Color Fusers Blog Hop for April 2021
April 05, 2021
Welcome to our Color Fusers Blog Hop for April. Our colors this month are Seaside Spray, Old Olive, and Real Red. I'm so happy that you have joined us. You'll see some great ideas using these colors.
I had a tough time coming up with a card for our challenge this month. I don't know why. The colors are so pretty together. I finally settled on using the True Love Designer Series Paper. This black and white paper lends itself to coloring. So out came the blends. Here's my card.
My card base is Thick Basic White that is cut to 5 1/2 x 8 1/2. Score and fold at 4 1/4.
Cut a piece of the True Love DSP to 4 1/4 x 5 1/2. Color with the blend combos of Seaside Spray, Real Red, and Old Olive. I also used the Color Lifter on some of the petals of the flowers.
I glued the designer paper to the card front. Then I decided that it needed something more. I used the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder to add more texture. It might be easier to run the paper through the embossing folder before gluing it. It's up to what you think is easier. This folder will be retiring soon. The True Love DSP will be retiring too.
The saying is from the Ornate Thanks stamp set. Stamp on a piece of 7/8 x 3 3/8 Seaside Spray card stock. This was a piece I had in my scraps. Line up the sentiment on the Stamparatus. Stamp first in Seaside Spray. Clean the stamp and stamp again in Versamark. I did reink and stamp again to make sure I had good coverage. Sprinkle on Clear Emboss Powder and heat with the Heat Tool. Back up the sentiment on a piece of Silver Foil that measures 1 1/8 x 3 5/8.
Use about a 7" piece of the Seaside Spray Metallic ribbon and loop it and adhere behind the saying with a glue dot. Add the saying to the card with dimensionals.
Finish the front with Frosted & Clear Epoxy Droplets.
Thinking I was done, I started thinking it just might need a little more. I cut a butterfly from Silver Foil using the Brilliant Wings dies. I couldn't decide whether to use it or not. What do you think? Which do you like best?
For the inside of the card, I lined the sayings from Ornate Thanks up on the Stamparatus. The long saying is a little difficult for me to get straight. With my grid paper, I can make sure all is straight. Of course I can also stamp again if needed.
Color a 3/4 x 4 1/4 piece of the True Love DSP and adhere along the bottom.
It did take me a while to color the paper. I wish I could say mine is perfect, but it isn't. It is pretty!
Thanks for joining me today. I hope you'll continue on the hop. You are sure is see some beautiful cards!

Hi Joanne, You have totally outdone yourself with the coloring on this card! It is absolutely gorgeous! I prefer it without the butterfly, but it's really pretty either way. I love that you use stamp sets (Ornate) that are not currently "in". Best wishes for a happy summer! -- Angie

Thanks so much for taking the time to make a comment. I'm so glad you liked my card. To tell the truth I like it better without the butterfly. I don't really feel that confident with my blend coloring. Maybe I'm getting better! Thanks again.
