Nature's Harvest Quick Card

Hope & Prayer with Texture Chic Designer Series Paper

I just recently got the stamp set Hope & Prayer.  It's on page 71 of the annual catalog.  This is a great set for a religious card.  I think it would be good for a sympathy card as well.

For this card I also used the Texture Chic Designer Series Paper.  I don't use gold very much, but I really do like how this card turned out.  I used a base of Thick Basic White 4 1/4 x 11.  Score at 5 1/2 and use a Bone Folder to burnish the fold.

Cut the DSP to 4 1/4 x 5 1/2.  Glue to the front of the card.  I like to use glue because it has a little give to it, but not for long.  This paper will cover the entire front of the card.  If you end up with a little white from the base showing, just trim it off.  Cut off any extra you might have with paper snips.  If you turn to the back and cut it seems easier for me.

For the saying stamp on Basic White with Versamark.  Before stamping use an Embossing Buddy over the surface to remove static.  SU does sell this item in the July-December Mini on page 49.  It's part of a kit called the Embossing Additions Tool Kit.  Use the Gold EP that's part of the Metallics Embossing Powders.  Our Heat Tool is used to melt the powder into beautiful gold.  At the same time stamp and emboss the dove.

Cut the saying out with the Stylish Shapes dies.  Cut the larger fatter banner at the same time using a different print from Texture Chic.  Fussy cut the dove with paper snips.

Cut the banner from the DSP in half.  To make the banner appear longer glue the banner parts on each side of the circle.  I used the lines on my Grid Paper to make sure the sides are straight.  You might even trace the sides of the banner on the back of the circle before you cut it.  Add to the card near the bottom of the card.  Use dimensionals or Foam Adhesive Sheets to add the circle and banner.  Did you know that you can cut the foam sheets with dies.  I cut the next smallest circle from the foam for this purpose using the Stylish Shapes.

The gold trim is from the Simply Elegant Trim from the annual catalog.  I put a glue dot right above the circle and looped the trim back and forth using the glue dot to hold it.  Use a dimensional and glue dots to add the dove.

Complete the card with some of the Champagne Rhinestone Basic Jewels.

Gold embossing is a technique that I don't use that often.  Every time, though, it's like magic.  Why don't I do that more???  I think I'll make a few more of these cards.  It's really pretty and it's not that hard to do.  Thanks for stopping by today.  I appreciate it!
