One Stamp at a Time Blog Hop for September You've Got This

Welcome to the One Stamp at a Time Blog Hop for September.  Our theme this month is "You've Got This!"  I'm go glad you have joined us today.  We hop on the second Thursday of each month.  This group is filled with very talented stampers and I know that you'll love every project.  Be sure that you visit all of the blogs.

I must admit that this was a hard challenge for me.  I decided to go with school.  I am a retired first grade teacher.  My daughter  is a high school art teacher.  She is teaching art virtually here in the beginning due to a certain virus that we will not name.  She is having a tough time learning new programs.  I know that it won't take long until it is all easy for her.  She'll wonder why she was so worried.  She does have this!  Jessie is a wonderful caring teacher.  Here is my card.

I wanted my card to have a blackboard look to it.  Start with a card base of Thick Whisper White that measures 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and scored and folded at 4 1/4.

Cut a piece of Soft Suede paper to 4 1/4 x 5 1/2.  This paper is from the Neutrals 6 x 6 Designer Series Paper.  It does have a wood look to it.  Glue it down.  Trim any that is sticking out.  Turn the card over and trim from the back.  If there should be a thin line of Whisper White that isn't covered, trim the card down to fit.

Cut a piece of Basic Black cardstock with the 3rd rectangle in of the Stitched Rectangle dies.  Stamp the saying "Time for a new adventure." over the surface of the black piece.  Use the Uninked Stampin' Pad and Whisper White Refill.  This saying is from the Well Said stamp set.

Cut a frame from Poppy Parade paper from the Brights 6 x 6 Designer Series Paper.   I used the 2nd and 4th rectangles in from the outside of the Stitched Rectangle dies.  Add this frame around the black panel.  I used the Foam Adhesive Strips for this.  You might also choose the brand new Foam Adhesive Sheets.

The letters are made using the Playful Alphabet dies.  Use the Bumblebee paper from the 2020-2022 In Color 6 x 6 Designer Series Paper.  Back the paper with the Foam Adhesive Sheets.  You can cut all of the letters at once.  This set has duplicates of some of the letters.  To add the letters, line the card up with the lines on the Grid Paper.  I laid a ruler across the frame and added the letters.  For the second row, you can see that I didn't have quite enough room for both words.  It's probably best to cut the G and S without the foam and add pieces of Foam Adhesive Strip.  For the word THIS start with the S and work backwards.

The stars are cut from Pacific Point (Brights) and the Stitched Stars dies.  Use the swirly piece and a few of the smaller stars.  You might need to cut these pieces twice.  Add to the card using glue or Foam Adhesive strips

For my 3D item, I used the Mini Curvy Keepsake Box die in Basic Black cardstock.

Stamp the saying "It's your time to shine" from the Daisy Lane stamp set on each side.  Make sure that you turn the box so that the writing will face the correct way.  Put the handle at the top when stamping.  Use the Whisper White ink again.

Cut the stars from the Poppy Parade, Pacific Point, and Bumblebee papers.  Use the Adhesive Sheets to line the back of the paper.  Cut two of the swirls from each paper.  Add a star of each color to each side of the box.

Stamp the word SHINE on a piece of Whisper White cardstock.  Use the same stamp and tape off all but the last word.  Cut this out with the star tag die from Stitched Stars.  Tie on the tag with the Bumblebee Gingham Trim.
