NC Blog Hop for April Featuring Online Exclusives
April 30, 2023
Welcome to the NC Blog Hop for April. Our hop focuses on the Online Exclusives this month. These items are found in our online store. They are while supplies last. Some will stay for awhile and be reordered. Some won't. New items can be added at any time. There will be times when a large group of items will be added. This is new for all of us, but I think online items will make the Stampin' Up! offerings even better!
I'm so glad that you are here with us. Be sure to visit everyone on the hop. I can't wait to see what each person has made.
I'll be using the Elegant Border dies. They certainly live up to the name. They make your cards look so elegant!
I've also used the Cheerful Daisies bundle from the 2023-2024 annual catalog beginning on May 2nd.
The base of this card is Berry Burst. It's a returning color from several years back. It's part of Stampin' Up!'s color refresh. Cut this base to 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and fold at 4 1/4. Line up the die from the Elegant Borders dies along the bottom of the front. First you need to notice that one border of the die has a cutting ridge along the edge. The other does not. Make sure that ridge is along the bottom. Ask me why I think that's important. You want to make sure that your design is even on each end. Measure the distance between each edge and the die. They should be the same on each end. Then put a little post-it note or washi tape to hold it in place as you run it through the Cut & Emboss Machine.
Here's a picture with the card standing without the paper behind it showing.
I did glue a piece of paper from the Beautiful & Bright 6 x 6 Designer Series Paper behind the design. That paper measures 2 x 5 1/2. More on the inside later.
The Cheerful Daisies bundle is so cute! Stamp off the largest outline daisy in Berry Burst on a another piece of the diagonal stripe from the Beautiful & Bright paper. Cut with the dies. The center of the flower, leaves, and stem are all cut from paper from the same stack in a Lemon-Lime Twist color. The leaves are part of a much larger die, but just place the part you want near the edge of the paper. The center is stamped off Lemon-Lime Twist.
The saying is from the Cheerful Daisies, stamped in Berry Burst. This panel is cut from the coordinating dies. Add the saying to the side of the flower. I just used some glue dots. Add the flower and saying on dimensionals. The center is on another dimensional. Place the leaves and stem behind the saying and flower as you wish.
Add a Linen Thread bow just under the center of the flower. Don't forget to embellish with some of the Brushed Brass Butterflies. I'm so happy these carried over to the new catalog. They mail so well!
For the inside of the card, add a piece of Basic White that measures 2 1/8 x 5 1/2. Stamp the smaller daisy on the back side of the diagonal stripe paper. Stamp off your stamp first. Cut this from the dies and cut a smaller center Pansy Patch stamp set.
You have to admit that this border is beautiful. It's only one of four and they are all beautiful! Go to the online store and check these out. My link is below. But first don't forget to finish the hop! Great ideas are on the way!
