Today for the Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge #644 we are using the colors Highland Heather, Balmy Blue, and Night of Navy.
I'm using the new Sweet Ice Cream stamp set to make this card. It is so cute!
To make this card start with a base of Thick Basic White card stock cut to 5 1/2 x 8 1/2. Score and fold at 4 1/4.
Stamp the popsicles randomly over the card. These actually come in a top and a bottom part. I personally prefer to stamp the bottom first and then add the top. Alternate the three colors for the day, Highland Heather, Balmy Blue, and Night of Navy. Don't forget to add some of the dots on the popsicles, too. The popsicle sticks are also a two step process. Stamp the solid in Cinnamon Cider and then add the details in the same color.
For the drips, ink up the stamp first. Then add a different color to the bottom with a sponge dauber. Make sure to clean the stamp each time so you don't dirty your stamp pads.
Make an additional score line 3/4 inches over from the center of the card. Fold. Glue down the thin area between the two lines. This just adds a little interest to the card. Use the Medium Daisy Punch to punch a little slot in the center of this area at the top and the bottom. Run a length of the Night of Navy ribbon from the Playing with Patterns Ribbon Combo Pack. I used rolled glue dots to hold the ends in place. Add a bow with glue dots. I used a bow maker to make the triple bow.
For the sentiment, start with a piece of Basic White measuring 1 1/8 x 3 1/2. Stamp the saying in Night of Navy. Add some drops around. Add the saying with dimensionals.
For the inside of the card, stamp the saying, a popsicle, and a drip.
I've published this before, but it is so much fun to play around with colors with this stamp set. So just in case you missed it, here is a chart I made when playing.
Thanks so much for taking the time to join me today. I hope you found something you can use.
