Sweet Songbirds Bundle Pairs Well With Merry Melody EF

Hello, Hello!  I have a cute little card for you today using the Sweet Songbirds bundle.  It pairs perfectly with the Merry Melody Embossing Folder.

Isn't it cute!  My base is Thick Basic White 5 1/2 x 8 1/2, scored and folded at 4 1/4.  Run the front of the card through the Cut & Emboss Machine with the Merry Melody Embossing Folder.

Have you noticed the Stylish Shapes dies in the new annual catalog?  They aren't paired with a particular stamp set, so you might miss them.  It's on page 175.  It has wonderful circles, squares, and dies for sayings.  I'm using these dies are the squares on the front of the card.

The Crumb Cake square is the largest square and the Pool Party square is the second largest.  Go ahead and adhere the two to each other.

Stamp the branch and the nest on Crumb Cake card stock using Early Espresso.  Cut them out with paper snips.  Run the nest through the Cut & Emboss Machine with the Textured Paint Embossing Folder.

Add the branch near the bottom of the Pool Party square.  Punch out the largest bough 4 times with the Bough Punch from Parakeet Party.  Place two of them near the branch in opposite directions.  You can see where the others are placed.

Punch the bird from Pale Papaya card stock.  Note:  You might want to make 2 birds.  There is one inside.  I do have them facing in opposite directions.  Punch the two wings from Calypso Coral.  Stamp eyes on the birds.  Add the wings and the beak.  I punched the beak from Daffodil Delight, but I think Calypso Coral would look better after some thought.  Add the bird so that it looks like it is sitting in the nest.  Secure the two together and then glue them to the squares.

Run some Linen Thread around the squares twice and tie a bow.

Add the squares to the card front with dimensionals.

Stamp the saying from Sweet Songbirds on a 1/2 inch piece of Basic White.  Stamp in Early Espresso.  Notch the ends.  I curled the saying a little using my Bone Folder.  Add with glue dots on each end of the saying.  So cute!

Here is my inside of the card.  The saying is from Sweet Songbirds.  Add some of the music notes and the bird feet with Early Espresso ink.  The green piece is punched with the Bough Punch.
