Very Versailles and a Color Challenge

Welcome to the Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge #662.  It's a color challenge using the colors Cajun Craze, Crushed Curry, and Soft Succulent.

I haven't used the Very Versailles stamp set in a long time and decided to pull it out.  This set is really a classic.  Here is my card.

The base of this card is Soft Succulent.  I love this color.  Of course I do.  Green is my signature color, I guess, since my house is painted mostly green.  This color is certainly succulent!  Cut it to 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and fold at 4 1/4.

The layer of Cajun Craze is cut to 3 7/8 x 5 1/8.

The next layer is Basic White measuring 3 3/4 x 5.  Here is where all the action takes place.

I started out stamping the words in the background using stamped off Cajun Craze ink.  I decided it needed softening so I pulled out my Blending Brush and began to add Cajun Craze ink.  Get a little of the extra ink off of the brush on scrap paper.  Start off the edge.  I hit mainly the corners.  Remember that you can always add more ink.  It's practically impossible to take it away.

Add the branches in Soft Succulent ink.

Run some of the Soft Succulent Ribbon around the white layer and attach with tape on the back.  Make a bow and set aside.

Use the Stitched So Sweetly dies to cut out the sentiment layer.  I actually stamped the image first in Crushed Curry and added the saying in Soft Succulent before I cut it out.  That way you can really center the image on the layer.  I felt the white was too stark and added a faint bit of Cajun Craze with leftover ink on my Blending Brush.

Add the later with dimensionals and the bow with glue dots.

Add a few of the green Genial Gems.  You'll have to have these gems!

For the inside stamp pretty much the same as the outside.  Placement is a little different.  The sentiment is part of the Very Versailles stamp set.
