Color Fusers Blog Hop for January, 2021
January 04, 2021
Welcome to the Color Fusers Blog Hop for January. This month we are using the colors Mango Melody, Melon Mambo, Garden Green, and Pacific Point. Wow! Those are some strong colors!
This was a real challenge for me. I am not a brights person, but I think that I do love my final product. What do you think?
When I saw these colors, I knew Basic White would be my background. I also knew that the new Pierced Blooms Dies would be perfect to design this card. This die set has 25 pieces to it. All will fit in the Mini Stamp & Cut Machine. I love how this machine can fit right on my desk.
This die set has lots of leaves. I started cutting them all from my Garden Green. Next I cut certain flowers from Pacific Point, Mango Melody, and Melon Mambo until I had lots of flowers and centers.
To build the card, I started in the center with the largest flower. Most of it ended covered as I worked out. Just work out trying to keep the flowers balanced in size and color. Some are glued down and some are added on dimensionals. The leaves are tucked in and among the flowers. Most of them have a glue dot at the base and a dimensional in the outer part of the leaf.
For the saying, I used the Many Messages bundle. Stamp the messages in Pacific Point ink. I think it's best to use the Stamparatus for this. I cut my Basic White to 5 x 6. All of the messages stamp at once. Use the heart and stars on the stamp to match up with the same on the Messages dies. Pick your saying and save all the rest for other projects.
I used the white twine from the Snail Mail Twine Combo Pack to add some interest behind the saying. Add the saying with dimensionals.
The basic layer for the flowers measures 3 3/4 x 5 in Basic White. The Pacific Point layer is 3 7/8 x 5 1/8. Use Foam Adhesive Sheets behind the Pacific Point to add the layer to the Thick Basic White base. This base is 4 1/4 x 11, scored at 5 1/2 and fold. Use your Bone Folder to burnish.
For the inside of the card, add a Melon Mambo flower with a Mango Melody center. Add a leaf stem.
I hope you'll continue on our hop. You are sure to see some great projects using these colors.
