If you are a paper crafter, you have scraps. It's hard to know what to keep and what to throw away. I've been accused of keeping those too small papers and it's true. Today we are going to talk about using our scraps to make beautiful cards. If this topic interests you, I also had a post about scraps on Friday. It has a Facebook Live with it. Find it here. I also have a video for you today. Here are the cards we are going to make.
I'm going to go ahead and post the video now and then I'll take each card and tell measurements and details.
Here is the first card.
This card has a base of Evening Evergreen 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and folded on 4 1/4. The Basic White layer measures 3 3/4 x 5. Run it through the Tasteful Textile Embossing Folder to add some interests.
Cut a piece of the Foam Adhesive Sheets that measures 2 1/4 x 3 5/8 and add to the white layer. Add 1/2 x 3 1/2 of Evening Evergreen, Soft Sea Foam, and Soft Succulent. Trim if any extends over the white layer.
The sentiment is on a piece of Basic White that measures 1 1/2 x 3 3/4. Stamp the sayings from Ornate Thanks in Evening Evergreen. Glue to the card.
Add Evening Evergreen Ribbon around this layer and tie in a knot in the front.
Add 2021-2023 In Color Jewels.
Add the layer to the base.
The next card has a base of Thick Basic White. Draw a line with pencil about 3/4 inches down from the top. Use this to place the banners.
Use the Cute Halloween 6 x 6 Designer Series Paper. Each strip is 1 inch wide. Cut the lengths at 2 1/2, 2 3/4, and 3. Use the Banners Pick a Punch make the strips into banners. Glue the banners across the card varying the lengths. Trim any excess paper away.
Tie the Black and White Gingham Ribbon around the card and tie into a bow.
The saying is from the Cutest Halloween stamp set. Stamp in Memento Black. Cut apart the saying and glue. Use the Halloween Punch to punch out the jack-0-'lantern from the Cute Halloween DSP. The Cutest Halloween bundle includes the stamp set and punch for a 10% discount.
This card is a fun fold. The backing is Thick Basic White that measures 4 1/4 x 5 1/2. The card part is also Thick Basic White. It measures 2 1/2 x 11, score and fold at 5 1/2.
Use the Harvest Meadow Designer Series Paper for this card.
The scraps for the side are 5 3/8 long and wide enough to hide under the card that you'll attach.
For the front of the small card, cover first with Adhesive Sheets. My strips for the front were 1 1/4 x 3. Cut them at the diagonal. Pay attention to directionality if needed. Add the strips and trim around if needed.
The tags are cut using the Tailor Made Tags dies. The saying, stamped in Misty Moonlight, is from the Inspired Thoughts stamp set.
Tie a bow of Linen Thread and add to the hole in the tags with a glue dot.
Glue the card to the base.
I hope you found this post helpful and that you are off to use your scraps. I would love to see what you make.
