Just in case you don't know, Sale-a-Bration is only for January and February.  Free items are stamp sets and our always beautiful designer papers.  Just to shake things up a bit, there will be a second Sale-a-Bration in July and August.  I love this!  Two times to Sale-a-Brate!

I think my favorite SAB item is the Berry Blessings + Berry Delightful Designer Series Paper.  This is a free choice with a purchase of $100.  This paper is just so pretty and it all coordinates with the Sweet Strawberry bundle from the Jan-June Mini.  We are in berry happiness!

I actually have three cards to share with you today and a downloadable PDF.  These cards each have a fun little fold.

Sweet Strawberry Class Strawberry by Jo Anne Hewins

Garden Green Base 5 ½ x 8 ½, score and fold at 4 ¼. Cut off a 1 inch piece off the right front.

Strawberry DSP 3 x 5 ¼ (front of card), Poppy Grid DSP 1 ¼ x 5 ¼ (inside right)

Cut the Stitched So Sweetly dies layer from Basic White. Use the 2nd largest die.

Stamp the leaves and blooms stamp in Memento Black ink toward the bottom. Color with Granny Apple Green, Daffodil Delight, and Smoky Slate Combo Blends. Add a little of the Light Daffodil Delight on the leaves.

Stamp the saying from the Sweet Strawberry stamp set.

On separate white stamp the strawberry and topper in Memento Black. Stamp the strawberry with the solid stamp. Stamp off Poppy Parade ink. Color the topper with Granny Apple Green Combo blends. Punch out with Strawberry Builder Punch. Add to front layer.

Color a 9 inch piece of White Crinkled Seam Binding with a Dark Poppy Parade blend. Wrap this around the card. Attach behind where the white layer will cover. Color another 12 inch length of ribbon in Poppy Parade and tie into a bow.

Attach the Stitched So Sweetly layer. Be careful not to put glue where the layer overlaps the front panel.

Attach the bow with a glue dot.

Inside, the white layer is cut to 2 ¾ x 5 ¼.

The saying, in Memento Black, is from the Sweet Strawberry stamp set.

Stamp the strawberry topper in memento. Now stamp the topper on a sticky note and cut out a mask. Adhere to the topper you stamped. Now stamp the strawberry outline in Memento. Stamp the inside of the strawberry with Poppy Parade. Color in the topper with the Granny Apple Green Combo Blends.

Sweet Strawberry Class Blackberry Project by Jo Anne Hewins

Cut a piece of Rich Razzleberry to 4 ¼ x 5 ½. Cut an additional piece that is 3 x 8 ½, score at 4 ¼.

Cut the razzleberry paper from the Berry Delightful DSP pack. You will need 1 piece that is 2 ¾ x 5 ¼ for the center of the card and 2 pieces that are 1 x 5 ¼.

Add the two pieces of DSP for the edges of the card. Make sure that the paper is lined up so that the borders are even. Now glue the folded card stock to the front. Check to make sure that it is lined up to the top of the card and that the sides are uniform. Add the DSP to the front of the card.

Add a 9 inch piece of Blackberry Bliss Stripe Ribbon to the front.

Stamp the saying from the Berry Blessings stamp set in Blackberry Bliss on white CS. Cut this out using the Potted Succulents dies. Add over the ribbon with dimensionals.

Stamp the berries in Blackberry Bliss (outline) and stamp the inside with Rich Razzleberry. Fussy cut. Stamp the leaves (outline) in Garden Green. Stamp the inside with stamped off Garden Green. Fussy cut. Add the two together. Add to the card front with dimensionals.

For the inside, cut a piece of white that is 2 ¾ x 5 ¼.

The saying is stamped in Blackberry Bliss and is from the Sweet Strawberry stamp set.

Stamp the blackberry and leaves just as you did on the front of the card. This time just stamp them close to each other. No cutting.

Sweet Strawberry Class Blueberry Project by Jo Anne Hewins

Cut a Pacific Point card base of 4 ¼ x 11. Score at 5 ½ and at 6 ¼. Trim 2 ¼ inches from the right side (side with extra score).

Add adhesive to the thin area between score lines and glue down.

Use the blueberry paper from the Berry Delightful DSP. For the diagonal you will need a piece that is 5/8 x 4 1/8. You’ll also need a piece that is 2 3/8 x 4 1/8. Cut another piece 2 3/8 x 4 1/8 of the blueberry paper. They are back to back.

Thin strip goes to the far left. Blueberries are on the front. Larger diagonal paper goes on the inside right.

Tie an 18 inch piece of White Crinkled Seam Binding around the far left of the card.

Use the Stitched So Sweetly dies to cut a banner from the Pacific Point CS cut off. Use the 2nd largest.

Cut a piece of Basic White that is 2 1/8 x 3 ¼. Stamp the saying in Pacific Point. It’s from the Sweet Strawberry stamp set. Stamp the blueberries in Night of Navy ink. Stamp the inside with Pacific point. Before stamping add a little Night of Navy ink directly to the stamp with a sponge dauber. Add some leaves with stamped off Garden Green ink.

Add this label with adhesive just on one side. Label will stick out over the front edge.

Inside, the white piece measures 2 1/8 x 4 1/8. The saying in Pacific Point is from the Berry Blessings stamp set. Stamp the berries on the plant and fill in the colors.

Facebook Live 1.27.2021 Friendly Flamingo Bundle

My Facebook Live this past week showcased the Friendly Flamingo bundle.  I think I must be into animals.  I seem to be buying them all.  It just might have something to do with little Sagan.  I don't usually get into the whimsical, but I find that I'm enjoying it.  Here are the cards we made on Wednesday.

Friendly Flamingo Duo by Jo Anne Hewins

I will include the video a little later, but first we'll talk about the details.

Friendly Flamingo bundle by Jo Anne Hewins

For this cards I used several die sets.  I'll get to that.

The base is Flirty Flamingo 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and folded at 4 1/4.

The next layer is Basic White measuring 4 x 5 1/4.  Run this through the Die Cut & Emboss Machine with the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder.

The pond and plants are cut using the Oh So Ombre Designer Series Paper.  It's one of the free choices with a $50 order during Sale-a-Bration.  Stamp the water stamp from Friendly Flamingo directly on the paper with Bermuda Bay ink.  Cut out using the Layering Ovals dies.  Glue to the card.  All the leaves are cut out using the Pierced Blooms dies.  I love all of the stitching.  Cut a few of the leaf fronds and a few leaves.  The tall stems are cut from the Flamingo dies.  Add the plants with glue dots and dimensionals.

Friendly Flamingo bundle Close Up by Jo Anne Hewins

The flamingo is of course cut with the Flamingo dies.  There are two wing dies.  Cut them both.  Glue down the flamingo and add the wing layers with dimensional.  Color one of the smallest Basic Pearls with the Dark Basic Black Blends.

The saying is from the Friendly Flamingo stamp set.  Stamp in Memento Black on a white scrap.  Punch out with the 1 1/2 inch Circle Punch.  The Flirty Flamingo circle is cut using the Layering Circle dies.  Just pick the one closest in size.  Glue on the saying to the card front.

Friendly Flamingo Card by Jo Anne Hewins

This card begins with a Basic White Thick Card Stock 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and scored and folded at 4 1/4.  The Flirty Flamingo layer is 4 x 5 1/4.  Stamp the flamingo over the layer in a random fashion.  Use Flirty Flamingo ink.  Then adhere to the card front.

Cut out the largest oval from Basic White card stock using the Stitched Shapes dies.  Glue to the center of the card.

Stamp the flamingo on Basic White in Flirty Flamingo.  Stamp the plants in Smoky Slate ink.  Color them using the Granny Apple Green combo, the Old Olive combo, and the Flirty Flamingo combo.  Cut both images out with the Flamingo dies.  Add with dimensionals.  For the flamingo, put glue under the legs since the plants are on dimensionals.

Stamp the saying in Old Olive.  It's from the Friendly Flamingo stamp set.

Black, White, and a Little Just Jade

It's time for a Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge #648.  We have a color challenge using Basic White, Basic Black, and One Additional Color.

CCMC648

With the True Love Designer Series Paper this challenge is a cinch.  I'm also using the Flower & Field Designer Series Paper that is one of the Sale-a-Bration choices with a $50 purchase.  Here is my card for today.

CCMC #648 True Love by Jo Anne Hewins

The card base is Just Jade  5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and folded at 4 1/4.

Add a layer of the Black and Just Jade dotted paper from the Flower & Field Designer Series Paper.  It's cut to 4 x 5 1/4.

Cut one of the Stitched Nested Labels from the dotted paper from the True Love Designer Series Paper.  I used the one that is about 2 3/8 inches wide.  Add to the center of the card with dimensionals.

Now use the True Love paper that has the clusters of one, two, and three flowers.  Pick a cluster of three.  Color the leaves with the Just Jade Combo of blends.

Use a Blender Brush to add just a little color of Just Jade to the center of each flower.  Fussy cut and add to the dotted label with dimensionals.  Use a bone folder to curl up on some of the leaves.

CCMC#648 True Love DSP by Jo Anne Hewins

The saying is from the Enjoy the Moment stamp set.  Stamp on a white scrap with Memento ink and fussy cut.  Glue to the label.

Add a bow made from the Just Jade 2020-2022 In Color Ribbon with glue dots.

CCMC#648 True Love Inside by Jo Anne Hewins

The inside of the card also has a saying from the Enjoy the Moment stamp set.  For the flower, I picked a flower from the designer paper that was on the edge.  Color as on the front and fussy cut.  Glue to the inside.  It's a great way to use those side images.

CCMC #648 True Love DSP by Jo Anne Hewins

Flowering Blooms Happy Birthday Card

The Flowering Blooms stamp set is in the Annual Stampin' Up! catalog on page 70.  It's a lovely set.  I found myself in need of birthday cards.  I wanted to make something that would use the new Blending Brushes.  Here's what I designed.

Flowering Blooms Birthday Project by Jo Anne Hewins

The card base is Basic White Thick Card Stock 4 1/4 x 11.  Score it at 5 1/2 and 6 3/4.  Fold the card as usual and then fold back at the second score line.  Adhere the space between the score lines to the inside of the card.

Decorate this space on the front of the card with patterned paper.  I used the Fine Art Gallery Designer Series Paper.  It measures 1 1/8 x 4 1/8.  Tie some of the Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon around the paper and tie into a knot.

Cut a piece of Basic White card stock to 3 3/4 x 3 3/4.  Flick some ink over the card front using a Terracotta Tile Stampin' Write Marker and rub it hard against the lid.  After drying for a few minutes, run over the surface with an Embossing Buddy or an old dryer sheet.  Set the flower stamp up on the Stamparatus.  You might want to stamp it more than one time and want to get it exactly in the same place.  It will be stamped in the lower right corner.  Stamp the flower with Versamark.  Make sure it was stamped well.  The next step is to use Clear Emboss Powder over the image and then heat with your Heat Tool.

Flowering Blooms Birthday Card Close Up by Jo Anne Hewins

And now it is time for the Blending Brushes.  These are sold in the Jan-June Mini and come in packs of three.  Oh, my, they are wonderful.  It's so much easier to get smooth color!  Start a little off the paper and work your way on adding a little color at a time.  Build it up.  When you have it the way you like, rub over the embossing with a paper towel to remove the color from it.  Now the image really pops!

Run this layer through the Cut & Emboss Machine with the Painted Texture 3D Embossing Folder.

Attach to a piece of Terracotta Tile card stock that is 3 7/8 x 3 7/8.  Add to the front of the card.

The saying is from the Art Gallery stamp set.  Stamp in Terracotta Tile ink.  Cut out with the Floral Gallery dies.  This stamp set and the dies make up the Art Gallery bundle.  Add the saying with dimensionals.

Color some of the clear gems from the Elegant Faceted Gems with the Dark Calypso Coral.  Color several times to get them very dark.  Add to the white layer.

Flowering Blooms Birthday Inside by Jo Anne Hewins

Here is the inside of the card.  The saying is stamped in Terracotta Tile and is from the In Blooms stamp set.  Stamp a different flower from the Flowering Blooms stamp set down in the right corner.

Flowering Blooms Birthday Emboss by Jo Anne Hewins

So I have 5 of these going into the mail this week.  It's a busy birthday week.  I hope they like them.

I love making cards.  It just makes me happy.  Let me know if I can enable your happiness.  If you need supplies, I can definitely help you.  Read about my free class offer below with purchase of $50 or more.
