Pansy Patch Sneak Peek!

Welcome to the Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge #661.  We have a sketch for today.

CCMC661

This is a perfect sketch to showcase the Pansy Patch bundle with the Pansy dies and the Pansy Petals Designer Series Paper.  This may look difficult, but it's not!  I cut the flowers from the designer paper.

CCMC #661 Pansy Petals by Jo Anne Hewins

Isn't it cute!  The base of the card is Thick Basic White cut to 4 1/4 x 11.  Score and fold at 5 1/2.  Use your Bone Folder to burnish the fold.

Cut the Pansy Petals paper to cover the entire surface of the front of the card.  That means that you'll cut it to 4 1/4 x 5 1/2.  Glue down this layer with the Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  Now add another strip of designer paper that is 1 3/4 x about 6.  This goes from corner to corner.  After you have glued this layer down, turn the card over and simply trim to fit.

CCMC #661 Pansy Petals Close Up by Jo Anne Hewins

It might be hard to see, but there is a layer for the flowers.  This is cut from Basic White using the Stitched So Sweetly dies.  I'm so glad these dies have carried over to the new catalog!  Add this layer with dimensionals.

Did you know that the Pansy dies fit perfectly around the flowers from the designer paper.  Use the sheet that has the larger and smaller flowers.  You can cut out all of these flowers!!!  The dies also fit and all the leaves on the leaf sheet.  Hint:  Do you see the purple flower on the top left.  I cut this flower from the bottom of the designer paper.  It was not a full flower, but I covered that part with more flowers.  If you work around, I think you could use a lot of those flowers along the sides, the top and the bottom.  Plan ahead!

The saying is stamped on a 1/2 inch strip of Evening Evergreen card stock in Versamark.  Emboss with White Emboss Powder.  Angle the ends.  I added the saying with glue in the middle and dimensionals on the ends.

CCMC #661 Pansy Petals Inside of Card by Jo Anne Hewins

The inside of the card has a saying from the Pansy Patch stamp set.  Add another flower and leaf at the bottom.

My Craft Room Tour

For years I've been saving for cabinets in my craft room.  Last fall I began the transformation.  I love how everything came together.  I had a video for you.  Mind you, I put this off because I was afraid I couldn't do it.  It is far from perfect but hopefully you'll get the idea.  Here are a few pictures of my craft room.  The room is 13 x 15 1/2 feet.  I'm going to put a before picture and then the now.

IMG_20200805_180926082_MP (1)

IMG_20201210_141202495_MP

I had the closet taken out on this wall.  This allowed me to have a desk behind my table.  I still have my table in the center of the room and I work mostly from there.  It faces my TV.  Now I can just turn around and I have pads, inks, markers, blends, stamp set, designer paper, and card stock all within reach!  I am in love!  My file drawers with card stock and designer paper are my favorites!

IMG_20201210_141300759

I'm still trying to refine this area, but I still have a place to take pictures, my Cut & Emboss machine, and cutting for classes.  My small Cut & Emboss machine is on my table.  I don't think I showed my table.  It's usually a big mess.

IMG_20201129_174425039

My table faces this wall.  Of course I have to have my TV.

On the fourth wall I have a row of upper cabinets that are place along the wall down low.

Here is the video and I apologize if it gets shaky or not quite where it needs to be.  I did my best.

Before I had a lot of bookcases around my room.  I could see all of my junk.  It's so much more peaceful for me to see my beautiful cabinets.

For my 12 x 12 paper these are the plastic sleeves that hold my paper.  Go here.

For the hanging folders for the 12 x 12 paper, I used files from Stamp-n-Storage.  They are very strong.  Find them here.

Also from Stamp-n-Storage, I used the Combo Holder for my ink pads, markers, and ink refills.  Find it here.

Find the Blends Holder here.  It's also from Stamp-n-Storage.  I have 2.

The rods for the punches came from Ikea.  I haven't been to Ikea in over a year.  I looked on the site and this looks like it.  I do not know if they are the same.

I think that does it.  It's perfect for me.  I hope you like it too.

Place your layer piece to the base using liquid glue or adhesive of your choice.

Cut out 5 ties using the die from the Suit and Tie Dies. Place the end of each tie into the Detailed Trio Punch to round the ends. There will be to little edges that need to cut off using your snips.

Using the Early Espresso watercolor pencil color a “dirt line on each bat handle and down the length of the bats.

Cut out two baseballs using the smallest circle from the layering circle dies and Basic white cardstock.

Use one circle to trace the half circles onto the ball. Trace using the real red watercolor pencil. Add dirt to the ball in the same way you did to the bats.

NC Demo Blog Hop for April, 2021 Pleased as Punch!

I love a punch!  Don't you?  Welcome to the NC Demo Blog Hop for April where we are Pleased as Punch to have you here.

Join us blog
You might have just come from Amy's blog or maybe you are just beginning here.  We are so glad to have you.  Be sure to visit everyone on the hop.  I can't wait to visit myself and see all the ideas.

I'm actually using two of the new punches in our upcoming catalog, the Elegant Tag punch and the Flowers & Leaves punch.  Why not put them together in one card!

NC Blog Hop Pleased as Punch by Jo Anne Hewins

I'm using some of our new In Colors as well.

The base of the card is Evening Evergreen that measures 5 1/2 x 8 1/2.  Score and fold at 4 1/4.  Stamp the large flower stem from the Flowers of Friendship stamp set around the outside of the card front in Evening Evergreen.

The next layer is Polished Pink.  It is cut to 3 1/2 x 4 3/4.  The Basic White layer is 3 3/8 x 4 5/8.  Use the Tasteful Textile Embossing Folder with this layer.  Adhere these layers to the center of the card.  HINT:  You can punch out the flowers from the center of this layer.  I got two punches out of it.  No one will ever know!  That's using the Flowers & Leaves punch.

Using the Elegant Tag punch, punch out 4 from the Soft Succulent card stock.  Emboss all of these with the Tasteful Textile EF.  Space all of these out on the card front and glue them on.  They will extend a little past the layers already placed.  That's fine.

NC Blog Hop Pleased as Punch Close Up by Jo Anne Hewins

Now, you need to make 4 flowers.  In total, you will need 8 of the largest flower and 4 of the smaller flower.  These are all from Polished Pink.  Sponge around the petals with a sponge dauber and the pink ink.  Curl up the petals with you Bone Folder.  You will also need 12 of the largest leaves.

Assemble the flowers.  Each layer of petals is placed a little askew from the layer below.

The centers of the flowers come from the Pansy dies.  The die I used will cut 3 center pieces at a time.  Each flower uses all three.

Glue a flower in the center of each tag.

The saying is from the Pansy Patch stamp set.  Stamp in Polished Pink on a 1/2 inch strip of Basic White.  Notch the ends.  Add this in the center of the card on dimensionals.  Pull out any leaves so they are on top of the saying, but not covering any words.

NC Blog Hop Pleased as Punch Inside by Jo Anne Hewins

Here is the inside of the card.  The saying is again from Pansy Patch.  Stamp 2 Polished Pink smaller flowers and punch.  Punch some leaves from Evening Evergreen.  Add all to the inside.

Here is a video showing how to make the card.
