Facebook Live for 4.21.2021 Bag and Card Featuring True Love Designer Series Paper

Hello!  For my Facebook Live this past Wednesday, I used the True Love Designer Series Paper.  I love designer paper, but I don't always use it.  I love black and white so I bought 2 packs of the True Love paper.  Since I haven't had in person classes until recently, I just haven't used my paper.  I bet some of you also have a lot of designer paper.  We'll make a tri-fold card and a bag today.

I have to give credit to Laurie Meier for showing this card fold to the NC Demo Facebook group.  It's a great card.

Cut the designer paper to 5 1/2 x 12.  Score at 4 and then turn and score at 4 on the other side.  Burnish with your Bone Folder.

Other products used for this card were the Stitched Shapes dies, Flowers of Friendship stamp set, Pool Party and Granny Apple Green ink.

For the bag I give credit to Pootles.  The designer paper for this measures 8 x 12.

On the long side score at 2, 5 3/4, 7 3/4, 11 1/2.  Now turn to the 8 inch side at the top and score at 2 inches.

Additional products used were the Color & Contours bundle, Simply Elegant Trim, and the Metallic Mesh Ribbon.

Here is the video.  I would ask you to subscribe to my YouTube channel and ring the bell if you would like to receive notifications when I have a new video.  Please share this video with your friends.

Thanks so much for joining me today.  I would love to be your demonstrator if you don't already have one.  Let me earn your business!

Another Quiet Meadow Sneak Peek Using the Meadow Dies

Welcome to the Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge #660.  Today we are using the colors Flirty Flamingo, Seaside Spray, and So Saffron.

CCMC660

If you haven't seen the new Stampin' Up! catalog, you should.  There are so many beautiful stamps, dies, bundles, ribbons, embellishments, and papers.  If you need one and you don't already have a demonstrator, let me know and I'll send you one.  Today I'm using the Quiet Meadow bundle and the Meadow dies.  Here are the stamp set and dies.

Quiet Meadow Set and Dies

These colors reminded me of a sunset and that's what I attempted to make.  I think it turned out quite well.

CCMC #660 Quiet Meadow by Jo Anne Hewins

Start with a base of So Saffron 4 1/4 x 11, score and fold at 5 1/2.

Take a piece of So Saffron cut to 4 1/8 x 5 3/8.  Use Blending Brushes to add color to this layer.  Begin with So Saffron, then add some of the Seaside Spray.  Finally add some of the Flirty Flamingo.  With each color start slow and build up the color to what you want.  You can always add more color.  Spritz this layer with water with one of our Spritzers and let it dry.  This will lift the color in places and add more interest to the card.

Using the Meadow dies, cut two of the flowers in Basic Black.  Your best bet is to use the Adhesive Sheets to back the black card stock.  That way you'll get great coverage for adding to the saffron paper.  Cut a butterfly as well.

Use the Scalloped Contours dies to cut out a section of this layer.  Use the third rectangle in.  This will cut through some of the black flower stems.

Add glue to the outside part of the layer and glue to the front of the card.

CCMC #660 Quiet Meadow Close Up by Jo Anne Hewins

Add black twine from the Baker's Twine Essentials Pack around the layer.  Now add Foam Adhesive Sheets to the back of the cut out.  Place it right back in the hole on the card front.

Stamp the word LOVE in Memento Black on Seaside Spray and cut out the tag using the Meadow dies.  Make a bow of the Black Twine.  Tie in the tag and add it all to the card with a rolled up glue dot.

Finish the front with some of the Matte Black Dots.  Add the butterfly where you want it.

CCMC #660 Quiet Meadow Inside by Jo Anne Hewins

Here's the inside of the card.  The saying is from Quiet Meadow.

Sneak Peek of the Quiet Meadow Bundle

The Quiet Meadow bundle packs a WOW that you might not see at first.

Quiet Meadow Set and Dies

The stamp set has a lot of stamps that lend themselves to making your own background.  I have focused more on the stamp set today.  There is a video that I made for the NC Demo Facebook group.  I do show some more samples of cards at the end of the video.  I'll add that a little later.  Here is my card.

Quiet Meadow Single Layer Card by Jo Anne Hewins

It's a pretty simple card with the only cut out being the label.

The card base is Crumb Cake measuring 5 1/2 x 8 1/2, score and fold at 4 1/4.

I stamped my own background for this card.  I started with the saying.  Stamp in Crumb Cake.  It doesn't really matter how you do this.  The stamp is not long enough to stamp across the whole card.  I started at the center and then stamped below and to the left, below and to the right, and then started all over again.

Next I added the dots.  Again I stamped in Crumb Cake wherever I wanted.  Rotate the stamp so that you get different effects with the dots.

I took the single flower next and stamped here and there over the card front again using Crumb Cake.

Now stamp the flower grouping on the card front two times with Memento Black ink.

Quiet Meadow Single Layer Close Up by Jo Anne Hewins

Use watercolor pencils to color the flower.  I used the White and the Daffodil Delight from our first set of watercolor  pencils.  I also used Granny Apple Green from the Assortment 2.  For the white I did have to press down quite a bit.  On my video I used a spongy piece under my grid paper.  I suggest that you color on a hard surface.

Color all the white and then add the yellow centers.  Finish with the green.

Add a length of the Bumblebee Gingham Ribbon.  I just added Seal to the back of the ribbon.

Stamp the saying from Quiet Meadow on a piece of Basic White in Early Espresso.  Add with dimensionals.  I used some thin strips I cut from the Foam Adhesive Sheets on mine.

Add a bow of Linen Thread OR you could use the Crumb Cake twine from the new Baker's Twine Essentials Pack.  Check out the video.

Add a few embellishments by stamping the largest of the small flowers in Memento Black.  Color with the colored pencils.

Quiet Meadow Single Layer Card Inside by Jo Anne Hewins

For the inside, the saying is from Quiet Meadow.  Stamp in Early Espresso.  Decorate the bottom of the inside using the same techniques shown on the front.

Here's the video from my Facebook Live for the NC Demo Facebook Group.
