Perfect Pomegranate

Here's the card I've made today using this FREE set.

For this one I stamped my own designer paper on the front of the card.  Start with a base of Thick Basic White cut to 5 1/2 x 8 1/2.  Score and fold at 4 1/4.  Use a Bone Folder to burnish the fold.

To make my own decor on the front, I started at the top and worked my way down.  I knew that it would be hard to fit in the leaves if I stamped all of the flowers first.  I started with the flower in the upper left corner and stamped the leaves around it.  I used both the 2 leaf stamp and the 3 leaf stamp.  The flower is stamped in Calypso Coral and the leaves are stamped in Mossy Meadow.  Work your way down stamping flowers and then leaves.  I like to make some of my stamping go off the page.  It makes it all look more realistic.  Stamp the center of the flowers in Crushed Curry.

Now I hate to admit this, but I got some stray markings of Mossy Meadow on my card front.  Sometimes ink gets on the block and then on your paper.  I try to watch for this, but some got by me.  I used the Rustic Harvest Designer Series Paper to cover up my mistake.  You do know that mistakes are an opportunity to become creative, right!  I cut this strip of paper 1 1/2 x 4 1/4.  My mistake is actually behind the top of the circle.

Stamp the double pomegranate stamp in Calypso Coral ink, then rock the stamp in Merry Merlot ink to add some color around the pomegranate.  It might have been better to get a little more color, but I decided to leave it as is.  Add the cluster of leaves above the fruit in Mossy Meadow.  Add the seeds in Merry Merlot.  Center and cut this out with the 2nd largest circle from the Stylish Shapes dies.  Add this circle with dimensionals.

The saying is from the Cottage Rose stamp set.  Stamp in Merry Merlot.  Cut this out with the Stylish Shapes dies as well.  I added a couple pieces of Linen Thread to the back of the label and glued this to the circle.

Here is the inside of the card.  The saying is from Cottage Rose.  Then I stamped flowers and leaves down near the bottom and corner.

I must say that I love this card.  I don't have a lot of experience with pomegranates, but I do love stamping them!
