Prized Peony and Fine Art Floral Designer Series Paper

I hoard paper.  I've said it and I acknowledge it.  I'm using the Fine Art Floral Designer Series Paper today on my card.  Even more, I'm using 2 layers of it.  It's hard for me to do, but this paper is retiring on May 3rd or while supplies last.  Use it!

Prized Peony by Jo Anne Hewins

First of all, my card base is Pretty Peacock that is 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and folded at 4 1/4.  Pretty Peacock is retiring as well.  I have a feeling this color will disappear before May 3rd.

The first piece of Fine Art Floral paper is cut to 3 3/4 x 5.  I have glued it down to the base somewhat askew.  I rolled up the corners as well.  The next piece measures 3 1/2 x 4 3/4.  It is also placed askew and the corners are rolled.

Place is circle of Pretty Peacock in the upper center.  This is cut with the Stitched Shapes dies (2nd largest).  Sadly, these dies will also be retiring.  They have been a basic for me and will be missed so much.

Prized Peony close up by Jo Anne Hewins

The flower is made using the Peony dies.  There are 4 dies.  They are cut from Basic White and then placed in the Painted Texture Embossing Folder.  I begin with the largest die and then add them through the hole in the center and match at the bottom of the dies until all are used.  Then I used a sponge dauber to add some of the Pretty Peacock ink.  It might be easier to sponge each piece before you put it all together.  I also added 2 pieces of the center in peacock.  Make the flower more 3D by adding some dimensionals here and there between the pieces.  Glue so that you can see a bit of the circle.  The Prized Peony bundle is retiring as a bundle, but will be in next year's catalog.  If you want these, get them now while you can save 10%.

Add some of the Ornate Garden Ribbon Combo (Terracotte Tile) to the card with a glue dot.  This is also retiring!

The saying is from the Prized Peony stamp set.  Stamp in Pretty Peacock on Basic White and then trim.  Add to the card with dimensionals.

NC Demo Blog Hop for March 2021 Scene 2

Welcome to the NC Demo Blog Hop for March of 2021.  I'm so glad you are going on the hop.  You might have just come from Amy's blog or maybe you are starting here.  Either way be sure to visit everyone on the hop.  You'll get some great ideas.

Join us blog

Back in August we created cards with scenery.  We decided to do a repeat of this for March.  Stampin' Up! really does have a lot of stamps that lend themselves to scenery.  I decided to use an unlikely source for the project Whale of a Time Designer Series Paper.  Here's my card.

NC Demo Whale of a Time Scene Card by Jo Anne Hewins

My scene is underwater!  My card is made entirely of cut outs from the Whale of a Time DSP.

The card base is Thick Basic White measuring 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and scored and folded at 4 1/4.  To cover the front use one of the more solid blue papers.  It's Pacific Point with some other flecks of color.

The three panels on the front are made using the Stitched Nested Labels dies.  Use the sheet from the Whale of a Time that has waves.  Cut the panels so that the waves appear to run across the card.  Adhere with dimensionals.  I wanted them to be close together with a little space.  I started in the center of the card by using my Grid Paper as a guide and then added the two side panels.  Tie a length of Linen Thread around the panel on the right and tie into a knot.

NC Demo Whale of a Time Scene Close Up by Jo Anne Hewins

One of the sheets of the designer paper has large plants.  I cut some of those out and pieced them around the panels on the end.  This was a bit tricky but I do feel it was worth it.

From there all of the animals are cut from designer paper.  I do love to fussy cut.  Some were placed directly on the base of the card.  Some are glued to the panels.  It's important to place some that are hanging off the panels and some between the panels.  You may need to add some dimensionals under the parts hanging off.

The saying here is from the Sweet Strawberry stamp set stamped in Pacific Point.  Fussy cut around it.

NC Demo Whale of a Time Scene Inside by Jo Anne Hewins

For the inside of the card cut another panel from the Whale of a Time DSP using the Stitched Nested Labels.  The saying is from the Hydrangea Haven stamp set.  Cut out a few more animals and glue them.

I love how this card turned out.  If you love to fussy cut, this is a project you might want to try.  It will also use up some of your designer paper!

Thanks so much for joining me today.  Please continue on the hop with the NC Demos.  Next up is Tina.  Can wait to see her project!

Facebook Live 3.24.2021 Boho Indigo

Hello to you today.  This past Wednesday I played around with the Boho Indigo Product Medley on my Facebook Live.  The medley has lots of components to make beautiful cards easily.  In includes the stamp set and dies, 48 sheets of 6 x 6 designer paper 8 each of 6 double sided designs, Very Vanilla 6 x 6 embossed sheets, die cuts, Night of Navy Frayed Grosgrain ribbon, gold ribbon, and paper flowers in two sizes.  Find it all on page 9 of the Annual Catalog.  We made two cards using products from this medley.

Boho Indigo Facebook Duo by Jo Anne Hewins

Here is the first card we made.

Boho Indigo Facebook Card by Jo Anne Hewins

This card uses lots of products from the Boho Indigo medley.  The base is Thick Very Vanilla that is cut to 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and scored and folded at 4 1/4.  The designer paper is cut to fit the card front at 4 1/4 x 5 1/2.  Use the Liquid Multipurpose Glue to adhere the paper to the card front.  That gives you a little give before the glue sticks.

Run a length of the gold ribbon that comes with the medley around the card.  Tape in the middle of the front where the rectangle will cover it.

Use the card stock with the embossing for the rectangles.  Punch out three with the Rectangular Postage Stamp punch.  Add the two on each side and then the one in the middle with dimensionals.  That way you can make sure the spacing is good.

The leaves are punch outs that come with the medley.  Add with dimensionals.  The flowers are also part of the medley.  I added with glue dots.

The saying is from the Art Gallery stamp set.  It's stamped on a punched out label from the kit.

Boho Indigo Facebook Inside by Jo Anne Hewins

For the second card I brought in the Brilliant Butterflies bundle.

Butterfly Boho by Jo Anne Hewins

Use a base of Misty Moonlight the same size as above.  Stamp with the Butterfly Brilliance background stamp set up on the Stamparatus in the same color.  Cut detailed butterflies using the Brilliant Wings dies from some of the Boho Indigo designer paper.  Drag some areas of the butterflies through Versamark ink.  Add some of the Gold Emboss Powder and heat with the Heat Tool.

Add the butterflies to the card with glue down the bodies.  Add the flowers from the medley with a glue dot.  The ribbon is from the Forever Greenery Trim Ribbon pack.  Add to the center butterfly just under the flower.

The saying is from the Art Gallery stamp set.  Punch out with the Classic Label Punch and adhere with dimensionals.

Butterfly Boho Inside by Jo Anne Hewins

For the inside, add a detailed butterfly to the coordinating solid butterfly with glue down the body.  The saying is from the Boho Indigo Product Medley and is stamped in Misty Moonlight.

Here is the video.  I hope it is helpful.  If so, would you please share with your friends.  I would appreciate that!

Thanks for watching!
