A Peaceful Deer Christmas Card
October 28, 2022
The Peaceful Deer stamp set and the Deer Builder Punch were carry overs from last year's holiday catalog. They are in the Annual Catalog for this year. I'm using these items to make our Christmas card for today. It's a bit of a fun fold.
It's a cute card. There are some steps involved, but it's really not such a hard card. Let's get started. The base is Thick Basic White 5 1/2 x 8 1/2, score and fold at 4 1/4. Cut off 1 1/2 inches from the front of the card. Use your Bone Folder to burnish the fold of the card.
Cut a piece of Basic White 2 1/2 x 5 1/4 and a piece of Starry Sky that is 1 3/4 x 5 1/4. Use the Wintry Embossing Folder. There are two folders in this group. We use the one with the snowflakes for both of our pieces. Glue the white piece on the front of the card and the Starry Sky piece inside the card to the right.
Cut squares for our card using Basic White and the Stylish Shapes dies. Cut one of the largest squares and one of the second largest squares. Stamp the snowflakes from the Peaceful Deer stamp set diagonally on the smaller square. You might need to stamp twice. Use Starry Sky ink.
Now stamp a deer on a piece of white in Starry Sky. Punch out with the Deer Builder Punch. Add dimensionals to the back of the deer and add to the smaller square. Add the smaller square to the larger with dimensionals.
Add the squares to the center of the card. Note that part of the squares will hang off the side of the front. Make sure to add adhesive carefully so you don't glue the card to itself. You'll only put glue on half . Make sure you put it on the correct side.
Stamp the Merry Christmas in Starry Sky and cut it out with the Stylish Shapes dies. Part of this label will also stick out over the front of the card so be careful when applying glue here as well. Add the label just under the squares.
Make a little bow using the Metallic Mesh Ribbon. I did use a bow tie tool for this purpose not sold by Stampin' Up! Just google and you'll be able to find these. Add the bow with a glue dot.
Finish up the project with some Basic Rhinestone Jewels. They complement the ribbon!
The inside is stamped with the Peaceful Deer stamp set.
I thank you for your kind attention. I do hope you'll try this card. I think it would be easy to change up this layout to feature anything in the center of the square. This could be used for any occasion!
