Welcome to the One Stamp at a Time Blog Hop for March. The theme this month is Three Cheers as we celebrate birthdays. Everybody has one and it's a great time to celebrate!
It seems so strange, but I got so bogged down designing a card for today. Birthdays. It's like the range was just too broad. I was overwhelmed. There's a lot going on right now. I'm going to be a new grandmother within the next week. It's hard to concentrate. Enter the man from UPS with a box for me from Stampin' Up! I have a new stamp set. Let's use it! My new set is called Hot Dog. It's on page 72 of the Jan-June Mini. I think it's the last new stamp set offered before they to into a review. Don't miss it. Dogs and birthdays and so we give them cheers!
The card base is Real Red cut to 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and folded at 4 1/4.
I'm using the Playful Pets Designer Series Paper for my card front. Cut it at 4 1/4 x 5 1/2. Make sure to pay attention to the orientation of the paper. Glue to the front.
The next panel is Real Red and measures 4 3/4 x 3 5/8. The Basic White layer is 4 5/8 x 3 1/2.
I was able to stamp the 3 dogs together using masking. Stamp the sitting dog in the center first in Memento Black. Stamp the dog on a sticky note making sure you are using the sticky area. Cut this out on the line. Place the cut out over the dog just stamped. Now stamp the other two dogs.
To stamp the balloons, make a mask of the heads of the other two dogs. Add these and stamp. Stamp again on the stripe designer paper from Playful Pets. Cut around these and glue to the balloons.
There was just enough room to stamp the saying between two balloons.
To color the dogs, I googled dachshund. I found the colors I used so I hope the dogs are OK. I used Cajun Craze combo, Smoky Slate combo, Crumb Cake combo, and Real Red for the collar.
The dog prints are in Memento Black.
Mount the layer on dimensionals. Add a little of the Real Red ribbon from the Playful Pets Trim Combo Pack.
Here's the inside of the card. Stamp a dog and cut it in half. Add to each end of the saying. The hearts were punched with the Dog Builder Punch.
For my 3D item, I used the 3 x 9 Printed Gusseted Cellophane Bags. I didn't realize they were in the catalog. I need to use these! I cut a strip of the designer paper 2 7/8 x 12. Take the bag and flatten the bottom. If you tape the seam at the bottom flat, it helps with that. Fold the DSP at 2 inches. That part goes on the bottom of the bag. Trim the designer paper even with the top of the bag. Fill with dog bones. Straighten the top and staple shut. Fold down twice about 1/2 inch. secure with glue dots. Tie both ribbons from the Playful Pets Trim Combo into a bow.
The tag is a piece of Basic White card stock a little less that 2 inches x 4 1/4. Cut a piece of the red stripe designer paper the same size and glue together. Punch one end with the Scallop Tag Topper punch. Stamp a dog on white scrap and color. Add to the tag with dimensionals. Stamp dog prints. Stamp the sayings and trim around them. Add with dimensionals. Tie to the bag.
I think I'm going to love the Hot Dog stamp set! I'm so glad it was delivered right when I needed some inspiration!
