NC Demo Blog Hop for October A Little Something
October 29, 2023
Welcome! I'm so glad that you are here! You are in for a treat as you take the NC Demo October Blog Hop. The theme is A Little Something. We are heading into the holiday season! Parties, dinners and just getting together with friends and family. This is a perfect time for us to share some ideas for hostess gifts and/or party favors!
I admit this theme had me stumped. I just didn't have an idea. Some days are like that. Then I remembered that Stampin' Up! has already taken care of this. If you look on page 126 of the annual catalog, you'll find the Scalloped Gift Card Boxes #161751. You get 10 of these for $7. I decided to take advantage of this. These boxes fit together with no adhesive needed. There is a second piece for the gift card that fits inside. This you can adhere if you wish.
I had so much fun using the Merry & Bright Bundle for this card.
Our hostess will be so happy!
First of all, let me say that I took some inspiration from our September-December Mini catalog page 9. I love all the samples in our catalogs. They are a great starting point when you are stumped!
To decorate the box top, I started making my lightbulbs. Get some Vellum Cardstock and color one side of it with a Dark Melon Mambo Blend and another section with a Dark Granny Apple Green Blend. I cut out the bulbs from the other side but I'm not sure that that matters using the Merry & Bright dies. Cut out three of each color. For the top of the bulbs, use the Melon Mambo and Granny Apple Green 12 x 12 Foil Sheets. Again, you'll need 3 of each color. The filaments of the lightbulbs are cut out using a brand new product. It's part of the new Online Exclusives beginning for everyone on November 7th. It is Silver & Gold 12 x 12 Adhesive Backed Glimmer Paper. It was so easy to adhere these with the sticky already on the back!
Use the silver trim from the Simply Elegant Trim Pack. Make a knot and adhere with half of a rolled up glue dot. Thread the bulbs through the trim and position them. Add a glue dot behind the top of the bulb. You can also add a glue dot behind the filament. Secure the other end of the silver trim.
Color some of the Neutrals Adhesive Backed Sequins with the dark Melon Mambo and Granny Apple Green blends. For some reason I just couldn't stop adding these. They just might be a little overdone. I decided to add them on the scallops of the lid as well. What do you think?
Did you know that Stampin' Up! has 3 inch envelopes? They are on page 135 of the annual catalog #159233 called Basic White 3 x 3 Envelopes. You get 40 of them for $11. For the card cut a piece of Thick Basic white 2 7/8 x 6. Score and fold at 3. Add the bulbs you have already made. The words are from the Merry & Bright stamp set. Stamp in Melon Mambo or Granny Apple Green and cut around them. Add with dimensionals.
Cover the flap of the envelope with the Merry Bold & Bright Designer Series Paper. Use a piece cut to 3 1/4 x 1 3/4. Glue to the top of the flap and then trim away the extra from the back.
What hostess gift doesn't have chocolate??? Eight of the Hershey Nuggets will fit into the box. Cover with more of the designer paper. Cut the strips 1 x 3. To make adhering the paper a little easier, use your Bone Folder to curl the paper. then use Seal, or even better Seal + down the 3 inch part. Wrap around beginning on the bottom.
Here the box is filled with delicious chocolate. The gift card will still fit.
So there you go. You have a sweet little something with a sweet little card as well!
I so appreciate your time today. It's time to remember those who are important to you. Think of all the ways you could decorate the Scalloped Gift Card Boxes for every occasion!
I hope you take the time to visit everyone on the hop. You'll be glad you did. Next up is Tracie. She's the one that thinks up all of our great themes!
