corners dies Jo Anne Hewins Luv 2 Create Hope You Know Metallics Embossing Powders Magic Meadow dies

I don't know which one you might like best.  I am not a glitzy person, so traditional is my choice.  We are all different so hopefully there is one you like.  I was thinking more of a thank you tag for a hostess, or for anyone deserving a thank you.  It's the season.
I'm really anxious to see all of the post on the October hop.  I don't make tags very often, so I need these ideas!  Please check out the samples for everyone!  I know it will be time well spent.
Thanks so much for taking a look today!

Crafting with You for a Birthday Card

Hello!  I must start with an apology.  I try so hard to be consistent in my posts.  Right now my aim is to publish every Monday and Thursday.  I missed all of last week.  I'm not sure anyone noticed, but I didn't post.  I had worked ahead before my cruise and scheduled my posts.  I didn't think I would return with Covid.  It just took the energy from me.  I think I'm back now and doing well.  Thank goodness it wasn't a bad case.

I was also late sending a birthday card to my daughter Jessie.  But she has her card now and I think it turned it pretty well.

Crafting with You Card Heartfelt Hexagon Sagan and Hazel Jessie birthday Jo Anne Hewins Luv 2 Create

I used the Crafting with You bundle from page 91 of the Stampin' Up! annual catalog.  Before I go on, I must give credit for this idea to my upline Patty Bennett.  She had featured cards using this idea with her father's watercolor painting.  You can find her post here.

I used pictures for the paintings.  Jessie is a high school art teacher, so you can see why she might like these.

My base is Orchid Oasis 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and folded at 4 1/4.   I chose this color because it matches Hazel's stuffed elephant Peanuts.  He's her constant companion.  I also like that Sagan is wearing her art shirt, very fitting.

Use the Deckled Rectangle dies for the next two layers.  Both are in Basic White.  I used the second and third largest dies.

Stamp on the smaller rectangle with the easel inked in Early Espresso.  For my purposes I only inked the bottom part of the stamp with the easel.  Stamp the part that goes over the bottom of the picture on a scrap and cut it out.

The picture is larger than the picture on the stamp.  It can really be any size.  I used the picture itself to determine where I would cut.  Add the picture with Seal.

Stamp the clips from the top of the easel stamp in Basic Gray again on scrap Basic White.  Stamp again.  Cut these out and add to the top of the picture.

Crafting with You Heartfelt Hexagon Sagan and Hazel Jessie birthday Close Up of Card Jo Anne Hewins Luv 2 Create

The basket is cut from the Crafting with You dies.  Use Pecan Pie card stock.  To make it curve out a little I put a dimensional in the center and glue dots at each end.

The shadows are made using Watercolor Pencils and a Blender Pen.  Use Pecan Pie.

Stamp the paint brushes in Early Espresso and color with Watercolor Pencils and the Blender Pen.  Cut out with the dies and Paper Snips.  Add to and behind the basket.

I used the same idea for the inside of the card.  I was thinking that Jessie could cut the card apart and display both parts.

Crafting with You Heartfelt Hexagon Sagan and Hazel Jessie birthday Jo Anne Hewins Luv 2 Create

For the inside, I left off the basket and added more paintbrushes.  Use the third largest Deckled Rectangle.

The saying for the card is from the Heartfelt Hexagon, a new release in time for the World Card Making Event recently.  The Happy Birthday is from the Inked & Tiled stamp set and page 95.

That's it.  It's a simple card, but I like it and so did Jessie!  In fact she said I love, love, love it!  Thanks so much for joining me today.  I do hope to be more consistent.  Hoping the Mojo returns!  See you Thursday!
