CASE the Catalog page 157 Summer Shadows Dies

Welcome to the Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge. This week we continue to CASE the catalog. We are using the picture on page 157 of the Annual Catalog.

So for my card today, I'm using a few of the colors and a few of the lay out details for my card. Let's just say the sample was a great inspiration for me. Here is my card.

It all begins with a base of Petal Pink 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and scored at 4 1/4.

Emboss the vellum (4 1/8 x 5 3/8) with the Merry Melody Embossing Folder. Attach to the front of the card with Seal in the lower right corner where the layer will be added later. You might also reinforce with glue dots in places where there is more embossing.

The added layer is also Petal Pink. It measures 2 3/4 x 5. Emboss this layer with the Tasteful Textile Embossing Folder. Add with glue.

Use the Summer Shadows Dies to cut a basic and a detailed flower from Flirty Flamingo card stock. These dies are available for free with a $100 purchase during Sale-a-Bration August 3rd through September 30th or while supplies last. They coordinate with the Shaded Summer stamp set from the Annual catalog. Crush both of the flowers into your hand into a little ball. Pull back out and adhere the two in the center. These cut outs will align perfectly, but I glued mine just a little off. Cut a basic and a detailed leaf stem in Soft Succulent and adhere the two. Add the leaves and flower with dimensionals.

Stamp the saying from Shaded Summer in Versamark on Flirty Flamingo card stock. Emboss in white embossing powder from the Basics Embossing Powders with your Heat Tool. Trim. Add with dimensionals.

Here's the inside of the card. Stamp the saying from Shaded Summer. The image is stamped in Memento Black. Color with the Flirty Flamingo Combo Blends and the Soft Succulent Combo Blends.
