A Cut Above
February 03, 2021
I don't usually buy the stamp sets like A Cut Above. It's found on page 69 of the Jan-June Mini catalog. My son does landscaping so getting this stamp was a no brainer. Seeing as how Jeff's birthday is today, I used A Cut Above for his birthday card.
Start with a base of Thick Basic White that is 5 1/2 x 8 1/2, score and fold at 4 1/4. The Oh So Ombre paper from Sale-a-Bration seemed perfect for this card. I used one of the Granny Apple Green pieces with the circles and cut it to fit the card front, 4 1/4 x 5 1/2.
A piece of the Bermuda Bay from Oh So Ombre was cut with the largest oval of the Stitched Shapes dies. Add to the center of the card front with dimensionals.
Stamp the man mowing the grass in Stazon ink on Basic White card stock. Color with watercolor pencils. Colors used were Pacific Point, Real Red, Early Espresso, Old Olive, Basic Black, and Daffodil Delight from Watercolor Pencils. Granny Apple Green and Balmy Blue were used from the Watercolor Pencils Assortment 2. Use a Blender Pen to smooth out the coloring.
Stamp the sun a three clouds on scrap white in Stazon. Color in the sun with the Daffodil Delight watercolor pencil. Fussy cut all. Add using dimensionals to the card front.
Trim around the person mowing and the lawn mower. Add to the card. Glue where it covers the oval. Add dimensionals where it stick over the oval.
Add some grass and weeds sticking out from the mowing piece. Use the Oh So Ombre Granny Apple Green and the Dandy Wishes dies.
The saying is from the A Cut Above stamp set. Cut the words apart and add to the oval.
The sayings are from the A Cut Above stamp set. Add some grass cuttings at the bottom using the Granny Apple Green with circles and the Dandy Wishes dies.
Happy birthday to you Jeff. I don't know how you got to be so old. I love you dearly. I honestly don't believe that he'll be looking here though.
Thanks so much. I do appreciate your time today. I'm sure that you know someone who mows grass and this just might be the perfect set for you. Did you know there is also a man in a hammock? Anyway, if you need supplies, I'm here to help you!
