Updated Links for the Last Chance Lists, Color Video

Yesterday was the 48th anniversay for John and I.  I've taken a little time but will hopefully have more samples for you beginning Wednesday of next week.  I've been so fortunate to have John in my life.  He is the best!

Here are some large print, easier to understand links for the Last Chance Lists.  Remember that discounted prices begin April 4th.  All items are while supplies last.

Last Chance Items and More!

Last Chance Lists are out for the 2022-2023 Annual Catalog and the January-April Mini.

Last Chance up to 60% offThis is an exciting time!   We have colors that are retiring May 1. These colors will probably disappear quickly. If there are colors you can't live without order as soon as possible. Card stock, markers, blends, ribbon, embellishments, pads and inkers for these colors will sell. The colors are Merry Merlot, Soft Suede, Sahara Sand, Rich Razzleberry, Blushing Bride, So Saffron, Pear Pizzazz, Mint Macaron, Mango Melody, Bermuda Bay, Pacific Point, Polished Pink, Pale Papaya, Evening Evergreen, Soft Succulent. I included the outgoing In Colors as well. Order here.

This list is extremely long. The reason for a lot of this is the color change. These colors pad, inkers, card stock, ribbons, embellishments, blends, markers, will all retire. There again are some discounts that won't go into effect until April 4th. Again, items are all while supplies last. The style of the Stampin' Write Markers is changing so all of those should retire. I also want to point out that the Stamparatus is retiring along with anything that supports the Stamparatus. If this is a purchase you planned for the future, I would not wait.   If you have questions, please let me know.

Mini Catalog

These lists can be confusing when they list bundles as going away. Sometimes it's just the chance to purchase stamp sets and dies together with the 10% discount. The stamp set and dies could carry over separately to the new annual catalog. If the whole thing is retiring, the stamp set and the dies will be listed in addition to the bundle. There are sale prices for some items. Sometimes it is cheaper to buy the items separately rather than to buy the bundle. Sale prices are not in effect until April 4th. By that time some items could be sold out. Retiring items are while supplies last.

NC Blog Hop for March 2023 Accessories Make Every Project Better!

Accessories

Welcome to the NC Demo Blog Hop for March.  As you know we are coming to the end of the January-April Mini and the 2022-2023 Annual Catalog.  The Last Chance List for both will be out on March 29th.  There's just one more month for both.  It's an in between time for all of us.  Who knows, as we prepare, what is staying and what is going.  So, we are focusing on our designer papers and embellishments.  We are hoping that you can use some of our ideas and apply them with some of the new stuff that's coming.  Oh, I can't wait for new stuff!!!  How about you!

I'm using the By the Bay Designer Series Paper with my card.  It's so pretty.  I've made several projects and used this paper in a class.  I have lots of scraps and decided to use them.  You might be in the same boat.  My base is Thick Basic White 4 1/4 x 11, scored and folded at 5 1/2.  I cut the scraps into 3/4 inch wide strips.  Some are cut to 3 3/4 and some to 4 1/8 inch lengths.  Just start at the left and add the strips one at a time.  I used our Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  I like to lean the strips and overlap them a little.  I used 8 of them.  I tried to use several with gold for a kind of theme.

The saying is from the Dainty Delight stamp set.  Stamp on a piece of Night of Navy scrap with Versamark and emboss with gold.  The gold embossing powder is part of the Metallics Embossing Powders pack.  Cut this out with the smallest rectangle from the Deckled dies.  I also cut a banner from the Stylish Shapes dies using the Distressed Gold Specialty Paper.  Cut the banner in half and glue the ends so that they stick out from each end.  Add the banner with dimensionals in the center of the card.

This banner with all of the added parts is an embellishment.  I cut up some of the shells from another piece of the designer paper to decorate it even more.  It dresses up a plain card.

Ribbon is also an embellishment.  I used the Night of Navy Bordered Ribbon to tie around the card and into a knot.  I just happened to have a bow tied with the gold twine from the Elegant Trim in the Annual Catalog.  I decided to add it just under the knot of the navy ribbon.  I used a glue dot.

My last embellishment was to add some of the Pastel Adhesive-Backed Sequins from the Mini.

I'm loving this card!

Here is the inside of my card.  I used another strip of designer paper and cut some more shells.  The saying is from the Spring Blessings stamp set.  I embossed the saying, but it did not turn out well.  I used this mistake for another way to embellish the inside.  I embossed it on Night of Navy and it out with the banner from Stylish Shapes dies again.

Thanks so much for joining me today, but I encourage to visit everyone on the hop.  You'll be missing out if you don't.  North Carolina has some serious talent!

I mentioned that the Last Chance Lists will come out for the January-April Mini and for the 2022-2023 Annual Catalog on the 29th of March.  Let me remind you that there will be a color refresh with the next annual catalog.  Retiring colors and items may go quickly.  There will be some discounts beginning on April 4th.  Some of the items discounted may be gone before April 4th.  Just a warning:  Retiring items are While Supplies Last.  That means when they are gone, they really are gone.  If there are some colors that you feel you can't live without, get them NOW!  We don't know what will retire.  I feel sure retiring colors will go fast!  Don't forget cardstock, ink pads, Blends, Stampin' Write Markers, embellishments, ribbon, and your favorite designer series papers with the colors you love!

As an aside, SU demonstrators can see the new annual catalog online only beginning March 29th!

Shaded Summer with the Fancy Flora Designer Series Paper

Hello to you today!  I'm using the Shaded Summer stamp set and the Summer Shadows dies for the flowers on this card.  We'll also be using the Stitched Rectangles dies and the Fancy Flora Designer Series Paper.

Shaded Summer Card Summer Shadows dies Fancy Flora DSP Stitched Rectangle dies Stylish Shapes dies Blending Brushes Jo Anne Hewins Luv 2 Create

My card base is Thick Basic White cut to 4 1/4 x 11, scored and folded at 5 1/2.

I found a piece of the Fancy Flora paper that had a more subdued print on the back.  Cut your piece to 4 1/4 x 5 1/2.  This is the same size as the card front.  Turn your paper to the subdued side and cut the 4th panel in from the Stitched Rectangle dies.  Cut from the center of the paper.  This puts the nice stitching on your panel.  If you look closely at my sample, I cut mine from the busy side.  The stitching is a bit different and not quite as pretty.  Now cut a piece of Mint Macaron cardstock using the 3rd rectangle in from the dies.

Glue the outside busy paper to the front of your card.  That leaves a big hole but don't worry.  It will be covered.  Glue the subdued small rectangle to the center of the macaron cardstock.  Put dimensionals on the back and adhere this panel over the hole to the center of the card front.

I chose to use Calypso Coral and Blushing Bride for my flowers.  Blushing Bride was not quite the color I needed.  I used the Calypso Coral pad and a Blending Brush to take care of that.  Cut a solid flower and bud from Calypso Coral cardstock.  Cut the detailed flower and bud from Blushing Bride.  Now cut three of the leaves from Mint Macaron.

Let me insert a note here please.  I don't know why I didn't think to look at Petal Pink.  It has the perfect tone for the Fancy Flora DSP.  Frankly though, I would probably still use my Blending Brush and Calpso Coral ink with it.

Use a Blending Brush to add color to the detailed parts of the paper.  This matches that color to the designer paper.  Crush the layers in your fist and adhere the parts.  Add the flowers with dimensionals.  I did end up making another layer of the detailed flower for the full flower.  Do not align the layers.

Add Mint Macaron color to the leaves with a Blending Brush.  This will make the leaves show up a little better.

The saying is from the Shaded Summer stamp set.  Stamp in Calypso Coral on Basic White.  Cut out with the Stylish Shapes dies.  Add a dimensional under the end on the left and glue the rest.

Add the leaves around the flowers.

There you go!  I love this card!  Thanks for joining me today.  I appreciate that you spent time with me.  I hope you'll try this lay out.  I did have a card on here with my last post that has this lay out.  It is so different though from this one.  Just scroll down to the last post!

Good Feelings By the Bay

I have a somewhat simple card for you today.  It all starts with a piece of the By the Bay Designer Series Paper.  I'm using the paper that has the whitewashed wood on one side.  Here's my card.

By the bay Card Deckled Dies Linen Thread Pastel Adhesive Backed Sequins Distressed Gold DSP Good Feelings Jo Anne Hewins Luv 2 Create

The base of this card is Thick Basic White 4 1/4 x 11, score and fold at 5 1/2.  Cut the By the Bay paper to 4 1/4 x 5 1/2.  Cut the paper so that the woodgrain will be up and down.

Turn the paper to the wood side and cut with the 3rd largest rectangle from the Deckled Dies.

Cut a rectangle from Distressed Gold  Specialty paper using the 2nd largest Deckled Dies.

Use the Stamparatus and set it up for the large sentiment from the Good Feelings stamp set.  Use an Embossing Buddy over the surface of the paper.  Stamp with Versamark ink, cover with gold embossing powder from the Metallics Embossing Powder pack.  Melt with our Heat Tool.

By the bay Deckled Dies Linen Thread Pastel Adhesive Backed Sequins Distressed Gold DSP Card Close Up Jo Anne Hewins Luv 2 Create

To assemble, glue the outside frame of designer paper to the base of the card.  Glue so that the sea creatures are visable.

Glue the wood paper to the center of the Distressed Gold paper.  Add dimensionals to the back.  This would also be a great place to use the Foam Adhesive Sheets.  Adhere this layer.  It will completely cover the hole left there.

Add a Linen Bow.  For this I used half of a glue dot and rolled it.

Embellish the card with Pastel Adhesive-Backed Sequins.

By the bay Card Deckled Dies Linen Thread Pastel Adhesive Backed Sequins Distressed Gold DSP Inside of Card Jo Anne Hewins Luv 2 Create

Finish the inside of the card with some of the left over designer paper.  I used strips of 3/4 wide and 1/2 inch wide.

I told you it was simple!  Now, think of all the designer papers you could use to copy this layout.  It boggles the mind!  Visit my online store!
