Coming Home and Trimming the Town

Welcome to another Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge.  Challenge #637 is a sketch.

CCMC637

I wanted to use the Trimming the Town Designer Series Paper.  It follows to use the Coming Home bundle.  They are featured together.  I love how this card turned out!

CCMC#637 Coming Home Card by Jo Anne Hewins

The base begins with a Thick Whisper White 4 1/4 x 11.  Score and fold at 5 1/2.

The red loop paper is cut to 3 1/2 x 4 3/4.  Add to the base at an angle.  The blue striped paper is cut at 3 x 4 3/4.  Add this piece straight on the card, but first add the snow.  You'll need a piece of Whisper White that is 1 x 4 3/4.  Use the curvy die from the Home Together dies to cut the snow.  Glue to the bottom of the blue layer.

Now we need to build our scenery.  Cut three of the bare trees in Early Espresso card stock.  Stamp two of the large trees from the Coming Home stamp set on Whisper White in Memento Black.  Color with the Old Olive Combo Pack of blends.  The trunk is colored in the Dark Crumb Cake blend.  Now cut out with the dies.

Stamp the little tree and color and cut the same as the big ones.

Stamp the car.  Color it with the Real Red Combo Pack and the Smoky Slate Combo Pack of blends.  Cut out.

Add all the pieces to the card.  Glue most.  One big tree is on dimensionals.  The car and little tree are on dimensionals also.

Stamp the saying in Real Red.  This stamp is from the Itty Bitty Christmas stamp set.  Trim closely.  Notch the left end.  Add to the back of the card.  I was hoping that it would look like the exhaust.  Add the banner with a strip of Foam Adhesive Strip.

Add snowflakes on the card from the Snowflakes Sequins.

For the inside of the card, add 1/2 inch strips of the two patterned papers along the bottom.  Stamp the saying from Itty Bitty Christmas along the top paper.

I didn't think I would get the Coming Home bundle.  In the end, I felt like to had to get it.  Why?  Stampin' Up! loves to give back to the community.  Whether you purchase the Coming Home set individually or as part of the bundle or suite, $3 will be donated to charities devoted to adoption, foster care, and infertility.  It's a way to make a difference.  Isn't that what the Christmas season is all about!  Let me just say that without fertility clinics, I would not be a Grammie to Sagan or my little granddaughter that's on the way.  They perform miracles every day!  I also have to say that I really love this stamp set!
