Ice Cream, Anyone?

Today for the Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge #644 we are using the colors Highland Heather, Balmy Blue, and Night of Navy.

CCMC644

I'm using the new Sweet Ice Cream stamp set to make this card.  It is so cute!

CCMC #644 Ice Cream Corner by Jo Anne Hewins

To make this card start with a base of Thick Basic White card stock cut to 5 1/2 x 8 1/2.  Score and fold at 4 1/4.

Stamp the popsicles randomly over the card.  These actually come in a top and a bottom part.  I personally prefer to stamp the bottom first and then add the top.  Alternate the three colors for the day, Highland Heather, Balmy Blue, and Night of Navy.  Don't forget to add some of the dots on the popsicles, too.  The popsicle sticks are also a two step process.  Stamp the solid in Cinnamon Cider and then add the details in the same color.

For the drips, ink up the stamp first.  Then add a different color to the bottom with a sponge dauber.  Make sure to clean the stamp each time so you don't dirty your stamp pads.

Make an additional score line 3/4 inches over from the center of the card.  Fold.  Glue down the thin area between the two lines.  This just adds a little interest to the card.  Use the Medium Daisy Punch to punch a little slot in the center of this area at the top and the bottom.  Run a length of the Night of Navy ribbon from the Playing with Patterns Ribbon Combo Pack.  I used rolled glue dots to hold the ends in place.  Add a bow with glue dots.  I used a bow maker to make the triple bow.

For the sentiment, start with a piece of Basic White measuring 1 1/8 x 3 1/2.  Stamp the saying in Night of Navy.  Add some drops around.  Add the saying with dimensionals.

For the inside of the card, stamp the saying, a popsicle, and a drip.

I've published this before, but it is so much fun to play around with colors with this stamp set.  So just in case you missed it, here is a chart I made when playing.

Garden Wishes Bundle and a Fun Fold

On a recent post, I showed a fun fold card using the In Good Taste Designer Series Paper.  Today I have an alternate card using the same fold and designer paper pack.  It also uses the Garden Wishes bundle.  Yet the cards are very different.

Garden Wishes Fun Fold by Jo Anne Hewins

The base of this card is Early Espresso that is 4 1/4 x 5 1/2.  The designer paper is cut to 5 1/4 x 11 1/2.  Score lines are at 4, 6 3/4, and 9 1/2.  Fold the paper accordion style.  Glue the largest section to the base.

Glue the top fold down to the next layer.

Stamp the largest dandelion cluster of plants on Basic White with Memento ink.  Color in using the Daffodil Delight Combo, Light Old Olive, and Dark Mossy Meadow blends.  Cut out using the Dandy Wishes dies.

The saying is from the Dragonfly Garden stamp set.  Stamp in Old Olive on Basic White.  Cut this out with the Stitched So Sweetly dies.  I used the 3rd die in from the outside.  Put the writing near the bottom.  At the top of this layer add the stitching that shows the flight of the bee.  It's part of the Garden Wishes dies.  Stamp the bee on white scrap in Memento and color with the Dark Daffodil Delight blend.  Cut out with the dies and glue to the layer.

To add this layer, consider the fact that part of it sticks out over the designer paper.  You will not want to put glue on this part or you'll glue your card shut.  Also consider the dandelion.  You want it to fit so that none of the words are covered.  The plants are added with dimensionals.

For the inside, you need a piece of Basic White that is 2 1/2 x 5.  The saying is from Garden Wishes in Old Olive.  Stamp and color more dandelions from the lower left corner.

Add some of the Gold Glitter Enamel Dots to finish out the card.

Here are the 2 cards together.  They use the same In Good Taste Designer Series Paper and the same fold.  They even use the same Garden Wishes bundle.  They are different!

NC Demo Blog Hop for December 2020 Designer Series Paper

Welcome to the NC Demo Blog Hop for December.  You might have come from Dawn's post.  I'm sure she had a great project.  If you are starting here, please visit everyone.  NC has great stampers!

Two new catalogs, the 2021 January-June Mini and the Sale-a-Bration Brochure, are going live on January 5th.  That's always an exciting time.  Today we are going to remind you that our Annual Catalog is also full of happiness.  One of those things is our great collection of Designer Series Paper and our embellishments.

I have a great little fun fold card that makes use of our beautiful paper.  I've shared this fold before, but it's a good one.

Garden Wishes Bundle Fun Fold Closed by Jo Anne Hewins

I'm using the In Good Taste Designer Series Paper.  This pack has 24 sheets of 12 x 12, 2 each of 12 double sided designs.  The designs are full of a texture look and some woods.  I love it!  One of my favorites if the piece I used today.  I love that blue and white so much that I couldn't even make myself cut it.  Time to cut!

Start with a card base of Night of Navy that is 4 1/4 x 5 1/2.

The designer paper is cut to 5 1/4 x 11 1/2.  Score this at 4, 6 3/4, and 9 1/2.  Fold in a zig zag manner and burnish with your Bone Folder.  The larger section of DSP should fit on the navy base.  Glue it down.

For this card, glue the short wood look piece to the next layer.  Use the Dandy Wishes dies, going live soon, to make the dandelions for the card.

Cut stems and leaves from Garden Green.  Sponge a little more Garden Green ink on them to add depth.  Use a sponge dauber.

For the flower, begin with a sheet of So Saffron card stock.  With one of our new Blender Brushes add some Daffodil Delight ink to this paper.  It's not important to make sure it's super smooth.  We want variations.    Cut the four dandelion pieces from the yellow.  For the largest, trim off the stem.  Add the four pieces together in the centers.  I used glue dots.  Fluff up the layers of petals.

The saying is from the Garden Wishes stamp set.  Stamp in navy and trim away from the rest of the saying.

Tie a length of the Night of Navy ribbon from the Playing with Patterns Ribbon Combo Pack around the card where the two papers meet.  Tie into a knot.

Garden Wishes Bundle Fun Fold by Jo Anne Hewins

As you open the card, the center section has a piece of Basic White that is 2 1/2 x 5.  The saying from the front is stamped here in full using Night of Navy ink.

Add another flower with only 3 layers and leaf.

For the rest of the card add a dandelion (side view) and another full dandelion (3 layers).  Make sure that you can see this dandelion when the card is closed.

Stamp the bee stamp from Garden Wishes in Night of Navy and color with a Dark Daffodil Delight Blend.  Cut out with the Dandy Wishes dies.  Add with a dimensional.

Finish the card with some of the Elegant Faceted Gems.  Lovely!

The Garden Wishes stamp set and Dandy Wishes dies will be available as a bundle saving you 10% beginning January 5th.  Don't forget that Sale-a-Bration also begins the same day.  You can earn free products according to the amount you spend.  If you need catalogs, please let me know.
