Welcome to the Luv 2 Stamp Group’s 2022 Blog Hop! We are excited to share projects with you again this year. We hope to inspire you to create beautiful new projects. Each month we will have a different theme based on the next month’s celebrations using Stampin’ Up! products.
Once you are done with each post, scroll down to the bottom and you will see a list of Blog Hop participants, you can click on their name to go to their post, or you can click the next button to go to the next post in line. Happy crafting! This month’s theme is Nature.
This is my first time taking part in this Luv 2 Stamp Blog Hop. I'm so happy to be here. For my card I chose to use the Rings of Nature bundle. This comes with the Rings of Nature stamp set and the Tree Rings Hybrid Embossing Folder. The hybrid allows both embossing and cutting. It's really neat! Here is my sample.
I was drawn to this bundle. I'm not sure why. We recently had to have a wonderful tree in our yard cut down. It was a Diadora Tree.
As I said it was a beautiful tree but it was leaning toward our home. It had to go. Here's a picture of my granddaughter Sagan standing on the trunk of the tree. We decided to keep the trunk.
By counting the rings of the stump, we found out that the tree is older than our home. Our home was built in 1968. Our son Jeff counted and found the year of his birth (80) and the year of our daughter Jessie's birth (84). It's all very interesting.
Well back to the card.
The base of the card is Pear Pizzazz. It is cut to 5 1/2 x 8 1/2. Score and fold at 4 1/4.
Open the card and send just the front through the Cut & Emboss Machine with the Trees Rings Embossing Folder. It really is pretty.
I used the embossing folder and the dies to cut and emboss the larger tree ring in Soft Suede and the smaller one in Crumb Cake. Glue the two together. I sponged the Crumb Cake one with Soft Suede ink and a sponge dauber. Be careful. I did get a little heavy handed. Just remember. You can't take the color away.
To dress up the area around my tree rings, I added some of the Old Olive stems using the Tree Rings dies. There are 2 different stems and 2 dies for each of them. I used 3 stems.
The other stems are cut using the Ranunculus dies. They are in Blackberry Bliss. I cut 4 of these but I trimmed one of them down a little.
The saying is from the Rings of Nature stamp set. I stamped in Versamark and heat embossed with white embossing powder. I cut it out with the Stylish Shapes dies. I made the cut out a little shorter by cutting once with the words to one side. Then slide the die to make it shorter. You can feel the die lock in on the sides with the card stock already cut. Run it through the machine again. Before adding the saying, add a little Seal under where it will be. Use that to add some of the Crumb Cake Twine from the Baker's Twine Essentials Pack.
Cut the acorn top in Soft Suede and bottom in Crumb Cake. I sponged on both pieces. Add with dimensionals.
Finally color some of the Basic Pearls with a Dark Blackberry Bliss Blend. Add to the card front.
For the inside of the card, the saying is from the Rings of Nature stamp set. I also stamped lots of the acorns using Soft Suede and Crumb Cake.
Thanks so much for joining me today. Be sure to continue of the hop. You'll see lots of great nature ideas!
