4 Cards from One Layout and a Facebook Live!

This past Wednesday I did a Facebook Live showing 4 different cards with one layout.  It certainly is not professional by any means.  In fact I didn't even have the supplies ready for the last card.  I do think that the cards are really pretty and I do think that I have some little bits of information you might like.

With this being said, I don't have pictures of the cards.  I do have excuses.  We had hurricane Zeta come through the area and while we are in the Piedmont of North Carolina (foothills of the mountains), we had big winds and rain.  We lost power.  It went out on Thursday at 9 am and it's still not back on.  I'm writing this at 9 pm on Friday.  We have gone to the mountains with Jessie, Robby, and our granddaughter Sagan.  All my attention has been on Sagan.  Plus, here at Beech Mountain the high has been around 40 with big winds.  When I could take pictures, I didn't think about it.  I am going to go ahead and add the video from Wednesday.  Be kind.

The pictures are done now.  They aren't my best.  They will do.

Gather Together Simplicity

Welcome to another Create with Connie and Mary Thursday Challenge #636.  This is a color challenge using Pumpkin Pie, Bumblebee, and Basic Gray.

CCMC636

Keeping in mind that it's fall, I had to make an autumn card for this challenge using the Gather Together bundle.

CCMC #636 Gather Together by Jo Anne Hewins

The card base is Thick Whisper White 5 1/2 x 8 1/2, scored and folded at 4 1/4.  Cut a piece of the Basic Gray patterned paper to 4 1/4 x 5 1/2.  I love making designer paper fill the entire card front!  This paper is from the Neutrals 6 x 6 Designer Series Paper.  Unfortunately, this isn't one of the papers on sale at 15% off, but you definitely want to check out the papers that are at the end of this post!  Use the Multipurpose Liquid Glue to adhere this piece.  It gives it a little give long enough for you to get it just right.  Don't dawdle though.

There's another pattern of the Basic Gray across the card that  measures 1/2 x 4 1/4.  This pattern is actually on the back of the wood look lined gray.  When gluing this, make sure that your words are oriented correctly.

CCMC #636 Gather Together Close Up by Jo Anne Hewins

Stamp the pumpkin images in Basic Gray ink on Whisper White card stock.  You'll need one of the large pumpkins and 1 of the group of two pumpkins.  Color the pumpkins using the Pumpkin Pie Blends Combo pack.  Color the stem with a Basic Gray marker from the Neutrals Stampin' Write Markers.  Cut out the pumpkins with the Gathered Leaves dies.  Adhere to the card with dimensionals.

Stamp the wheat in Bumblebee ink on white 3 times.  These will need to be cut out with snips.  Add dimensionals.  The ends of the wheat may need to be trimmed.  Tuck them in behind the pumpkins.

The word THANKS is cut from Pumpkin Pie card stock using the Well Written dies.  Back the card stock with some of the Adhesive Sheets.  That makes adding the word to the card front so easy!

Finish off the card with some of the Bumblebee dots from the 2020-2022 In Color Enamel Dots.

CCMC#636 Gather Together Inside by Jo Anne Hewins

For the inside of the card, use a saying from the Gather Together stamp set in Basic Gray.  Add some of the wheat in Bumblebee in the lower right corner.

Curvy Celebrations Variety Bundle Available November 3!

The January-June Mini Catalog will be here before we know it!  It goes live on January 5th.  Stampin' Up! knows how hard it is to wait for a new catalog.  They are introducing  a sneak peek available to all of us November 3rd.  I love it when they do that!  Here is a picture of the Quite Curvy Bundle.

Quite Curvy Bundle

There's more, but I'll get to that!  Here's my card for today using this great Quiet Curvy bundle.

Curvy Celebrations by Jo Anne Hewins

I had a little help with the papers from the Boho Indigo Product Medley.  The card base is Misty Moonlight 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and folded in half at 4 1/4.  Decorate around the outside portion of the card front using the large leaves stamp.  Stamp off in the Misty Moonlight ink.  Stamp across the top and the bottom.  I have two stamps on each side going down at an angle.

The frame is cut from Night of Navy card stock.  Use the Stitched Rectangle dies, the 3rd and 5th rectangles from the outside.  Cut strips of the Foam Adhesive Sheets to 1/4 inch width and add around the frame.  Save for later.

For the background behind the frame, use the Boho Indigo Designer Series Paper.  You'll need 3 different pieces that measure 2 x 3.  One piece is left as is.  The other two are cut with the dotted die from the Curvy dies.  Cut along the long side with this die.  Cut close to one side.  Notice the cut part of the die.  That part goes closest to the edge of the paper.  Adhere the three pieces to each other.  The uncut piece goes in the middle.  One piece has the cut edge pointing down over the center and the other has the cut side facing up over the center piece.  I just added a little piece of tape on the back to secure the pieces.  Cut this out with the 4th stitched rectangle die.  Add this piece to the center of the card front.

Add the frame around this piece.

Curvy Celebrations Close Up by Jo Anne Hewins

Use the gold thread from the Forever Greenery Trim Combo Pack.  This thread unravels easily.  I put a tiny piece of tape around the end.  Make two circles of the thread and add it to the frame with a glue dot or two.  No need to wrap the other end.  Just secure with the glue dot quickly.

Cut two stems with the dies out of Old Olive card stock.  Add tucking the ends under the frame.  I trimmed one of them a little.

Stamp the flower stem and one of the birds on Very Vanilla scrap in Memento Black ink.  Color with blends:  Old Olive combo, Flirty Flamingo combo, Crumb Cake combo, Seaside Spray combo.  Cut these out with the Curvy dies.  Add the stem with glue dots to the lower left of the frame.  Add the bird with a dimensional.

The saying on this card is actually part of a saying.  Stamp on Very Vanilla in Night of Navy ink.  Using snips trim around the saying.  Clip the right end.  Curl the saying with a Bone Folder.  Add with glue dots.  The left side is tucked under the bird.

Curvy Celebrations Inside by Jo Anne Hewins

Stamp the entire saying on the inside of the card.  Add the stem and the bird and color as you did for the front.

Cardstock #2: Whisper White 5-1/4” x 4” and 2-1/2” x 4” and 3” x 2”

Cardstock #3: Shaded Spruce 2-1/2” x 2-1/2”

Designer Series Paper: 3-7/8” x 2-7/8” and 3-7/8” x 2-3/8”

Instructions:

Score and fold the card base in half as you would if you were making a normal card. Then cut 2-3/4” down the score line from the top of the card and fold down to the inside of the card (this will make a pocket for a gift card). To keep the pocket from bulging, trim 1/8” off the inside of the piece folded down to make the pocket.

Using the 1-1/2” Circle Punch, punch half a circle on the folded piece to be able to slide the gift card in and out of the pocket.

Use Tear and Tape on the inside edge and the bottom edge to make the pocket.

Glue the 5-1/4” x 4” Whisper White piece to the inside of the card, then glue the 3-7/8” x 2-7/8” DSP to the inside Whisper White centering it.

Glue the 2-1/2” x 4” Whisper White piece to bottom front of the card, then glue the 3-7/8” x 2-3/8” DSP to the Whisper White centering it.

Cut a 3-4” piece of the white ribbon from the Flowers for Every Season Ribbon Combo Pack and adhere to the center of the bottom part of the card front.

Using Cherry Cobbler ink, stamp the round image on Whisper White cardstock, then stamp the coffee cup image with black ink, then stamp the inside image of the cup with Sahara Sand ink. Die cut both of these images with the Warm Wraps dies. You can also die cut at the same time the larger circle out of the Shaded Spruce cardstock.

Glue the round image to the front of the Shaded Spruce circle and then using a Mini Dimensional adhere the coffee cup die cut to the inside of the circle. Then glue the whole piece over the ribbon on the center of the bottom section of the card.

Stamp the greeting “Eat Drink and be cozy” in the inside of the card on the Whisper White cardstock.

It's gift giving time so a gift card holder is perfect.  Download Warm Hugs
