Welcome to the One Stamp at a Time Blog Hop for July. Our theme is Christmas in July. I'm so glad you are here!
Stampin' Up! has a fabulous July-December Mini Catalog coming to you on August 3rd. I have an order coming with some great new products. I don't have them for this hop. My card and 3D item use products from our Annual Catalog.
I'm using the Tidings of Christmas Designer Series Paper for this card. You can find this 6 x 6 paper in the Annual Stampin' Up! catalog.
Start with a base of Thick Basic White that is 5 1/2 x 8 1/2, score and fold at 4 1/4. Cover the entire front with designer paper measuring 4 1/4 x 5 1/2. I used the Evening Evergreen herringbone look.
Add a strip of Soft Succulent DSP cut to 1 1/2 x 4 1/4.
Pull out the Tailor Made Tags dies and cut 2 of them from different patterns of the same paper pack. I used the largest size die for this.
Cut another tag from Basic White using the 2nd largest tag. Use the Banner Year stamp set that was carried over into the Annual Catalog. I embossed the saying in gold using my Versamark pad, Metallics Embossing Powders, and my Heat Tool. Stamp holly leaves and berries using Soft Succulent and Cherry Cobbler pads. Cut a circle re-enforcer from the gold paper from the Gold & Rose Gold 6 x 6 Metallic Specialty Paper and add. Add the tags and tie with the gold trim from the Simply Elegant Trim.
Cut about 4 of the stems from the Poinsettia dies using the same gold paper. Cut these stems apart and add to the card where you think they are needed. Reserve one of the stems for the 3D item.
Of course you want to add designer paper to the flap of your envelope. Just glue a piece of paper just a little larger than the flap and trim around to fit.
Here is my coordinating 3D item. It's a small gift bag perfect for candy, sanitizer, lotion, or whatever you can find. Make this holder from a piece of 6 x 6 patterned paper from the Tidings of Christmas Designer Series Paper. Score the paper at 1 3/8 intervals across. Turn the paper one quarter turn and score at 1 3/8. Use the Bone Folder to burnish the folds. On the end where you made only one score trim up on the folds to the score line. Cut off the tiny little section that's left. You might want to angle the cuts a tiny bit. Add Tear and Tape to the smallest area on the side with several score lines. It's above the same area that you trimmed off the tiny rectangle. Adhere the sides of the box. Now pull up the pieces for the bottom of the box.
Push in the sides of the box at the top and tie around using the gold trim from the Simply Elegant Trim. I tied into a knot to start. Be sure to fill your box before you tie it closed! Add in the gold stem. Cut the second smallest tag in the patterned paper and one from Basic White in the smallest size. The gold embossed saying is again from Banner Year. Stamp the holly leaves and berries on white scrap, fussy cut, and add to the tag. Add another gold re-enforcer. Finish tying your bow.
I love how my card and bag came together using some of our Annual Catalog supplies. Meanwhile I'm anxiously awaiting the UPS delivery of my July-December Mini catalog!
I can't wait to see what everyone else on the hop has created! Please continue on with the Christmas in July hop.
