Zany Zoo Wobble Card for Sagan
April 26, 2023
Hi! It's hard to believe that my granddaughter was 5 on April 25th. She'll be going to kindergarten this fall! Time sure does fly. We've had a couple celebrations and I'm going to share a card I have mailed to her using the new Zany Zoo Bundle and the Zoo Crew Designer Series Paper. It goes live on May 2nd when the 2023-2024 Annual Catalog goes live.
Isn't that just too cute! This card has several new items for you to see.
Here is a picture of the Zoo Crew Suite Collection. The designer papers have lots of animals doing the cutest things: ballet, birthday, music, home activities, outdoor activities, and stuff on wheels. The backside of the paper is in black and white. I used one of the cards on this page as an inspiration for my card today.
The base of the card is Thick Basic White measuring 4 1/4 x 11, scored and folded at 5 1/2.
Use a piece of Basic White cut to 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 and run it through the Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine with a new folder called Countryside Blossoms. This folder is part of the Countryside Inn Suite Collection. Glue this layer to the front of the card.
For the backstage of the card, cut the black and white paper to 2 x 2 3/4. Glue this piece to the center of the card. Mine might be a little more toward the top of the card to leave room for the words. Cut the curtains and scalloped piece from Pool Party cardstock. You can even cut curtain tiebacks with the Zany Zoo dies. Add the scalloped top. Trim as needed. The curtains do extend beyond the black and white paper, but why waste it? Add the tiebacks.
The tiger ballerina is cut using the dies. The pages of the designer paper feature lots of animals. The animals that are also in the stamp set will also cut the matching ones in the designer paper. The one on my card is cut from the designer paper.
I ordered the action wobbles from Amazon. Here is the link I used: https://www.amazon.com/Hampton-Art-Mini-Action-Wobbles/dp/B01GUG2CW6/ref=sr_1_2?crid=23B5825CZN115&keywords=wobbles+for+card+making&qid=1682449989&sprefix=wobbles+for+cards%2Caps%2C587&sr=8-2
Peel off the backing from one side of the wobble and add it to the cut out. Then peel the backing from the other side and put the cut out where you want it to appear on the card. It's so easy!
This pictures shows how the tiger is raised above the card. You can flick it to make movement.
Use the Sweetest Cherries stamp set for the saying. I took several of the sayings and put them together to say what I wanted. Since I cut the words apart that was simple to do. Use an embossing buddy over the paper before stamping. Stamp the sayings on Basic Black in Versamark. Use the Basic Embossing Powders to emboss in white. Use the Heat Tool to melt the powders. Cut out the words that you want and add with glue dots.
Fussy cut the lamb from the designer paper and add to the card inside. See how I used the notes from the set to make the saying a song!
So there you have it. I can't finish this post without a picture or two of Sagan.
And here is a picture of Sagan, her sister Hazel and Grammie!

Sagan's birthday card is ADORABLE! What a fun card to receive! And I love that it wobbles too! heehee! I think Sagan's sister is Hazel...might want to correct the names in the photo! :-) I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who doesn't always type/say what I am thinking! If I had to put a coin in a "wrong name jar" like a swear jar - I'd have enough money to buy tons more stamps! Bwaahaahaa!
