Hippest Hippos Z Fun Fold Card

I have a Z Fun Fold card for you today. What's even more fun is that this card uses the Sale-a-Bration free items Happiest Hippos stamp set and the Hippos dies. You can earn these with a $50 purchase. To get them both, you would need a $100 order (each needs a $50 order). Here's my cute card!

I love this paper with the hippos as well. This comes from the Awash in Beauty Designer Series Paper. My little hippo is going to dance right through the flowers. She might tiptoe through the tulips!

The base of this card is Blushing Bride. I don't know if you have ever noticed, but I don't use a lot of pink. It's not my favorite. This DSP gives me the opportunity to go pink. Elephants like pink you know. The base is 5 1/2 x 8 1/2. Score at 2 1/8 and 4 1/4. Fold the card in the center and then fold the next section back away from the center.

Cut a piece of Blushing Bride that is 1 x 8 1/2. Score this piece exactly the same. You will turn it over and use it backwards from the card.

The designer paper is cut one piece at 2 x 5 3/8. This goes on the folded back piece. The other is cut to 2 1/4 x 5 3/8. It goes on the inside of the card to the right.

Cut a piece of Basic White that is 1 7/8 x 5 3/8 for the rest of the inside.

For the Hippo cut the second largest circle from the Stylish Shapes dies in white and a coordinating scalloped circle from Blushing Bride. The scalloped circle is from the Layering Circles dies. Adhere done stamping and coloring the hippo. Stamp the hippo in Memento Black. I colored here using the Gray Granite Blends combo and the Flirty Flamingo Blends combo. I didn't go into any extra shading because more likely this card will go to a child.

I used the paper piecing technique for the skirt. Stamp that area on the designer paper, also from Awash in Beauty DSP. Cut it out with snips and then glue in place.

The umbrella from the Hippo dies was cut in Basic Black and then the top of the umbrella was cut from the same designer paper. Glue to the umbrella and glue to the white circle. Some of this does stick out beyond the circle so be careful where you put the glue.

Cut the plants from Old Olive card stock and the flowers from Flirty Flamingo. Hint: I put some Adhesive Sheet to the back of the card stock. Peel it off after cutting and you have stickers! Easy!

I am loving using the Hippest Hippo stamp set and the Hippo dies. Just remember that Sale-a-Bration items are while supplies last. If you want these I wouldn't wait to order them!
