Poinsettia Petals and Poinsettia Place Designer Series Paper

You know that one of the best things about Stampin' Up! is the coordination!  They have stamp sets, dies, papers, ribbons, and embellishments that just are perfect for each other.  That's so true of the Poinsettia Petals bundle and the Poinsettia Place Designer Series Paper.  Just look at this card.

Poinsettia Petals by Jo Anne Hewins

Isn't it lovely?  The base for this card is Old Olive card stock measuring 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and folded at 4 1/4.

The Whisper White layer is 3 3/4 x 5.  The Old Olive designer paper from Poinsettia Place is cut to 3 5/8 x 4 7/8.  Cut a strip of the pine cone paper that is 1 x 5 and glue to the left.

The poinsettia is cut from the Poinsettia Place Designer Series Paper.  Use the Poinsettia dies.  There are only a few that fit the die.  The rest can still be used but you'll have to cut them out.

You will also need three stems cut from Early Espresso card stock using the dies.  You'll need three of the leaves cut from Old Olive card stock.  Stamp in the center with the coordinating stamp in Old Olive.  We did make these cards in my class.  I suggested that they might want to sponge around the outside of the leaves with Old Olive ink.  It really made a difference.  Curl the leaves a little using your Bone Folder.  You'll also need three of the berry stems.  Stamp on Whisper White scrap in Soft Suede the berry stem outline.  Now carefully add the color of the berries using Real Red ink.  Cut with the dies.

Assemble all of the pieces.  I used some dimensionals and glue.  I might also suggest that you use Adhesive Sheets behind the Early Espresso stems.  It would turn them into stickers.

The saying is from the Itty Bitty Christmas stamp set.  Stamp in Real Red on white scraps.  I used a left over 1/2 strip and just trimmed the ends.

Here's the inside of my card.  It's all from the Poinsettia Petals stamp set.
