Comfort & Hope Meets Birds & More Dies

The background texture stamps of the Comfort & Hope stamp set are perfect to pair with the wood of the In Good Taste Designer Series Paper and the Birds & More dies.  Let me show you what I mean.  Let me also say that this card was influenced by Donna Gray.

Comfort and Hope Card by Jo Anne Hewins

The Comfort & Hope stamp set is timely for sure.  I think we all need comfort and we certainly need hope.  Yes, some day this will all be over!

The base of this card of Pretty Peacock cut to 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 and folded at 4 1/4.  The next layer is Whisper White measuring 3 7/8 x 5 1/8.  The In Good Taste layer is one of the lighter toned woods in the pack.  Cut at 3 3/4 x 5.  Before you adhere this layer, there is a lot to be done.

Stamp the grid stamp in three places, upper and lower left and one in the upper center.  Stamp the herringbone stamp over the lower grid.  These were stamped in Early Espresso.  There is another herringbone stamp in the lower right corner.  Stamp this off in Early Espresso and then at an angle in the corner.

Stamp the circular stamp just a little above center and a little to the left in Pretty Peacock ink.

The long branch from the Birds & More dies is cut from Old Olive cardstock.  Glue this at an angle on the card front.  You might want to try the Adhesive Sheets with this die.  Adhering it would be so easy!

Use Linen Thread to wrap around this layer two times.  I started at the left and taped down one end on the back.  Wind around up to the right and back toward center and then to the lower right.  Tape and cut the twine.  Tie a bow to add later with a glue dot.

Cut two birds that are facing each other from Pretty Peacock cardstock.  Add to the card with dimensionals.  I did have to cut up dimensionals for these birds.  Add gold Metallic Pearls for the eyes of the birds.

Stamp the saying on a scrap of Whisper White.  Stamp in Pretty Peacock.  Cut around the words with snips.  Add with dimensionals.  Add the AND with glue.

Finish the card with a few of the sequin stamps in Pretty Peacock.  I colored mine in with a Light Pretty Peacock Blend.  I must say that I had second thoughts about coloring the sequins.  They looked better before I colored them, but after one group I was committed.  Just take a look at that if you make this card.

Comfort and Hope Inside by Jo Anne Hewins

Here is the inside of the card.  I stamped more of the herringbone and the grid stamps in Early Espresso.  Glue another bird cut from the Birds & More dies.  Again, you could use the Adhesive Sheets.

Stamp the saying from Comfort & Hope in Pretty Peacock.  I repeated the stamp again lower over the herringbone stamp with one stamped off.

My husband has taken to bird watching during our social distancing.  He has ordered bird feeders several times.  He did set up a couple right outside my stamping room.  I admit, they are fun to watch.
