NC Demo Blog Hop for December 2020 Designer Series Paper
December 27, 2020
Welcome to the NC Demo Blog Hop for December. You might have come from Dawn's post. I'm sure she had a great project. If you are starting here, please visit everyone. NC has great stampers!
Two new catalogs, the 2021 January-June Mini and the Sale-a-Bration Brochure, are going live on January 5th. That's always an exciting time. Today we are going to remind you that our Annual Catalog is also full of happiness. One of those things is our great collection of Designer Series Paper and our embellishments.
I have a great little fun fold card that makes use of our beautiful paper. I've shared this fold before, but it's a good one.
I'm using the In Good Taste Designer Series Paper. This pack has 24 sheets of 12 x 12, 2 each of 12 double sided designs. The designs are full of a texture look and some woods. I love it! One of my favorites if the piece I used today. I love that blue and white so much that I couldn't even make myself cut it. Time to cut!
Start with a card base of Night of Navy that is 4 1/4 x 5 1/2.
The designer paper is cut to 5 1/4 x 11 1/2. Score this at 4, 6 3/4, and 9 1/2. Fold in a zig zag manner and burnish with your Bone Folder. The larger section of DSP should fit on the navy base. Glue it down.
For this card, glue the short wood look piece to the next layer. Use the Dandy Wishes dies, going live soon, to make the dandelions for the card.
Cut stems and leaves from Garden Green. Sponge a little more Garden Green ink on them to add depth. Use a sponge dauber.
For the flower, begin with a sheet of So Saffron card stock. With one of our new Blender Brushes add some Daffodil Delight ink to this paper. It's not important to make sure it's super smooth. We want variations. Cut the four dandelion pieces from the yellow. For the largest, trim off the stem. Add the four pieces together in the centers. I used glue dots. Fluff up the layers of petals.
The saying is from the Garden Wishes stamp set. Stamp in navy and trim away from the rest of the saying.
Tie a length of the Night of Navy ribbon from the Playing with Patterns Ribbon Combo Pack around the card where the two papers meet. Tie into a knot.
As you open the card, the center section has a piece of Basic White that is 2 1/2 x 5. The saying from the front is stamped here in full using Night of Navy ink.
Add another flower with only 3 layers and leaf.
For the rest of the card add a dandelion (side view) and another full dandelion (3 layers). Make sure that you can see this dandelion when the card is closed.
Stamp the bee stamp from Garden Wishes in Night of Navy and color with a Dark Daffodil Delight Blend. Cut out with the Dandy Wishes dies. Add with a dimensional.
Finish the card with some of the Elegant Faceted Gems. Lovely!
The Garden Wishes stamp set and Dandy Wishes dies will be available as a bundle saving you 10% beginning January 5th. Don't forget that Sale-a-Bration also begins the same day. You can earn free products according to the amount you spend. If you need catalogs, please let me know.

Jo Anne, you used one of my favorite DSP packs in the Annual catalog. Those papers are so versatile, but the blue and white pattern is my favorite. I love blue and yellow together, it's just a great combo. The fold is great too, another one for me to play with. Thanks!

Jo Anne - You made me smile when you said that initially you couldn't bring yourself to cut the piece of blue and white DSP. I'm the same way and just have to make myself cut the paper! I love your fun fold and will definitely be CASEing it. Your color combination is just perfect.

Very nice card! I like how you used the Tasteful Touches DSP with the Dandy Wishes die set together. This is a new fun fold for me so I definitely will need to try it.

Wanted to amend my comment - that is the In Good Taste DSP, not Tasteful Touches (stamp set).

No problem. I knew what you meant. Thanks so much!
