Welcome to the Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challege #685. We have a sketch for today.
I love the challenge of a sketch. I knew as soon as I saw it that the Be Jolly stamp set would be perfect.
Start with a card base of Real Red. It's cut to 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and folded at 4 1/4.
I'm using the Heartwarming Hugs Designer Series Paper. Add a piece of the diagonal print that measures 3 1/2 x 4 3/4. I used the Mossy Meadow dots paper for the stripes on the card. Cut 1/4 inches wide. Just make sure each is long enough. Glue the first one at a diagonal on the base, and then add the other 2 strips spacing them evenly. Turn the card over and cut off any extra paper.
The label is cut from Basic White using the Seasonal Labels dies. Trim off the very top of the label, but leave enough to add the sentiment. The saying is from Be Jolly. Stamp in Real Red on a 1/2 inch scrap. Glue to the top of the label. Add to the card with dimensionals.
Stamp the Santa in Memento Black on Basic White. Color with Blends. I used the Ivory, Light Petal Pink, Real Red Combo, and Smoky Slate Combo. I added some Light Smoky Slate to the lines on the beard and then used the Color Lifter to soften the color. Fussy cut the Santa and add him with dimensionals.
Embellish with some of the Wonderful Gems.
The inside is all from Be Jolly. Stamp a different Santa inside and color with Blends.
Isn't this card cute! I love how it turned out. It's one of those that came out on paper just the way I saw it in my head.
